      As a beginner the thing that I learned is that your topology must follow the flow of the car, that is the direction of the faces. Also don't be afraid to use tris once in a while.
      Another thing is that modelling the tyres is rather hard the first time and the end result can be very high poly (if you don't use textures). Try to make your tyres as low poly as possible because in the render you can hardly see the details due to its material.
      That's what I can think of at the moment, sorry for the late reply. Happy modelling!

    as you're working with a laptop, you may appreciate knowing the shortcut [Ctrl] + [Space],

      Mark C 3D modeler here, yes. It’s pretty much like that. But you also need to make sure the shape is right be looking at a lot of references and changing views frequently, and figuring out shapes that are obstructed from the orthographic view, which then again the reference image comes in handy.
      Feel free to ask more.

    What did you do to texture the model like this? Was this achieved by shading of with the (I don't remember the name) modifier (the one that makes you see only the edges)?

    • @adeo
      @adeo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ArtsyGamexYT I asked you that because that wireframe modifier has to sit on top of a mesh with faces with consistent sizes to get the results you showed, but at the end of the video the faces look different (I'm already accounting for the effect of sss)

  • @count23all
    @count23all 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What was your face count in the end? I'm doing CGMa's corvette at the moment and it's clocking in at 1.1 million polys, i'm curious if this was a high quality or a mid-quality model as well for comparison.

    Man I've been going at it all wrong, I'm mostly self taught through practice that's the problem. I made one of these but it turned out kind of lumpy in places. What I did was model as much as I can from one angle, then switch to top view and do the same. Then front view, then cycle back through them making tweaks until it looks right. I see you have to make a perfect mix of the 3 perspectives as you work. After adding vertices swapping through all views as you go step by step. Its much more tedious and time consuming but I can see how it saves you a lot of time later cleaning up. I should watch other people work more often. Though, it gives me a hope seeing a successful artist at this level, I feel I'm right on your coattails when it comes to this stuff. Maybe I've been dealing with imposter syndrome I should just start uploading stuff.

      Realistic 3D modeling requires a lot of time and effort. Take good courses (free or paid) from real experts of Blender if you want to accelerate your skills fast. Each course gives valuable insight, good practice of 3D modeling that user manual or the internet search can't provide.
