@@JR-xt4nk play another game bro. 343 originally said we would have tons of armor to unlock for free and that microtransactions were not supposed to create a sense of FOMO. They specifically said we would get something like Halo Reach and Halo 3 where we would have Armor unlocked through challenges, campaign progress, community challenges. 🤧 Halo 5 actually had unlockable armor even for playing previous games like MCC. Halo infinite has none of that. Just paying money for skins that aren't even canon to the universe 🤡

Reminder that even in Halo 5, 343 was barely releasing new official maps and instead using the forge worlds to make maps for matchmaking.
This is not new behavior for 343.
At least Halo 5 had content updates and received more updates in 6 months than infinite did in 2 years.

I’m gonna be honest, 343 has taken the free to play monetization scheme so far into the extreme that it’s made me lose all faith in their ability to give us a good multiplayer.
If I even hear the mention of f2p, battlepass, seasons and such when the next halo game gets announced, I won’t play it. I don’t care if it’s the best halo game we’ve ever gotten (even though it likely won’t be), I will not play it because it’s obvious that 343 just want to take advantage of the players and not make a good game they’re passionate about.

The amount of competing interests that have their hands on a piece of the pie of halo is tearing the franchise apart. I haven't played consistently for a few months. I feel like the gameplay is fine but none of my friends wanna play it anymore because of lack of content.
The lack of content isn’t even a thing anymore. There’s a shit ton of modes and maps now. Just came way too late
@@jeffmiles4356It’s too little, too late. Having 1 firefight mode with a handful of maps and time exclusive difficulty is idiotic when they are hurting for players. Community made maps is just them literally throwing in the towel and letting players do the work for them.
I’m just astonished there’s still big hit reg issues after 2.5 years and a whole network overhaul. Combine that with 343 throwing in the towel and I haven’t touched it for a while.

@@mcarlinod true. I was disappointed with firefight. I don't know why it had to be a king of the hill mode. Because all of the actions is now focused on a portion of the map instead of using the entire map to survive like in Bungie firefight. It's also impossible to play solo. You actually need to go in through matchmaking. It's really not fun.

I don't blame the Forgers for Feeling burned out it's not like they get any credit in the game. when you start a match on the forge Maps the game doesn't even tell you the name of the map, let alone who made it.
Not to mention that the only forge maps that get picked are just remakes of old maps
Cosmetics are like the only thing Infinite has going for it, and when 70-80% of it is in the shop or part of a paid battle pass, it really becomes discouraging to get what you want.
Don't forget limited tine purchases they specifically said we're not going to be in the game
And even they added those in game currency to buy stuff you can only buy a specific set of previous stuff they choose to put in the exchange.
Saying cosmetics is like the only thing going for Infinite is a bad faith argument. 343 actually nailed the gameplay, sound design, and art direction this time. That's what makes the cosmetic situation more tragic because they have this massive vain of potential that's ruined with such predatory business tactics.
Gave up on infinite after operation anvil came out. *Cosmetics are not Content.* Was waiting for weapons and vehicles which were clearly in the files but never saw the light of day. Even though I was late to the Halo party with 4, I love these games to death. It's a shame microsoft doesn't.

Half the people don't know how to work the maps in the classic halos, so despite the matchmaking, it somehow rebalances in general.

It's why I play MCC and Halo 5 over Infinite, even despite Halo 5's req system, I don't have to pay a dime to unlock anything other than voices of war which is 10$ so every time I make a new account I spend those 10$ because the money goes to the voice actors.
MCC and 5 have so much better gameplay than Infinite it's actually funny to the point of being sad as well.
For a game called "infinite" I've never seen a more bland, uninspired, no passion, shooter game in my life. Then again I should've expected it when they named the game after the most mid Sonic character of all time.
Personally it's not even the microtransactions that turned me off of Infinite, no that was a big part, but the biggest part was all the lies and false promises, namely 343 saying there wouldn't be any premium currency in the game a few months before launch, and then when the summer beta went live you could see clear as day a premium currency in the form of credits.

But u can play the game to earn packs, and it insentivized 343 to add new sandbox additions to support their pay to win mode. Voice of war pack, shouldve been something 343 capitalized on with the ai voices in infinite, they shouldve had a le carte items in the store to purchase, and they shouldve had cross core enabled at launch to ensentivize more purchases. Halo infinite was legitimately unfinished at launch.

Microtransactions are the worst thing to happen in gaming for a long time.
Companies prioritise them over making a good game. Where as if you made it the other way round. (I.E Prioritise making it good/playable/not broken at launch) more people join more people play then you add MT's = more people buy them.

#1: Offering solutions you see to problems. It is absolutely valid to be unsatisfied with the state halo is in. However, merely complaining is unhelpful to developers and can incite aggitation among community members.
Constructive feedback allows you the opportunity to participate in changing halo for the better! While developers and companies dont always listen to their consumers-you want to make your voice heard if they happen to be listening.
#2: Using your platform to promote the voices of halo lovers. Thank you for fighting for the fans + Trying to protect us from predatory practices.
It is a noble thing to stand up for those who may not be aware theyre being taken advantage of.

No, barely anyone plays halo anymore and those that are left are whales and people who think the are pro players but can't even hit onyx. Halo Infinite barely has a real forge or customs community compared to the older games. All 343 has done in the last year and a half is release skins and put forge maps and modes in the game. Still no griffball. No assault. No CE Magnum, no playable elites. Game doesn't even have a third of the vehicles or weapons that Halo 5 had. All skins in Halo Infinite should have been priced under 5$ it's Microsoft we aren't going to pay $30 for skins to a company that makes billions every year and can't even develop a leveling system or even challenge unlock armor. 😂 the people who think the next game will magically be free of all the 343 decision making are delusional.

Even when we were getting content, it felt like the bare minimum. A couple new maps, shroud screen, dmr - none of that would ever get people to come back for long. I was waiting for the "big update" that just never came.

it's funny cause if the fanbase made the next halo, they would find a quick reality check that it isn't as easy as it seems and that there's tons of passion in the process, you're just somehow blind to the greed of capitalism, the investors, the higherups. MS closed down one of their best studios in Tango Gameworks and you seem to still think 343 is still the issue?

As a primarily campaign player, Infinite hasnt had my attention since I beat the campaign on Legendary several months ago. Havent touched it since. I go back to MCC every weekend though and do the weekly PvE challenges. I am trying to get all the cosmetic unlocks (which are all earnable in game only btw, no irl money) via only PvE challenges.
we all know Microsoft is the reason the microtransactions are so damn expensive and so aggressively pushed onto the consumer.
The only feedback they listen to is their own analytics.

I am so glad I dropped this game couple months ago. I refuse to give 343 a single red cent.
at this point, to me the game is just a 3d spartan designer. Whenever i play the actual game i just play firefight because with sbmm how it is i just get matched against better players who play much more and im unable to improve. the game feels empty now that its just cosmetic updates i cant afford and all my friends have moved on from the game. The only fun part of the game for me anymore is firefight and firefight isnt even a test of skill anymore to see how long you can go. now its just a tedious task. keeping them off the hill.
Even firefight is getting sketchy. I've been trying to play one firefight match a day for the SP when I get a chance, but I've had some absolutely atrocious teams. Either people going immediately afk - i guess because that games the system and they still played - or they're just trying to teamkill or being totally unproductive. Like who gets only six kills on grunt firefight?

It's bad enough that the Spartan Surplus Operation was cancelled*, seeing the cosmetic rewards in its pass in the Shop as paid items was a shock to say the least.
*(Yes, yes, it was replaced by Anvil which has more free cosmetics than Spartan Surplus did, but still)
It's true, forgers are getting burnt out and the reality is, not everyone's map is going to make it into matchmaking so where do they turn to? the custom game browser but oh wait, it's broken and barely anyone plays on it. So that's even less incentive to make maps.
MCC's custom browser is so great why cant Infinites work like that and improve upon it.
This is what happens when people are trained to accept free-to-play live service games over the last 10 years, everyone now expects constant content updates for free. Halo Infinite was always about infinite, profitable growth for Microsoft, nothing else. The name fits, really. Just shows how Microsoft sees Halo as nothing less than a cash cow.

I have said this on videos before, but I predominantly blame the consumers for buying into this system.
As you said yourself near the end, the devs don't want to do it, but the reality is the executives tell them they have to because they know that people will spend the money. At the end of the day, the only way it will stop happening is if the general population as a whole stops feeding the endless money machine and says "No, give us a good feature complete game before you get any money from us."
While people continue to spend, shop systems of this sort will continue to be implemented. Even changing laws doesn't help. Look at what happened when European countries started banning loot box type things. They just moved to selling the stuff directly.

Being a diehard infinite player, like i literally haven’t played any other shooter since it’s release, im pretty satisfied with the fact that I haven’t purchased anything from the store other that the single time I paid for the season pass (used SP credits to unlock all the others)
Although I still feel ripped off for spending $60 on the dogshit campaign. Wish I just used gamepass like everyone else
I still prefer hardcopy disc cause i can lend it to other people to play. But yea same here. F2P multiplayer (not even season battlepass). Paid for hardcopy campaign.

Thanks for making this video blitz. As a forger myself I almost feel like im living in that Thanos meme "fine I'll do it myself" when it comes to content in halo infinite. Im desperately trying to put together some fun gametypes and maps to bring people into this game, because the sandbox is a lot of fun. The content drought has pushed so many people out of the game and even now when you look at the CGB, even the most popular maps with 10s of 1000s of plays are stuggling to get full lobbies.
Meanwhile MCC's CGB is alive and well (which I am happy for I just wish it was the same for infinite). I released 6 maps during my time forging for MCC WHILE doing a Bachelors degree in architecture. They have achieved 1000s of downloads and immensely proud of that, especially after pouring in hundreds of hours into each map.
Now with forge in infinite, the texturing options and universal scaling of almost any object has lifted the ceiling by orders of magnitude. The only way you would get more freedom for game development than Infinite's forge would be unreal engine. I have a couple of linear infection maps in development and they have surpassed 400 hours of forging EACH. Im a one man band doing what I can for the community of a game I desperately want to enjoy.
I have so so many cool ideas that I WILL execute on. I just hope 343 can drive up the player engagement that this game deserves and that the microsoft execs listen to the community.

Love you Remy, but as long as there are chumps buying the shop trash for stupid prices 343 won't change a thing. It's the new business model; pander to whales and give zero trucks about the fans. Not only that, 343 has the added bonus of letting forgers do their job for them, so they don't have to spend any of the shop proceeds on developing content. All while literally manipulating wins and losses. Why anyone would still support 343 or Halo Infinite (or AAA gaming as a whole for that matter) is beyond me. Speak with your wallets and your game choices people.

Is there a well known Public Figure, Actor etc who is high profile and a known Gamer, Keanu Reeves maybe, who could go on record about this and maybe embarrass 343 into not destroying Halo ? The upper management doesn't seem to care about low to mid level bad Press coming from inside The Community, maybe something from the outside would get their attention. As long as they are making a Paycheck they will ignore Gamers. They see us as walking wallets, maybe a Celeb pointing them out by name would hurt enough for it to work.

It sucks that this happened to halo of all things. Halo was such a staple video game. The first summer blockbuster game was arguably halo 3, and it is basically responsible for the start of or popularization of MLG and E-sports in general.
People used to put master chief next to mario in terms of brand recognition.
343 straight up did everything they possibly could to ruin this franchise. It really sucks because 343 has the ability to give us what we want, and they just wont do it because they want money.
In the long run, this hurts their business. Im not going to buy anything that has to do with halo ever again, and I know theres a lot of people in that boat with me.
And we dont want to be in that boat, but we really just cant stand what has happened to halo. Its a soulless shell of its former self. A shop with a game atatched to it. It sucks, it makes me sad, and it makes me mad to think about.

I’m not at all surprised that this is where Infinite and 343 have ended up, and I’m glad I didn’t stick around for it. I can’t think of a Halo game that I’ve interacted less with than Infinite.
I love halo very much and it has a special place in my heart, but I've grown so tired of 343 but mainly Microsoft messing with things, that I'm not coming back until the next game is released. Even then I'm not coming back unless the fanbase still likes said future game at least a couple months after launch.

At this point, I don't even blame 343, I blame the community for just buying into whatever 343 says. They screwed up so many times before infinite, actually name me 1 halo game by 343 that launched well, the closest to that is halo 4. With the track record like that why would anyone in their right mind take them at their word? Its like if you have a friend that wants to go out together but always arrives 3 hours late, and he or she has done it 3 times in a row and said 'I won't make the mistake again' every single time. And then when you decide to go out with said person the person is 3 hours late again, at this point, I feel it is the fault of the person believing that the same would not occur again. So far every time 343 has screwed up, they do something small to get in the good grace of the community and it seems that the community forgets that they still screwed up royally and need to prove themselves.
FFS bring back commendations for armour unlocks
I wish 😑 I miss those days where you could unlock cool armor like Security, Hayabusa, Achilles, Helioskrill and the commendations unlocks Halo 4 a 2nd Halo 5 had for things like weapons skins or armor trim variants was actually an excellent idea it just needed the reach armor system to make it a fully realized progression system for cosmetics
@@infernaldaedra tell me about it and even if you can't unlock it make it purchasable for like 2 dollars that would be good but for doing the commendation you get bonus xp
@@welford2k10 Here's the thing. Lots of players want to earn their skins because it isn't the same as just buying something from the shop. Anyone can buy a skin but having a full Vidmaster set or Achilles usually meant you actually were good at the game.

These people arent loyal, they're delusional, in denial, that there is still hope for Halo. I used to have hope, but i grew up and realized, they dont care for halo themselves, or care about us as loyal fans.
The community should create its own halo games instead of waiting for something drinkable from 343

I started playing XDefiant recently. It was refreshing to feel like the game was happy to see me and wanted me to have a good time instead of just wanting money. Having decent menu music is really nice too.

It seems like 343 has one of the easiest jobs in game development, the fanbase is stating EXPLICITLY what the fans want, what they'd pay for and what theyd come back for, and they just keep doing the complete opposite

Considering how they haven't listened in years, why would they start now? They obviously have their own game in mind and are doing with it as they please. If Halo ever comes back from the fire, I doubt I'll even be alive to see it happen at this point honestly. Atleast I still have the memories of the good times I suppose.
I’ve gone from playing Halo daily since release, to not having played it in months. I’m unsure if I’ll return to infinite. I’ve been playing Elden Ring DLC, an example of how the support a game after release, by making amazing content to engage players, not drive them away with monetisation focused updates.
