I have a halo strap, but also ordered this. Using the Quest 3 without any facial plate at all is fun, but very very wobbly. Something like this is well worth the money for a much more stable fit while also having that extra peripheral vision.
How do you feel about it compared to the halo strap. I am in between atm of getting this or a halo strap (already have a regular elite shape battery strap)
@steinscamus8037 I'm still using the halo strap either way so this may not be helpful, but I can say it's a very stable fit at the cost of it being far more uncomfortable than the standard face cushion. Too uncomfortable for me, but your milage may vary.
@norfolknwhey4787 Using a bobo m3, hardly a bad halo strap. It's going to wobble no matter what you use when most of the weight is completely unsuspended in front of you.
I use my quest 3 without any facial interface. The bobo head strap takes the weight perfectly and the facial interface is not necessary. You can even move the lenses closer to your face that even with virtual environments you don't even notice the interface is missing.
@@ivan-j4l9x that sounds great and I’ll have to give it a try. My main focus has been portability, also I lay flat on a pillow a lot, and most of them are rather bulky in the back.
@JarrenRocks the newer model puts the battery higher so you can wear it lying down. Or just not use the battery. They've slimmed it down but yes it's still a little bulky. I use it lying dow regularly.
the main idea for a open face interface for me is for motion sickness, due to bad internet, while playing pcvr wirelessly, there is a lot of lag and moving around has a slight lag and having an open face interface would let me be able to see around how I move in relation to physical space so I dont get motion sick and then motion sick again after playing in vr due to irl not having the lag there is in vr
@JarrenRocks something I would want is maybe like a wifi pcie card or a USB 3 wifi antenna that could stream the wifi to my headset if it's possible, it might be cheaper than a whole wifi rooter and I could have it directly at my pc in the same room I play VR in
Quest Pro user experience by default, never bothered adding in light blockers I like knowing where I am in the room if I need to and still end up getting so sucked into the environment sometimes I forget where I am lol
I have the pro,and i use a motion Simulator, the Open design mixed the real life motion with the VR motion, its a way better than with an closed VR Headset.i have a 4 dof simulator with sway and yaw movement for Sim Racing
I am now using this as well. I love the concept, especially for two of my most frequent uses (fitness and productivity). My main issue is the shape of the Meta brand facial interfaces are a bit narrow for me, placing pressure directly on my cheek bones. But I will continue to use it until 3rd parties make their own iterations. I'm really glad Meta is addressing this need!
Great call out actually. I made a "first impressions" video (which has more views than the full review), and I covered more details there. I think my mistake was assuming people watched that video first. th-cam.com/video/iohnjQER0WE/w-d-xo.html
i'd also like to see my surroundings while being in vr. but i also prefer wipeable PU leather on my face. i still have a pu leather foam from my quest 2 that is attached with velcro. you think it'll fit?
Just tested my Quest PU strap on the Quest 3 interface, and it does work, though it's a bit larger than the default strap (fits comfortably though). This interface is only for the quest 3, so don't try to get it if you're planning on using it with the quest 2.
@@JarrenRocksyeah, since i need one attachable with velcro, i wondered if i can reuse my velcro attachable third party pu leather facial foam from my quest 2. it is still not clear to me what you are describing to me. especially the word STRAP irritated me, as i only know it in context of headstrap, or controller strap and not related to facial interface. did you attach one with velcro or just a silicone cover that you can put over the existing foam?
You would like the interface much more if you're using it with a Halo strap especially the KKVR. I've been using this configuration for three days and it's utterly awesome
@@JarrenRocks looking at your setup, I think you can have the best of both worlds. Since you don't use a top strap, if you got the Bobo or the KKCOB (my personal choice) , it would be a quick change of your straps. Should take about 10 seconds to swap between the two straps. This has the MAJOR advantage of making the headset wildly more comfortable so you will use it more often at home for more things than you normally would. Comfort is king in VR. Now with all that said, combining that with this new facial interface you now have a different comfort scenario that wasn't available to us before. I've actually tried your exact setup as well as every strap on the market and pretty much every facial interface I could get my hands on. As for head straps, The KKCOB is only like 50 bucks, I promise you, switching back and forth between the two straps will change your VR experience dramatically encouraging you to produce much more content. Like I said The more comfortable device is the more you will use it for more things. Feel free to I'm me, I'll send you a pick of the halo set up I got with this interface, and the quick loop I found for the top strap if you want to use it at anytime to make swapping even that much faster

Calling it a passthrough facial interface is so confusing lol hollow gasket is a much more intuitive name.
I’ll be honest I’ve never used the word gasket to refer to any part of a VR interface. But that does sound like cool Hollow Knight DLC.
