Thanks for this video, everyone one on reddit were only recommending the AMVR one, but these magnetic ones I prefer over the AMVR ones! Your video was of much help!
I was in a pinch, I didn't really know what to buy. So because of this video coming on my feed I decided to take a dive and see what it's like! Excited to try. Been using the stock quest interface for a while
From the stock interface, which is rather coarse, this should be a massive upgrade for you. When it arrives, please come back and let me and others know what you think of it
Thank you very much! Yes I use the Kiwi charging stand (you can find my video on it here: th-cam.com/video/OrkXzW0A7Tc/w-d-xo.html) and it doesn't interfere at all
Unfortunately you don't put it on your face and we cannot see if it fits your nose (I have a similar shape of nose as yours). This is critical for comfort ! My AMVR facial interface is putting pressure on the top of my nose and prevent me from breathing through my nose. So I don't really care about the magnetic replacement of the Globular, I want to know if it's a comfortable fit ! Please answer with your thoughts
For me, it's a very comfortable fit and this is still the facial interface I use today. I have no issues with the nose guard (which can also be removed). If you'd like me to take some photos and show you, let me know.
Hi Mark, at the end of the "Fitting" section, I actually cover this. I hadn't connected the main facial interface on one side correctly. Once everything is all pushed in, the magnetic section attaches with no issues and all is good. I hope this helps. Any other questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks for the review, seems interesting. If you are still using this do you continue to be impressed..? Hoping that the fitting of the face pads have not revealed any light leakage in use..? You have the same head strap as I do. So whilst wearing the head strap can you still tilt the headset up using the hinge whilst using this face pad or does it hit the forehead part of the head strap..? If you do have clearance to use the tilting option of the head strap are you limited to then NOT using the additional rings to increase the depth of the face pad for that to work, if that makes sense..! Thanks
I can confirm I am still using this and I'm very happy with it. No complaints. There are no light leaks when using it. The only source of light comes from the nose area but this is reduced thanks to the nose guards. I'm not currently using that headstrap as I'm testing another at the moment (hopefully have a video out on that next week), but from what I can remember, I had no issues lifting up the headset. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask here or join the Discord and I'll do what I can to help!
@@GameOnScorpio Thanks, appreciate your reply. It will be useful for us as we have a number of users sharing the one headset. Switching out to a different face pad should be easy. Each to their own, not easy to do either, would have been nice to select which pads to have.
@@Vimes. No problem at all. You could always try contacting them and seeing if it's possible to just have 3 of a specific type I guess. No harm in asking.
Tried the AMVR today and it is wide and light bleeds form the side maybe not so good for smaller narrow heads, this one maybe better for those of us that are not Big Heads, LOL
@remgaillou4437 so I've not tried wearing my glasses with them as I have prescription lenses, but it would all depend on the size/shape of your glasses. As mentioned in the video, you can add spacers to give more room for glasses though. If you want, tomorrow (as it's late here in the UK) I can try it with my glasses and let you know...?
@remgaillou4437 so I've just tested this for you and my glasses fit inside with this facial interface. I took my prescription lenses out and my glasses didn't touch the lenses and that's without using the spacer. So even with a spacer, you should be fine. You should 100% check out my videos on prescription lenses though. Once you play VR without your glasses, you'll wonder why you waited so long haha
I hear that the AMVR has one the best FOV in facial interfaces. How good is the FOV with F3, compared to the stock facial interface? I really would like to pump up the FOV as much as I can, but with Facial interface (not without anything).
@slibah the AMVR one probably does offer better FOV but don't take my word for that. I also use prescription lenses so I'm pushed a little further back anyway
Headstrap? I tested this with the halostrap shown in the video. I have used it with elite straps also due to turn testing other headstraps. Not had issues with either style
@@GameOnScorpio Crap ok, I'm only measuring 98 with the stock interface, trying to get as close to 110 as I can. Guess i'll neeed to 3D scan my head and make my own then. Thanks for replying!
Whilst I agree that having magnets in the lower section would make it more sturdy, it doesn't just come loose. Saying it needs magnets by the nose area to stay in place is implying that it's moving all over the place and just coming off, which isn't the case at all. If you're having this issue, you should definetely contact their support as that doesn't sound right at all.
What do you think about the F3 Magnetic Facial Interface from Globular Cluster? Will you be picking one up? Let's have a discussion!
I love the idea of the magnets swappable faceplate, I hope this catches on for other companies
@mbucek1 so do I! It really is a great way of doing it and I don't think I can go back to any other way
Yeah this is amazing product... eveyone shoukd try it...
