    Hi there, this is Sturmlocke from the EQ2 forums. Short but beautiful trailer! You picked out some beautiful looking dungeons and scenes this time around, and looking at them in 60 fps is a real treat for the eyes. Looking really sharp too and spot-on with the music. Some ppl said that both EQ and EQ2 were dead ten or fifteen years ago, and yet here we are, two decades later, getting one update and expac after the other. 18 expacs and still going strong. You guys are offering one of the last high adventure western mmo games out there, and I love it. As EQ players, we might not have the numbers, but we definitely have the heart and soul. Quality over quantity. Keep up the great work and congrats on the new server!

      @@xxxterpxxx I don't see it as that. I see this as a means for people to roleplay and enjoy the story (you know, the last three letters of "MMORPG") without all the ridiculous grind and boring leveling.

      Yes terrible that this is now considered an MMORPG.
      The problem with MMORPGs is that they have been removed from the actual core and the actual gameplay and mechanics there no longer work as a result and have been replaced by number wars and item swapping for bosses in instances in the so-called endgame.
      Basically, there are 2-3 fundamental interventions that immediately undermine all MMORPGs, flatten them out, and it's basically a different genre.
      1. single player quest system and general quest processing for quick XP.
      As a result, there is no more co-op and all the world runs around solo. There are no class dependencies and even healers and tanks are brought to damage and CC classes and supporters are no longer there, no one needs more.
      2. endgame focus and the whole sport there and the itemization via boss drops from instanced areas.
      This overriding of the actual MMORPG game and the world, just by simplicity of NPCs, solo play by solo questing, working through all the quests and only running through the area, which in turn leads to the fact that the players need mounts and porters, etc., to quickly handle this flood of processing tasks.
      This in turn makes supporter classes that have run speed increase worthless. It separates the players, each into their own first-person world, and they all run out of time, working the games down, quickly to a monotonous endgame in which they then trade items and are sent to bosses.
      Nowadays, this end game is turned into an e-sport, with difficulty levels and stopwatches and bombing everything. The appeal of a dungeon in co-op mode and as a kind of evening-filling entertainment with your friends or randmos no longer exists.
      It's more like item hunting, achievement, comparison, fighting over every crap, perfection etc.
      The classes have all been made into a soup to be able to do justice to the comparison. They are balanced and also feel like constant progess.
      This is how a sports game works, not an MMORPG.
      3. itemization, store and general commercialization
      The games are designed for items that drop somewhere, or have to be earned and permanently replaced, because in this is the class development and no longer in the growth of the character age over his talents and this continues even at maximum level. This prevents the profession system from MMORPGs was completely broken in the item-producing professions and the support professions such as alchemist for the sport endgame were changed accordingly.
      Since professions thus only serve the end game and not as a second area of the Items supplies and the Itemsdrops at least is equal, they are no longer a real content, but weak accessory.
      In addition, the focus of the strong RPG with slow character development of the skill, on "replace item A with item B and you've become stronger.
      If the character takes off all the items, he is a laughing stock and never really developed anymore, his talents are still the same in everything even visually, nothing ever happened again.
      Only the items are the king. They glow insanely, are displayed oversized and visually polished to offer then also in the store.
      A simple method that you can always expand and people can then buy their prestige items. Most of all, the creators would still like to see if you can also buy your development in the store, or become stronger when you buy something than those who do not buy.
      This still reject the players but strongly, because it goes against the sense of an RPG, to play for things and experience an adventure, instead of simply buying this... that just does not work.
      In general, the players are designed to reach and keep as large a group of buyers as possible. To generate maximum profits with simple means and this permanently.
      Our MMORPGs have been converted by capitalism to profit systems that have displaced the actual MMORPG and replaced it with an imposed other genre called Endgame and the mechanics of comparison and itemization in the competitive principle and a very flat world, where everything has been leveled what makes RPGs but just bad.
      With these mechanics, there will be no more good MMORPGs.
      MMORPGs work completely different and the way is the goal.
      Balancing there is not really, because the classes in coop and group play in the open world, need each other and it is then more fun and you get stronger, to then explore places that are not feasible alone.
      Thus, all Supporter and CC classes are then also playable and absolutely brilliant and popular.
      There are again these limits and restrictions that this genre needs and profession systems are again 2nd mainstay.
      The NPCs are real opponents again and every fight is exciting again because the enemies are on the same level.
      The game is very slowed down and you take the world again as a destination, as home and people become friends again and build real guilds, no communities of convenience as currently, where there is hardly any bond.
      Basically, a real MMORPG is a completely different genre than today's modern MMORPGs that only pretend to be an MMORPG, but are not...

    I'm glad to see you guys are still updating the game and all, the trailer was cool t see and it looks interesting! ^ ^ Since your updating, can you guys please add new mounts and pets to the shop? It hasn't been updated in freaking years. ;-; And well everything looks boring in the shop. It would be really nice to see new and better looking designs we players can buy, I know it takes a lot of work and budget but I'm sure people will buy them in the store, cause I would totally buy a mount or a pet from the store if it looks really nice and all. A change would be nice.

    eq2 endgame ..... everyones gear is the same. everyones weapons are the same everyones mounts are the same. everyones runes are the same. nobody needs heals. nobody needs tanks. nobody needs each other. its a solo game with bots and mercs lol .... final thought ... your virus protection STILL declares it a virus.

      @@MrKaraal Alltså, det är ett amerikanskt spel och då kanske man inte kan kräva att dom ska gå tillbaka att göra en rysk server igen, (vilket inte fungerade så jätte bra på den tiden med alla exploits och skit som på gick då) med det sjunkande spelar antalet per server vilket lede till en merge mellan dom ryska servrarna och splitpaw (EU) som tyvärr visade sig att den ryska communityn inte fungerade med resten av världen. Men kanske du har rätt än då? En rysk plattform för bara för er kanske är bäst för alla 😉

      @@matssturesson268 у русского PVP сервера было очень активное сообщество и никаких проблем. Уменьшение количества игроков началось после того, как разработчики испортили игру, особенно PVP состовляющую. Слияние серверов окончательно убили интерес к игре для большинства русских, но к тому времени игра уже и без этого изжила себя и разработчики с каждым обновлением ее только ухудшали.
