Such a helpful video /tutorial, Joni…as always !! I do have a couple of different types of fan brushes.…but as a ‘newbie’ I would very much welcome your recommendations for them if you have a favourite, etc. I see that Craftamo have your lovely brushes available but they don’t include a fan brush, and in any case, at the moment, I do have a few various types to be getting on with….but do love the fan brushes and really want to practice with them. Thank you, once again ! 🤗💕🤩
I am 83 and going to try and paint on canvas. I have never painted a thing in my life, but you make it look easy. I want to paint a large canvas of red poppies. Would you have a tutorial for painting poppies? I have lots of small canvas pieces to practice on. Thank you soooooo much for sharing!
Hi ,Joni well you have just comfirmed what i said to the wife about me using to much paint. I seem to use to much and to thick. so keep these great videos coming ❤ oh I just got to get a stiff Fan brush my few are soft and are good for the grass but as you show us not so good for the trees. again thank you
Oh, question (or 2, lol)!! I dont know if you mentioned it at any time, but is the fan brush you are using a bristle brush or is it synthetic? Which filament is preferred in a fan brush for painting landscapes and trees?
I notice you always seem to use mars black. What's the difference between that and oxide black? Is it like titanium and zinc white? Thank you for this video!
I’ve never seen oxide black in acrylics but I do find mars black is a very nice shade to use. I’ll have a look for oxide next time I’m shopping, I’m curious to try it! Stay tuned …
I’m having trouble finding a filbert 30 and a flat 20. Can you tell me the width? Can I get them from you without having to buy a whole set, which I don’t need?
@@joniyoungart unfortunately, we don’t have a Michael’s I did try Hobby Lobby, Jerry’s, Dick's Blick and Amazon. Maybe if I new the width, I could find them that way. You are so sweet to respond so quickly and being so very helpful. I’ll look at Michael’s on line.

That's interesting! I can never find mars black so I just ordered some on Amazon!😄 I will have to swatch both and see the differences.

Only sets are sold at this time but you can find both these sizes at many fine art stores including Michaels 🖌️👍🎨
