- #japaneseculture - Okuni Shrine Archery (Kyūdō) Festival 御弓始祭
The Okuni Shrine (小國神社, Okuni jinja), is a Shinto shrine in the town of Mori, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
This festival is to help with the new crops about to be planted in springtime and these archers will bring God's blessing to the crops through the arrows.
Japan has a long and amazing history so it is interesting to see these kinds of festivals that started hundreds of years ago.

Very interesting. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. I know this stuff isn't really that interesting to most but for me it was because usually as a local (or even as a foreigner) you don't get to go inside to see the ceremonies but it was a matter of being in the right place at the right time with a camera. haha
@@yeahnahproductions I find it interesting, partly because I have an Asian wife (although she is from the Philippines, not Japan), so I tend to take an interest in things like that. Good thing you were there with that camera! From what you said, it sounds like that was a Once In a Lifetime opportunity!
Are they not angry to get hit😊
I am sure they will be a little annoyed to get hit but at the same time they trust the archer and plus they want to get an arrow so there must be a bit of risk and speed to get one. Interesting to watch and listen to them talk about it when there.
