  • Ng On-yee starts the game playing top-class Snooker, though her performance decays later against an inspired Ronnie, who plays nearly to perfection.
    Match date: 07 October 2022
    All statistics are as of the game date unless otherwise noted.
    Cesar Muroya created a unique editing format to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.
    This format is not intended to substitute the full version but make Snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter-length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy Snooker at any time.

    I appreciate Cesar for his statement about the size of snooker balls as compared to 8balls, so many commentators make it a point to point out that the “jaws” of the pockets on snooker tables are narrower than those of 8 ball pockets. Making it seem like snooker players were at a disadvantage when actually ball size compensates for pocket size!!

    • @fatroberto3012
      @fatroberto3012 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Don't be ridiculous. I play both games. There is no comparison. Potting balls on a pool table is a hundred times easier than on a snooker table. If you hit the rail (cushion) on a snooker table before the pocket, then 99/100 the ball does not go in. The only pots that are more difficult on a pool table are narrow angles into side pockets.

    It would be lovely for there to be a women's tour but it's about money and enough women with enough snooker talent to entice punters through the door to watch them. Audiences are not likely to be big enough and sponsorship would be limited. Unfortunately the men's tour could not justify subsidising a women's tour, say in the way that NBA subsidises the WNBA - the WNBA runs at a loss because of one simple fact - it's just not good enough to be commercially successful if it was forced to stand on its own two feet. On-yee has got talent and I wish her all the best, but for the time being she is going to have to learn her craft against the men - and she'll be a better player for it. Snooker is one of the very few sports where there is no reason why a woman could not be as good as the men - I'd love to see someone like On-yee beat Ronnie O'Sullivan in a ranking final. Truth is we're a few decades of hard graft away from that kind of scenario coming true.

    • @Harry-jz1dn

      Truth is, there's no money in men's snooker either if you're not in the top 16. Most pro players barely survive with travel costs and poor prize money. Nothing if you're kicked out in the first round. Hardly anything in the next round if you're eliminated then. Ronnie and many pros are very verbal on how hard it is to survive in the fringes. The yearly salary of a pro snooker player is £16k

    There should be a separate circuit for women. They deserve to have their own trophies and monetary prizes as well. A monetary prize can attract more women to this sport.

    Just don't do what tennis has done -- interspersing male and female tennis in the same broadcast (and even short changing men's coverage while giving more complete coverage to women's matches)

    There is only one player who came close to white ball control and domination on the table and that was Stephen Hendry if Ronnie with his pure skill the best ever had Stephen's calm killer instinct and pure Professionalism the best ever . He would never of lost a match.

    Even in this sport women can't compete with men which has nothing to do with physical ability & they need equality.

    I was pretty amazed to learn recently that there is nothing stopping women playing snooker against men, at the crucible etc, it’s purely a lack of talent pool, very odd, look at Ronda Rousey etc, or women military snipers, strange they can’t or at least one, can’t cut the level, makes no sense, just a numbers game I suppose given snooker clubs are basically men’s clubs, still weird, a motivated female with natural talk could be one super super famous and rich, it’s just an opportunity waiting

    Your possible break count on the 4th and 5th frame were off. After you posted the possible breaks, Ronnie potted the pink instead of the black, which made your possible break correct, but either frame if he had potted the black next he would have scored higher than your "posted possible break".
