Room 222 was an inspiration for myself a student of the public school system. It caused me to push myself to study harder in order to be able to enter College and Higher Education even though I thought I wasn't intelligent enough to accomplish this. The costs were so worth it and the experiences even though I didnt have good guidance counseling, financial backing from my own family or even encouragement. I paid my own way by working, taking out a student loan plus earning a Pell Grant, and by buying my own car and auto insurance. Completely independent from my fathers refusal to help me in the first place. Students have it rough when starting out growing to adulthood and personal responsibility of higher education endeavors and facing the exorbitant costs of lifes goals .
Glad you found a source of inspiration to draw upon and had the vision and discipline to go after it. Not a very pleasant experience but it helps you to encourage anyone else going through the same. Your journey can't be denied or discredited. Well done
I went to a high school in South Bend Indiana , the city where Loyd Haynes was from and knew one of the principals The school even looked the same , In fall 1970, as taking US History in of course room 222, for parents night and the next day ,,.. Lloyd Haynes came in as a surprise . I even did the double take in the hallway- just like in the intro, on seeing him said ' hi Mr. Dixon" and then a what? and of course, when we got to US History, that afternoon there he was and the first thing he said was "yes this is room 222, and yess Us History". It was great .
I was in grade school when it began its run. And I have no doubt that it influenced some of my thinking as I was growing up. We desperately need more programming that unites us. This government/media sanctioned divisiveness that's being pushed needs to go.
I always enjoyed watching Room 222.. but it sure wasn't like the high school I entered at about the same time this show aired. We didn't have any hip teachers smiling and saying "let's rap for a while" when we were doing our history lessons lol
This show would have held on better but the film and sound quality was so poor. Compare it to the film and sound quality of The Brady Bunch, which was on the air at the same time as Room 222.

Jerry Goldsmith composed the theme music for the show.
Loved it always! 222
When tv shows and Entertainment Tonight had “class”. Not anymore!
I had such a crush on K.Valentine!!!! Who didn't as a teenager 😊
Never thought much of this show while growing up, but enjoyed it on Aspire although the network didn't have every episode.
Judy Strangis went on to become Dyna Girl on Saturday Morning TV.
And she was Mean Mary Jean for Plymouth Dusters.
I remember room 222 the TV so funny all the characters that were on that

I agree.
This show was part of television portraying life as it should be , rather than life as it is !!!
Hard to believe that is Bernie
You might wanna change that 50th anniversary title.

When was this aired? Looks like the late 80’s.
Thank you for watching... this Room 222 segment aired on Entertainment Tonight circa 1993-ish. - Television Vanguard staff
You are 20 years off🤣🤣
@@DeliCaines Not Room 222 but Entertainment Tonight’s airing of the cast of the show.

And the sound editor should have been fired. It was like they never heard of sound loops.
