    Murtasim is the perfect balance.

Murtasim is the kind of guy I would romanticise about. Murtasim is the perfect rich, hot, flirty, 'hates everybody but you' kinda character but Saad is the kind of guy i would want to marry in real life considering he is kind, generous, respectful and a green flag which is necessary for a healthy relationship. But in a fictional world, Murtasim is the man i would choose and prefer watching, reading and romanticising about. I think the reason why people would prefer murtasim over saad is because saad is like the hero who would save the world even if it means sacrificing their relationship but murtasim is like the villain who would burn the world for his love and women crave being prioritised like that... Some prefer the attraction and passion that murtasim would bring and some prefer the stability and peace that saad can offer.

I think that you haven't had enough depth to understand Murtasim, & by with that I mean, at all. Murtasim is ALL about stability & peace, how can you stereotype him into being a man who only holds passion with his form & all things material? Is it because of the OST, lol? You can't just love Murtasim or fantasize about his form & the world that he belongs to; Murtasim is an absolute divine masculine, to limit him to his looks, money & his banter with Meerub is such a disrespect to Murtasim.
From the recent episode, I came to love how Murtasim knows Meerub's essence to be matching with his own - a woman with upright morals, strong, is innately soft & a compassionate soul, how she uses her voice against the wrongs, & more. He has watched her undergo such a huge trauma of being abandoned by her parents, who weren't her actual parents, & he honors her strength to have endured that & how she's staying with him when she never wanted to in the first place; eventhough she had no other choice, she's still so honorable to him, how beautiful is that. Murtasim is teaching men to be mindful of how a woman puts up with going through such magnificent changes when she leaves her home to start a new life & that she is meant to be honoured & taken as their equals. He knows that Meerub is innately good, but since she doesn't like him, doesn't trust anyone enough & has been deprived of her safest love - she won't let her guards down & open up her heart, her most authentic feminine nature. For her to do that, surrender to his love, feel safe & honoured again, he's trying his best to win her trust, be his most divine self & let her flow into a deep rest of his love & let go of fighting with everyone & what twists her life has taken. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WRITING, I'm so so so happy to be finally seeing a divine masculine in our dramas, what an example, ahhh. ♥️ Murtasim & his balance - he's soft yet strong, just like water, he is absolutely worthy of being called a 'man', a true hero.
It's sad how our audiences & people reviewing like Amna Isani limit a Murtasim's passion to simply the 'sizzle' in his looks & fiery exchanges with Meerub. Please look beyond Tere Bin's OST & that fire that only revolves around his physical form, I wish Amna could look beyond that too, but sadly, she likes Beta Males who have no depth, no expression of their soul.

So is Murtasim, if one has enough depth to go beyond his physical form & less desperation to discuss only & only that. Murtasim is a divine masculine, sadly, Something Haute & specifically Amna Isani have other priorities to pinpoint in Murtasim's character. They just can't happen to see beyond the surface. They have stereotyped Murtasim's fire to be solely limited to his physical form & how that adds onto their viewing experience.

Saad and Murtasim both take stand for their partner, both are good.
Murtasim's money makes him glamorous, which may make him attractive but as a partner both absolutely do not let down.
For a guy of Saad's stature, as a partner when someone grows with him in money, maturity and stature, that understanding is not something that one can gain just with attraction.

MPHT:I don't think Saad can do anything at this point that doesn't make him a villain if he makes a move on maheer everyone is still going to blame him for not understanding her feelings if he stops her and tells her not to think about areeb as she is his wife everybody is going to accuse him of being a toxic alpha male if he had confessed to her in the beginning she would have still blamed him bcoz then she would think that he married her bcoz he had ulterior motives and didn't want her to end up with Areeb.
And Saad and Murtasim can not be compared because first meerab wasn't in love with anyone prior to her marriage with murtasim secondly the tropes in these two dramas are really different. The chemistry and friction in an enemies to lovers novel or drama is always greater compared to a friends to lovers novel or drama.
And I actually admire Saad because even though he is a good person he has self respect. If Saad was clingy and kept forcing maheer to fall in love with him when she was already in love with Areeb he would have become the male equivalent of Haya for me.
Between murtasim and Saad everybody would choose murtasim but between Saad and Areeb Saad is a better choice.

I think if not for wahaj and the OST, this drama wouldn't have been this much popular. For me, Wahaj as Saad is the only saving grace of this drama as of now.
Two completely different characters (Saad and Murtasim), and wahaj acing both the characters with his brilliant performance. You just look at wahaj's face and you can tell if he's Murtasim or Saad. When I see Murtasim I forget Saad and vice-versa. That's the level of wahaj's performance 👏

Yes exactly. Even Tere bin would be a trash without wahaj and yumna. They seem so innocent so far from any vulgarity even in most intense moments like in episode 20 there fight over an intimate topic could easily become over the top but it didn't. Far from that it was so innocent crisp spontaneous and enjoyable. Both Saad and murtasim could never be watched and loved if it was not wahaj doing these characters.

Yuhni - I have been in the US for 22 years. I am originally from India. I 100% remember every single dish. I believe I commented on that review raising the same questions - its so ODD that these American returned folks forgot basic things like Kitchidi. Forget ME, my own children who are born here KNOW what kitchidi is. The whole premise of the American returned Pakistanis is done by a script writer who has no clue this works in real life. Yuhni is honestly questioning my intelligence at every turn and it is so sad NOBODY cared to do some research into this. I am pointing out the exact same things each episode that you are all bringing up. It is honestly so idiotic.
One more thing - she did all this "research" about Pakistan yet, she didn't know that it was a REALLY stupid idea to sit on a bike with a stranger? Even in the US you don't do this.

Also MPHT is a one sided love story, it's mostly about Saad and they haven't even started a love story for them yet. The story is slow, yes ,a nd some parts of the story lacks, maybe thats why Saad's character doesn't hits the same.

MPHT: Starting from Humsafar to present day dramas, same situation is repeated where the hero has a desperado cousin, who is willing to stoop to the lowest level to get the boy. She is shown as the educated, modern, arrogant girl who happily takes insults from her cousin, has no self respect or dignity. This is the most common and worst kind of stereotyping in our dramas. The cousin in this drama would go a step further by gate crashing the Walima, making a fool of herself. Is this how our writers see educated, modern girls as?

Saad is not boring but bit of his characteristics he is a kind of silent person and ofcouse circumstances made him. we have seen him being funny in starting episodes. How can Saad show even a bit of happiness when he got to marry Maheer only becoz of family reputation and knowing that Maheer may somehwere she cant stop herself being in love with areeb OR!! maybe she would forget areeb after marriage but wouldnot have courage to love him after areeb case.
that dialogue - Wahh! saad tumne bhi kya kismat payi, mohabbat mili bhi toh khairat ki tarah...!
this completely discribed the valid reason for SAAD being SAD in recent episodes
I'm sure Saad's character going to devepoled more its just starting there is lot more to watch
SAAD or MURTASIM : for me both are THE HIGHEST STANDARD!! I can't choose between them. Both are pole apart to each other but the BEST THING! about saad and murtasim is that they both are soo in love and highly respectful for HIS GIRLS.
both are really well written characters. and the another important reason viewers in love with both becoz of

both saad and murtasim are loved, the only difference is that u want murtasim to put his shawl over your shoulders and embrace you whereas u want to wrap saad in a blanket give him a cup of hot chocolate and his diary so he can write his poetries. u want to be protected and taken care by murtasim but you want to protect and adore saad. i personally love both, they are written and portrayed amazingly!
i would also like to add, i find it really funny how people (me too) compare saad with murtasim (i know one of the reason is because both are played by wahaj) but not with areeb... saad is that next door good guy but in the story areeb is supposed to be the more attractive and desirable guy out of the two (like maheer chose an areeb over a saad) and also different characters in the story have praised/desribed areeb (like uspe proud and arrogance suit karti hai, areeb to kisi ladki ko lift nahi karwata, uspe larki marti hai, itna ameer hai etc...) then why us as an audience don't find areeb appealing? if some people (could never be me) find saad "boring" because he is too good, too white, or "beta male" as amna said then in the same story u have a guy who is not this at all, areeb has darker shades and maybe he could be considered "alpha male" based on the attitude, aggression and actions that he has showed as of now and on top of that he is filthy rich and maybe flirty as well then why is he not being considered at all in this race of desirable male leads? just a question that pops in my mind, i would love to know other people's opinion too

First, I think ki Zaviyar is not convincing in the role. His performance is not upto the par, nor is he able to portray the swag like Wahaj did with Murtasim. Secondly, Wahaj is more conventionally attractive than Zaviyar (who is very attractive in his own right, I'm only making the comparison to explain). So Saad both has the good nature as well as the looks, also if we consider the soulful performance of Wahaj, I think this is why the comparison is not working. The casting in the show was not right. Wahaj is honestly outshining both Hania and Areeb, also his character is written so well. So I think the director and writer's intention of having the audience in addition to the female lead torn between Areeb and Saad is not working. The drama was supposed to subtly establish how Saad is a better life partner for Maheer after a to and fro between both, but because of the casting Saad seems miles better than Areeb, and it is also making Maheer look bad for ignoring Saad for Areeb, when to us viewers Saad is so obviously better.

In the true sense of the word a man has to be Chivalrous, kind, polite, mild mannered, composed yet strong, protective and firm. She came to the Rukhsati telling her mom, I am moving on, so she truly wanted to be in a marriage with Saad. When Saad said this dost thing twice, she said yes ab ham dost HEE rahenge, because she thinks he is in a forced marriage, and that’s why she is saying that tumhare sath ziadti hogaye, tum soe nahi, doosro ki ghaltiyo ki saza tumhe mil gaye. That's a really good point. I don't think that's been discussed and would add a whole new dimension to this - what if Maheer wants to shake off her past - Areeb was a whirlwind romance anyway- but she's interpreting Saad giving her space as his inability to come to terms in a marriage she thinks he was forced into? That would also explain why she thought he would refuse at the wedding, which we all interpreted as further proof of her selfish and cowardly nature.

Totally enjoyed your banter over Saad 😁 I guess Saad is very natural and relatable....If we think we may find examples of people like Saad in real life. Murtassim is pure fiction...I mean we hardly come across *good* guys throwing cups of juice when angry. If someone does that we would never want them in our lives . However, he has all the points going in his favor when we look at him as a work of fiction. He has the swag, the persona of a classic Hero . The tragedy with poor Saad is that the world of MPHT is so unnatural with characters like Areebs family and Maheers parents that its hard to see the story as a slice of life drama...Had this been a realistic fiction where all characters had normal traits and the story flow was natural Saad would have been the most attractive character in my opinion.
Anyways, Wahaj is commendable as both and I am amazed how he has so many expressions to exhibit that he hardly crossovers either of his character while performing 👏

@Hassan: Only because you asked so nicely! :)
Murtasim is not really the opposite of Saad. They are both incredibly loyal and responsible men. It is our natural instinct as women to look for these qualities in our partners.
I don't think Saad has any quality that Murtasim lacks. Murtasim would also step away if Meerub loved another man. He tried so hard to avoid marrying Meerub in the beginning, simply because she didn't want to marry him, and even though there was no other man in her life.
On the other hand, Saad could learn a few qualities from Murtasim about handling things, especially communication.
Murtasim voices his thoughts to Meerub. When he was hurt that Meerub didn't come to see him in the hospital, he tells her clearly that. This quality allows quick conflict resolution.
Saad never says anything to Maheer that could hurt her. I mean, she has been so selfish since the nikkah. The situation has been tough on everyone, not just her. Even if Saad can't tell her that he loves her, he should just call her out about these things in private. I think he doesn't because he has put her on a pedestal.
Murtasim loves Meerub, but he has not put her on a pedestal. They have a more equal relationship. So, even though he defends Meerub to death in front of others, he has no issues with speaking his mind with her.

I might have a different upbringing than most, but Urdu was really fixated in our household from a young age, despite living in Canada for almost 21 years now. I think this is also why I find it even more unrealistic. As someone who’s lived his entire life abroad, I can proudly say that I can speak Urdu and some Punjabi fluently. There is no strange accent or concepts of the language that I don’t understand. Similarly, I know what kichdi is despite living here 🤷‍♂️. I understand it’s different in everybody’s households but when you’re showing somebody who has moved away from Pakistan after being brought up there, they wouldn’t just forget everything. Similarly if Kim knows Urdu how does she not know “tum” vs “aap”. It’s the most basic concept of our language that we use “aap” for elders and respected people, etc. and it’s a huge part of our culture as well. These things simply don’t add up and take away from the drama. The saving grace is the chemistry between Maya and Bilal.

@@sabazeee5341 exactly, agar kisi ko thori si bhi Urdu aati hai to woh insaan aap aur tum me farq kar sak ta hai. Ye to bilkul basic concept hai Urdu mein. Not exactly a complex thing to grasp. Especially jab Kim ne Itni “research” ki hai to usko bohat kuch aana chahiye, lekin uski saari information ghalat hai. Har shalwar kameez wale bandey ko terrorist bolna to bohat ziada unrealistic hai. Itna to gorey nahin kehtey jitna Kim keh gayi hai 3 din main. Upar se, jub Maya ka accent hi itna ajeeb sa hai to bilkul aap ko lagta hai ke pata kahan se aayi hai. Agar American accent karna tha to Ushna shah ko lena chahiye tha because she is Canadian and could nail the accent. Agar British karna tha to Kubra khan ko lete and she would have nailed that. Hania and Wahaj have zero chemistry, despite all the romantic scenes, I see no sparks between them. Compared to Yumna and Wahaj, where they basically fight in every scene, Hania and Wahaj are so boring.

The whole drama is freaking boring, just few scenes of Saad are the saving grace but aren't strong enough to make someone stick to this

oh my god, yes I thought I was the only one who feels absolutely no chemistry b/w them, or maybe we're just comparing it to Wahaj & Yumna's explosive, sizzling chemistry. MPHT is getting beyond exhausting to watch, i'm tired of Maheer ka sog, Saad's same sad expression, his all sacrificing one-sided love, kahani suno every 5 mins, and Iiterally forward all the scenes with Areeb & his family.

Its understandable why Jemima Khan cant come to Pakistan but its weird that Sajal isnt doing screening for her film here. She and Adnan Siddiqui did for it Mom. There is absolutely no hype about this new film anywhere on online portals, even she didnt post about it on her instagram. Just retweeted one of Jemima's tweet about the release. Also, I dont understand this logic when she can give interviews to international media, then why not local media? It's just weird and it is going against her image.

Yes , you are right , I am a doctor in the UK and every doctor does know how to insert a basic cannula at least in a situation of urgency - even if you don't practice that on a daily basis because nurses usually do it in adults in the UK and maybe the US for all patients but I cannot buy that a neurosurgeon in any country would not be able to insert a cannula for a drip in a not so complicated patient
