Biscuits do not necessarily add strength, they are alignment tools, Dominoes and dowels add strength to areas where there will be added stress like chairs, book cases and tool chests. However the glues used today are excellent binders and the wood will break way before the glue joined seams will.

Helpful tip for those 90* corners, you should be able to find 90* connectors specifically designed for these cob strips that allow the continuous look of the LEDs. Although to be fair I’ve only dealt with static cobs for commercial purposes so they only have 2 rails, maybe 3 so you may be out of luck for the 5 but have a good hunt around anyway, I’m sure someone’s made them, often the strip manufacturer would make them as an optional accessory.

If you want to get 'more' light out of the LEDs behind the bed, lay down some strips of very reflective material, surrounding the LED strips. Something like silver coated Mylar tape/sheets -- or even just foil tape, you can play with the crinkly-ness for effect, keep electrical isolation in mind. Along with all that white paint on the wall, you'll easily double the lighting effect. I've used lengths of L-profile Aluminum, polished the inside surfaces of the L-profile & laid my LED strips inside -- beam that at a white wall = massive profit.

I love the look of these, and I really appreciate how much tech you managed to put into it. I would love to have furniture like this in my home, especially my office and living room. However I do want to put a more "lifestyle" issue to you; It's actually really bad to do stuff like gaming, watching TV etc in bed. It messes with your internal clock and can cause some sleep quality (and quantity) issues. Personally I have had much benefit from keeping devices away from my bed, and even keeping my reading outside of bed. The only reason my phone is even in the room is because it's my alarm and I want to be available for my emergency contacts. I also like to keep the inside of my furniture as dust-free as possible so maybe a dust cover on the back panel and more fitted drawers would be my preference. Also... a bottle/cup holder would be nice so you can take a sip of water without spilling or dropping the glass!
For a future project, might I suggest doing home office solutions? In my previous home I had a desk in the living room and it was just ugly and obtrusive to have two monitors and a gaming rig in the room. Given what you've done here and with the coffee table solution I'd like to see some way to have a minimalist desk that accommodates the dual screens and an ATX size PC without being obtrusive when they are not in active use. Maybe like a folding desk (kind of inspired by that tiny ikea table that folds down to the wall) or a dining table that has a big rectangular pillar containing the PC and some sort of folding table top or "pimp my ride" type screens that come up from the table when you need to do PC stuff... of course hiding the whole thing when you sit down to dinner and keeping gravy and wine from entering the electronics. Tall ask, I know :) But seeing you do this stuff makes me confident you can pull it off.

Gives me idea to get some of that security mirror sheet that are cheap and very thin. Cut them to put behind and even angle up to make the lights reflect up the wall a little brighter. Like a tiny ramp maybe just an inch on a beveled strip. Might work…probably.
For the see-through drawers. Could add a thin panel on back of drawer front. A sort of seal. 1/16 or 1/8 would be good. Easy enough to test too by just sticking a board in there. The bevel drawer pull still functions fine too.

For the back lights on the stands, or even the bed, I would have gone with a more powerful, controllable LED light source than strips. Not necessarily a BULB, but, at least something that's quite the bit brighter.
Strips DO have their place, but I've typically found them to not be as bright as I need or want them. I run a strip of LEDs along my bed side, facing the wall, because when they were pointed at the floor, I saw nothing as an improvement compared to just turning on the light. Now, I run dark colors (Blue, or red) on low settings and I see well enough. I have a touchable desk lamp to turn things on and off. But my stand is a 2x3 book shelf with cloth boxes that just hold/hide random junk.

"I found this heavy duty double sided tape" it is fun, that stuff is used in machine companies as low level sealing material and can hold pretty heavy metal plates with not too much material, A+ on 2M tape

love the project let me say that first. Would there be a way to make the inside drawer lights only come on when the drawer is opened? you could also add lights to the bottom edge of the bed for more lighting. just my initial thoughts. not that you asked but ya know. they do look great. I didn't see links for the modeling software

Man you are me but with more money and the equipment do do all these cool things. In high school I made a beautiful armoire and TV stand. I wish the technology is how it is today so I could’ve put cool things like that in it when I was a kid I got slot cars for Christmas and I took the lights off the tree and put them in the slot car for headlights. Haha

hi, I enjoyed your videos, especially modifying nintendo switch. I am curious if you can modify Nintendo Switch Lite with a big screen. Since the switch lite has a small screen and you cannot connect them to a big monitor or TV, people like me (getting older) have some difficulty enjoying it. I know it would be better to get an ordinary Nintendo Switch or OLED version, and I already have two of those. But would it be interesting to have Nintendo Switch Lite with a 10 inch screen?

I feel like the whole build, which looks very nice, is undercut by enormous drawer gaps & rather harsh-edged backlights. If those were in my room, the gaps would be the only thing I would ever see. Also, nightstands with wireless chargers are not some crazy new thing that nobody thought of

I think you could additively engineer some plastic parts to redesign the reveal that you mentioned allows you to see inside the drawer. If your wife is anything like mine, she's already sick of seeing her underwear peeking out 😂
I was also wondering if the magnetic chargers being aligned in such a way would interfere with one another. It would be cool to hear back from you about whether you get fast charging from all positions. Either way, if you can get charge however you drop your phone, it's a fair trade.
