  • If you buy premium tools then you want premium performance. At STIHL, we have a full range of 2 stroke engine oils available that have been developed to help you maintain the highest performance from your petrol power tools. In this video, we’ll take a look at the full range and help you decide which engine oil is best for you.
    🔶 STIHL Standard HP Engine Oil 🔶
    The STIHL standard HP engine oil is mineral-oil based and has been designed for the demanding needs of 2-stroke engines. It provides great lubrication, has excellent combustion properties and is suitable for all STIHL 2-stroke engines.
    🔶 STIHL HP Super Engine Oil 🔶
    Developed specifically for STIHL 2-stroke & 4-stroke engines, STIHL HP Super Engine oil is a semi-synthetic low smoke oil with low-ash additives.
    This oil is clean burning, reducing the deposits in the combustion chamber, piston head, muffler and exhaust ports, and delivering consistent high engine power and long unit life.
    🔶 STIHL HP Ultra Engine Oil 🔶
    The last in the range is STIHL HP Ultra Engine Oil. It’s a fully synthetic oil that is designed for long periods of use, even under the most demanding conditions. It has exceptional lubrication properties, a low-residue combustion, is low in sulphur and is biodegradable. It is highly recommended for STIHL 4-MIX engines, such as those in some of our petrol brush cutters and backpack blowers.
    Our HP Ultra engine oil is used in our premium ready-mixed fuel, MotoMix. It’s free from ethanol and contains almost no olefins or aromatic compounds. This combination of quality fuel and our STIHL HP Ultra oil helps to provide a reliable performance in your power tools at all times. MotoMix also has a 5-year shelf life when stored in the correct conditions.

    We use the HP super as it has a fuel additive to prevent fuel from going off. Non of our 2 stroke equipment has issues starting and the machines are 20 years old.

    Hi stihl, can I ask you if the hp ultra has fuel stabilizers in it like the hp super oil? The reason I ask is I have a 500i and I was told by the dealer to only use ultra. But with ultra will the fuel go stale quicker than the hp super? Thanks.

      Hi, thanks for your comment. Our HP engine oil is what we would recommend for our entry level chainsaws, but we would suggest speaking to the manufacturer of your chainsaw for the most appropriate advice. Thanks, STIHL GB

    Hi STIHL GB any chance you can do a video on the new E10 unleaded fuel coming out soon and how it will affect two stroke tools ? there is growing concern in the industry about this, and maybe only super unleaded will be compatible. I know Motomix will be ok but its an expensive route for commercial operators thanks

    Can you give me some information on the blue 2-stroke oil made by Stihl is it better than the red.

    • @STIHLGB
      @STIHLGB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment. For the blue oil, I think you mean HP Ultra (the one on the right in the video above). Ultra is a fully synthetic oil that is designed for long periods of use, even under the most demanding conditions. It has exceptional lubrication properties, a low-residue combustion, is low in sulphur and is biodegradable. It is highly recommended for STIHL 4-MIX engines, such as those in some of our petrol brush cutters and backpack blowers as well as giving best lubrication for 2-MIX engines. It is a more premium oil than our red coloured HP oil which is a mineral oil rather than a fully synthetic oil. HP may leave more residue over time in the combustion chamber but still offers good lubrication. I hope that helps, thanks, STIHL GB

    Hi Stihl, could you confirm if HP Ultra has a fuel stabilizer like HP Super ?
    many thanks.

    • @STIHLGB
      @STIHLGB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi James, thanks for your comment. HP Ultra doesn’t include fuel stabiliser, it is however our highest quality oil recommended for professional machines. Ethanol content and storage method will have a much bigger impact on the fuel's lifespan than the choice of oil. Providing the fuel mix is used within 30 days, you will not encounter any issues. I hope that helps, thanks, STIHL GB

      For the life of me I can't understand why they didn't put the stabilizer in the ultra?

    I accidentally put too much oil (100ml) on the squeeze cap, but I only want to use 20ml since I'm filling up a 1L canster, is there anyway I can change it?

    • @STIHLGB
      @STIHLGB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for your comment. If it's a new bottle it could be tricky to get the excess oil from the measuring chamber back into the main bottle. We recommend pouring the 100ml into a clean container, then pouring it back into the main part of the bottle. Thanks, STIHL GB

    Can I use stihl oil for different brands

    • @STIHLGB
      @STIHLGB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for your comment. Yes, it's absolutely fine to use STIHL oil in non-STIHL tools. It is possible that the fuel: oil mix ratio is different for other manufacturer's tools though so do always check the manual before mixing your fuel and oil. Thanks, STIHL GB

    which Sthil oil do you recommend for Sthil Fs 450??

    • @STIHLGB
      @STIHLGB  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, thank you for your comment. The Owner's Manual for our tools usually contain recommendations for fuel and oil. You can find the manual for the FS 450 here: static.stihl.com/baonline/01_255.pdf
      In the case of the FS 450, we recommend the use of STIHL MotoMix. This ready-to-use fuel mix contains no benzol or lead, has a high octane rating and ensures that you always use the right mix ratio. STIHL MotoMix uses STIHL HP Ultra two-stroke engine oil for an extra long engine life.
      If you mix the fuel yourself, then we do suggest STIHL HP Ultra two-stroke engine oil or an equivalent high performance engine oil in order to maintain emission limits over the machine’s service life.
      I hope that helps, thanks, STIHL GB

    What’s recommended for a power brush

    • @STIHLGB
      @STIHLGB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, thanks for your question. When you say power brush, can I check which product you have? Is it the bristle brush attachment for the KombiEngine? Any of the engine oils shown in the video can be run in our KombiEngines, but if you want the best performance we would always recommend HP Ultra which has exceptional lubrication properties and is designed to be used in machines when they are being used for longer periods of time. Thanks, STIHL GB

    • @STIHLGB
      @STIHLGB  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, thanks for your comment. It's possible that you could use it, if it is a 2-stroke motorcycle, however we’d recommend using the oil listed in the motorcycle’s user manual instead. Thanks, STIHL GB

    • @STIHLGB
      @STIHLGB  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your feedback. With the 1l measuring bottles, you just need to squeeze the main part of the bottle to syphon off the amount you need into the measuring container at the top. We recommend squeezing slowly as it's quite easy to accidentally squeeze out more than you need. Thanks, STIHL GB
