When Knight Rider was abruptly cancelled, as a little kid, for me it was like a bereavement. Probably explains why as a 41 year old man I am now on my third black Trans Am.

I Am the guy who finished off the Night Rider cars that G M wanted destroyed after the series ended. The auto wrecking yard I was the yard Forman of bought them all from Universal. We could not save any parts from them. Universal had already damaged the cars by dropping something heavy on them . Still have one of the flashing light bars from the nose of one of the cars. by the way I also done in the Blues Brothers cars.

As a kid, I loved knight rider, and one of my best friends growing up had a black and gold 84 transam ttop and when ever we drove around his dad would take us on back roads and petend we were in the show. I miss the show, but love the memories

One of the tour cars came to tour in Finland from Germany. It was brought here by Heikki "Hessu" Reijonen, who was a friend of David Hasselhoff and his "manager" in Finland. It was a manual and is still in Finland. I have some photo of the tour car from it tour days.

Maybe it's the car I saw on 1 July 2019 on the E4 motorway outside Norrköping in Sweden? It looked like K.I.T.T. and the red scanner was also in action. The car had Finnish license plates.
That "meeting" made that day special because I used to watch the series on TV when I was a little kid. Unfortunately, I only have an extremely bad picture of it through the rearview mirror of the car I was driving.

I remember going to a world of wheels car show in Fargo, ND to see KITT back in the 80’s, got to sit in him and get a few pics. I must have been 10 years old at the time. Could have been one of these tour cars. Seriously thinking of buying a completed KITT car online. Be fun to take to parades and car shows. 👍🇺🇸

Thanks for sharing that I was around 4 or 5 and as I remember I wanted to go but because I had a little brother and sister nobody would take me. And I remember I hated their guts for a few years. Later on I couldn’t remember why I was supposed to be mad at them. Thanks for reminding me lol, just more things I expect they’ll have to make up for. ( actually my sister did with a rather unusual funko pop figure and a hot wheels legacy edition knight rider. My brother with the complete full season) we’ve since made up for it in weird ways. Thanks for the angry memories and the we're sorry we ruined your childhood ones

I really enjoyed this video! Thanks guys for putting it together. I now know that it was Touring Car A that I had my photo taken in back in 1987. :-) Nice to know that it's still around and very much loved. I remember being a bit disappointed by the look of the "buttons" at the time, but I figured it was they had to be that way because of all the kids poking at them. Also, on the topic of buttons, I remember sitting in the car at Expo 88 and laughing out loud when I saw the "gents" and "ladies" buttons on those side panels near the steering column.

Thanks for putting this together. For years I thought the car (Tour Car B now at the Deezer Museum) I sat in as a kid in the UK was a screen-used car (it was marketed as such at the UK museum). It, of course, will always have a special place in my heart because my late father arranged for me to sit in the car that was normally strictly "do not touch" - years earlier he had worked on a film production with the owner of the museum.
But seeing this, and learning that it may have been part of the train lot makes that memory quite special. Although I must've been 8 or 9, I do remember being showed a picture of David Hasselhoff delivering the car to the Cars of The Stars Museum. Hopefully I have a copy of that pic and the other promotional material with me somewhere.

1990 or 91, I actually waited hours for my turn to sit in there and talk to KITT at Universal Studios in 1990 or 91.. Was a HUGE fan of that show in early 80s when it was still airing new episodes.. I had everything: the toy with action figure Micheal Knight that talked when you press the license plate (I even remember what it said when you pressed it), the stunt car and semi truck where you launch a Hot Wheels sized car thru the trailer of a semi truck, a sticker book thing that had a scene which you could arrange these "stickers" in different spots on the scene, the Big Wheel tricycle thing, and I even had a Knight Rider tent! I shit you not, it existed a tent that you set up in a kids room to sleep and play in! Yep had that and numerous other things I can't begin to imagine remembering because I was born within the first few days of the year 1980 and would have been only like 3 years old when it was first aired and hooked me as it's biggest fan. Even at that young age I had a keen awareness of which day of the week it was because I looked forward to the new episodes that aired and sometimes it would skip a week for something or another which had me PISSED for example I remember there was a huge event for We Are The World the USA for Africa thing where they showed African kids with flies in their eyes and bones sticking outta their belly looking all pitiful and Sally Strother begging for donations because if you didn't send money then you must be a total piece of exctreta / bloody stool, so everyone had their credit card out calling them to make sure the flies in the eyes kid wasn't hungry anymore and all I could think was how much I hated him for knocking KITT off the air that week 😂 anyway I was a huge fan until I got to age 6 and it went off the air and I moved on to things like Freddy and Jason and just didn't really care about it any more but when it came time to sit in KITT at Universal Studios I waited the entire 4 hours for my turn and glad I did because I still remember it like yesterday every thin about the experience and I do recall that it smelled like carpet cleaner with a hint of piss so.. I suppose alot of people couldn't find a bathroom and decided to wait in line to piss in KITT for whatever reason
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Biggest Knight Rider fan on earth from 1984 - 1986

I remember being inside of the Kitt car in Lahti Finland in 16.09.1990.I have a picture of me inside it as a young boy.I do mean the polaroid picture.I dont know wich one of the tour cars it was,but it had a complitely black dashboard and black sides for the doors inside the car,the interior of it was beige, but my picture cant show me did it have crank windows or electric seats inside of it.So that is why i dont know,if it was a Firebird or a Trans Am.The car that i was inside did have 2 screens in the dashboard and not 1 screen like i did see in your video.I did also see David Hasselhoff and Kitt in the Hasselhoffs singing tour in Espoo finland, when i was young, but i dont remember the year for that.I guess it was about the -90s.David Hasselhoff has been in Finland many times,he did even make a commercial for Nissan in Finland. He was in few tv shows in Finland too.

There was a KITT car touring in Brazil, back in ‘87. I went to see it in two towns and took a picture in it, which I still have. The dash was very fine, but many of the lights were a single shade of amber, as the ones by kitt’s voice box. I was thirteen and a huge fan, so I though that was a little off. The scanner had only the red lens, but the lights were disassembled (I got the chance to see it with the hood open). The tail lights had been removed, which I noticed when I saw the trunk lid open. The tail blind was right. Seats in fabric and the gas pedal only had LEDs on one side.

I remember, sitting inside KITT several times, when was 3, there was a concert of David Hasselhoff in Villach, when I was 10, KITT was at an amusement park in Klagenfurt, and on April 13th, there was a convention in Spittal a.d. Drau, Carinthia, where you can get photos of you inside KITT for a donation of 5 euros. I added some 1-2 euro coins for extra photos which were taken with my wife and me inside KITT. I use these as my profile photos on google, facebook, twitter, and so on.

There is an original General Lee at a museum dedicated to the Dukes right directly across the street from the entrance to the Opryland Hotel.. Unfortunately, that place flooded out TWICE now and I couldn't tell ya how much damage it did to the car or the enormous amount of memorabilia inside the museum, but I'm guessing it would have been catastrophic considering the entire damn hotel as well as the Opryland Mall were completely submerged for several days straight during the first flood at least in May 2010 and I'm guessing it was not a good night the 2nd time earlier this year as well =/ But I do know that particular example was original and not just a home build or fan made type of thing.. Also sitting right next to the General Lee was the police cruiser probably Enous's and there was the tow truck from Critter or Coomer or whatever his name was's garage, all original from the series.. So there's somewhere you can start if you're truly interested in the history of the vehicle, and at worst it would be a good jumping off point to dive into the history.. Good luck vato

I remember years ago Mark's Custom Kits had a page on their website about a Trans Am that was "used on the show", and they took out the "original" dashboard (it did look original and you literally had to plug it into a wallsocket to light up the electronics) and replaced it with one of their custom dashes. Is that what might have happened to tour car C? I saved the website and only a couple of the pictures at the time unfortunately...

sorry that the dictation went wrong I was dictating what I meant to say was it’s Tawka be and I’ve got to sit in it twice because I’m registered blind and it was a quiet afternoon originally I thought it was the screen used car but it turns out it wasn’t the people at the Museum described it all to me how it got there and that it was David Hasselhoff’s Tawka from the touring days it was nice to sit in it and now I know it’s a manual car I was very fascinated by that car every time are used to go to cars of the stars in Cumbria the very first time I saw it I accidentally touched it and they told me off from touching it because I didn’t realise but that that’s when they were very apologetic and then when it was a quiet afternoon one day they allow me to sit in it twice on the two times I last visited before it closed
