What's your opinion on multiplayer trophies?
I have to agree with what you said I went for watchdogs2 platinum but I was dreading it because it had two multiplayer trophies there went difficult tbh but with how old the game it I expect to not get it but to my surprise there was still people playing even new players so I was able to get it
I gave up on going for those a long time ago, they are just stupid and not worth doing. Especially because most of the time you have to get PS Plus to even attempt these trophies. I don't play multiplayer games on my Playstation so I don't have PS Plus and I don't plan on getting it since most of my gaming happens on my PC. Whenever I play a multiplayer game, 99% of the time its on my PC.

I don't mind a game that is mainly a single player experience to have 1 or 2 online trophies but they should be easy and fast and the servers shouldn't be offline after a few years.
If the game is a full multiplayer experience like Fall Guys that's also fine because there is no single player, so if you want to play the game it means that you are fine with playing online with other people.
My problem is with platinums like FarCry 5, GTA IV, Rayman Legends, etc which main goal is to give players a single player experience but then they add online trophies that require dozens of hours to obtain and some are really tough.
Me and my sister play games together if it requires co-op or boosting. We just got to Far Cry 4, and the servers are crashing. I literally have 1 trophy for not only the platinum but for 100% because I did all of the DLC too. I’m sick of multiplayer trophies.
They should remove or disable the multiplayer trophies on games were the servers are shutdown or just dead.
Or they can give them out when the servers die

What I think is they must seperate out multiplayer like the DLC trophies, like you dont need them to platinum them. At least for singleplayer games with multiplayer mode.
The worst for me was AC Black flag. I finished the Story mode throphies but the multiplayer mode was so bad that I gave up on the platinum throphy

Trophies that force you to play dead game modes, like you said in the video hazard zone in bf 2042 was a nightmare, I’m currently doing bad company 2 online trophies and the one i worried about the most was having to win all game modes at least once because squad death match is empty, luckily i got a win on that mode when i finally found a game.
If developers want online trophies fine but don’t tie them to the platinum. Have them be in a separate list.
I honestly wish they do separate the multiplayer trophies for single player games in the later future. there so many games I would love to platinum but the co-op/multiplayer trophies are the reason I don’t get them:(

The Rainbow Six Siege Trophies have changed over the years. I remember a time were you you had to grind the bot mode for hours just to get 100 kills through walls. I am lucky that I finished my Siege Plat.

For me, I hate multiplayer trophies because of PS+. Don’t have a subscription and can't afford one, so my platinum journey is much compromised 😕

I just platinumed Far Cry 5 and I have to say: The multiplayer is so underwhelming because there is no community. I mean the basis is not that bad but wasted potential. I boosted the online trophies as well but occasionally you are able to find some lobbies to get them naturally. And it does not even take that long.
Little bit of a cheat but they could also patch the game when the servers go down to autopop the multiplayer trophies (simply by accessing the multiplayer menu tab or whatever). Sure you didn’t earn them fairly but that would stop companies having to remove them entirely
Star wars battlefront is an example of a game locked behind some multiplayer trophies
doing gta v’s platinum now and the online trophies have been so exhausting and overwhelming but i’m almost done so at least that’s good😭

I hope they put a new coin in the PlayStation Star that makes every player do daily, weekly, monthly challenges or missions for other games. Through this coin, it makes me buy trophies for other games ,
It's a pain tbh but ghost of tshusima (I hope I wrote that correctly) did it the best making it seperate like a DLC It's not a fun experience when i gotta go to gta 5 online and wait for servers and then try to find a boosting session to get help from someone, It just doesn't feel the same. Hm gta 5 online is still kinda active i guess but still you need 1st place the chances of finding people and then getting 1st place is low especially on console
I try to get online trophies first in games knowing playerbase will be low after a year . Also servers shutdown year after year
The first Gear of War game on the Xbox 360 has some ridiculous difficult multiplayer achievements. I played that game from the day one to the end of the 360 lifecycle and I was never able to unlock them all.
Other trophies that should be gone are the ones that reward players by sucking at the game such as "lose all your lives" "die 10 times in a row"
if you want a far cry to platinum far cry 3 is a easy plat with no multiplayer trophies and the game is a masterpiece
I remember going over to the ps4 after being a long time ps3 player in 2017. Having missed the launch of the ps4 and not being caught up on that system gave me a chock learning about multiplayer on ps4.
On the ps3, the multiplayer trophies made more sense to include in a platinum 100%, unless you consider servers shutting down..
You had multiplayer access included in the game, the game you payed for.
But to then play on the ps4, finish a game and look at the trophy list, only to see a requirement to play the multiplayer.
On the ps4 this feels like a reason to push players into the multipl. to spend money on microtransactions.
And the ps plus requirement for simply accessing that? Disgusting imo. I don't undrstand how people were okay with that at the launch of ps4? It's okay to pay for trophies? Already paying for both the game and your internet?
It doesn't make sense anymore to have the ps3 trophy system where those trophies are in that plat list. They should only be on a dlc list..

I have the same issue with Gta V and the CoD series, I only play sp games cause I enjoy them more but these games are the reason I haven't tried Platinum. CoD also has the same issue with difficulty trophies which suck imo other than rng trophies.
I'm only one silver trophy away from Platinuming Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising, and it only has one F!!KING online trophy that was unobtainable since the servers shut down in 2013!! Hell, I'd settle for buying trophies if it means getting a Platinum!!!
totally agree, just make them obtainable offline if there is a server closure.
If you want to platinum a far cry I recommend far cry 3 remastered as it has no multiplayer trophies
Farcry 3 on PS4 doesn't have multiplayer trophies if you're still looking for a FC game to plat.
Mass effect 3 did it best by making trophy's have two optional triggers a single player or multi player one, reach max lvl in single player OR Multi player, Finish all multi player lvls on hardest difficulty OR finish the game on insanity.
i have no problems with multiplayer achievements as long as they are obtainable, they really should do something with all the discontinued ones
I wanted to do the Steam achievements for Mad Max, it's completely single player; but it has 1 single achievement for doing some online challenges that refresh. The servers are down, it's unobtainable. lmao.
A more simpler solution for multiplayer trophies would be to make them optional. Like dlc trophies. You can get them if you want to 100% a game but they're not necessary for the platinum.
Before I became a trophy hunter I played a ton of the Last of Us multiplayer. I didn’t mind having to go back and play online again for the platinum
There's nothing wrong with boosting mp trophies.
Especially when the requirements are extremely luck based.

Make multiplayer tropies DLC (as in not counting forward to the platinum trophy but it'll still be there if you want to get it).

The point of a platinum trophy is to say you've done it all. As much as I may not like getting them in games I'm no good at, They're still integral to the trophy hunting experience. You can't really have a platinum if you've skipped half the game. Not to mention people that earned it the hard way lose their credit.
Splitgate asking me to win 1047 games had me pissed.
One terrible move is with epic games with the game fall guys where they made the original trophy list redundant and instead made a different list of the same requirements

Multiplayer mode is fine. There should never ever be a multiplayer trophy unless the game is entirely multiplayer like Apex Legends or Overwatch. I want to pick up the Tomb Raider trilogy but I know it's going to annoy me that 30% of the trophies are multiplayer and there is no active player base to get those. The few people who remain are a mix of cheaters and maybe a few super skilled people, I can't tell. Either way the servers are cricket zones, and trying to trophy hunt will inevitably be a frustrating slog.
Multiplayer trophies are okay as long as its purely a multiplayer game, like Apex Legends. If its got a multiplayer that's an afterthought addition then there should be no trophies.

Currently playing ghostwire Tokyo and a few hours away from platinum. Collecting spirits and relics arent hard to do but they’re dotted all around the map and are incredibly tedious. It really shouldn’t be a requirement for platinum

The only games that I have/had the didn't require me to have PlayStation plus to get the multiplayer trophies are rocket league and Fortnite. I don't have PS plus so it's a lot more dissatisfying when coming across them.

How I would fix multiplayer trophies
If there's no one joining your server AI players will auto fill for you after say 20 minutes or if a server isn't active. You can also adjust the difficulty so if you wanna get some easy trophies you can have them on easy or on hard if your looking for a challange to get them. If an online server has shutdown you can still get the platinum trophies since the servers will now have CPU's and a difficulty option for them. I'd also make it so the platinum has all single player trophies but there would be multiplayer ones that wouldn't be required for the platinum but just there for bragging rights and to show off your trophy collection. Similar to how Marvel Spider-Man 2018's DLC like New game+ isn't required for the platinum
If server goes down, they should just give u the online trophies when u put game in.
you mentioned the rainbow six siege operator ban system but failed to mentioned the fact that it is limited to ranked. play casual and you can play whatever operator you want without any worries of bans.

Online trophies suck, I'd rather pay more money to unlock them than get them legit, when I play multi-player I play for fun , the worst part, servers go down your locked out of the platinum in single player, yeah they suck

Multiplayer Trophies Should Be There Own Category Outside Of The platinum requirements
I HATE multiplayer online trophies, SO........MUCH. for example: I've platinumed the Scott Pilgrim Game a few days ago. And this online multiplayer trophies was.....a pain in the ass, cause of dumbass servers that doesn't really work. One of this trophies, can be obtained, with a second controller: Revive your Partner 25 times. Why cant they do the other online trophies like that? Just use a second controller! e.e
AC Blackflag => also annoying online multiplayer trophies. for what?! Is Assasins Creed a pure multiplayer game?! NO!!
And the god damn same thing goes to Dragonball FighterZ. I really like this game, and I wanna do the platinum trophy but......the online multiplayer is.....kind of bullshit! I'm not a pro in Beat'em up Games, just a casual. the worst trophy in this game is.... "My Powerlevel is over 530.000" -.- Developer.....WHAT in the Name of F*CK do you smoke for this shit?! For me its unoptainable! Because all the other players are spamming attacks, hold you in the corner and dont let you do some moves! If someone can help me with this stupid bullshit.....please, help me!
So why the hell, does multiplayer online trophies are linked to the platinum trophy? if you wanna do some multiplayer or online shit, then make them separately in another Trophy list and not in the main platinum trophy list! xP
BUT: a positive example for multiplayer is Fromsoftwares Armored Core VI. Yeah it has multiplayer........kind of I think, but there are NO trophies for multiplayer! Thanks FromSoftware!

As an achievement hunter I can rightfully say I refuse to invest my time playing games any further that is no longer supported when the servers go down. What these games companies should do is allow the user to log in just once and they should give all of the locked multiplayer achievements/trophies away through a game update. The last thing I want to see is to go to my achievements list and find a game that is dead aka Legacy HALO games on XBOX360 and I can never get the remainders of the multiplayer achievements. Those achievements are forever unobtainable and from a completionist point of view I don't like seeing incomplete games and to me there is no reason whatsover to shut down servers. I also don't like it that all of my HALO games on XBOX360 are effectively cup coasters now and I absolutely detest modern gaming since these games companies does not care at all for their products or of their services. All they care about is how they got your money and scammed you.
Where’s the best sites to get boosting partners? GTA 5/ RDR2 is something I’d love to get the platinum and I usually just grind multiplayer or like you said, completely avoid them on my platinum account

As a person who doesn t have the Ps plus subscription it s so annoying to see that some singleplayer game has just 3 trophies that are online is just infuriating

Adding AI to dead multiplayer games is a really good idea I never thought of it myself
in regards to Far Cry 6, the only trophy you need another person for is to liberate a base with someone else. all the other ones can be done solo, and it's actually a pretty fun platinum. go for it
And to add onto that, far cry 5 and new dawn just need 1 extra player for easy trophies
I'm in complete agreement on how overwhelming GTA online is for newcomers. It might be one of the least inviting experiences I've ever had with a game, not just in terms of the inexplicable flying vehicles I would see rocketing into the distance, not even because of how in deathmatches I'd put nine rounds into a guy and do no damage before he'd turn and one-tap me, but mostly because of the seven thousand phone calls and emails you're bombarded with at once (mostly in service of content I was tens of hours away from being able to afford to start). Even working out what to save up for first was difficult, as I'd find guides that were apparently now obsolete due to one of the many nerfs or buffs from the last decade. If I hadn't been specifically aiming for the platinum this time around, I have no doubt I'd have dropped it by level 25 like I did in 2014. I definitely warmed up to the game over time, but reaching level 100 and therefore being mostly done was a big relief. Once I've finished with the single player trophies, I'll find a boosting group for the leftover online stuff and, in all likelihood, never touch GTA Online again.

For the PS4 and PS5 version of GTA Online, I think I have 2 trophies left. The others are single player trophies which I could do at a later time since I don't know when Rockstar will shut down the PS4 or PS5 servers.
I didn't even play the PS3 version until I heard that the PS3 servers were going to be shut down, so now I'll never get the online trophies for the PS3 version of GTA 5
I’m glad you highlighted how having to play in a usually debilitating way hampers your team’s success when they might just be playing for fun/competitively while their teammate is going for a win with no kills while blindfolded

I just recently tried to platinum Mad Max and Onrush, i was so disappointed they are now impossible to obtain because the online servers aren't active anymore.
Not to mention mad max’s collectibles was also glitched on released and never fixed. Certain players (myself included) would get stuck with one collectible missing on their save file. You’d have to start over again to get it but certain collectibles were tied to the online stuff that went down so there’s no way to fix it. It’s just lazy game making.
@riverfleetwood True, the original reason I quit Mad Max was because my save file just randomly disappeared, so I had to start the game from scratch when I was already 80% done with the game. That was 2 years ago, and I tried to give it a chance just recently but now some trophies are unobtainable.
It's absolutely retarded that a single player game like Mad Max has a single trophy tied to an online server. Now the server is offline, making that trophy unobtainable.
Anytime I look for a new game to platinum...or a game to platinum a 2nd time, I check out the trophy list first to see what I'm getting myself into.
I agree. I'm not much of an online player and it always does put me off. I've platinumed TLoU and Uncharted 4, and am currently working on GTA V, but they all took coming back to later once I had reconciled with the fact that I had to play online. I'm boosting GTA with my cousin but I had to grind the Naughty Dogs games. TLoU was an interesting and unique multiplayer mode that was pretty cool, yet I did have a lol of moments of hating it.
Personally, I would extend this to offline secondary modes too. I have done every trophy in Resident Evil Village except the Legendary Cowboy trophy because mercenaries is just kinda there for the sake of it and it's really hard in the way that it's not difficult, it's annoying. you can't make a mistake or you aren't getting S rank.

The perfect counter measure to this is if a single player game has multiplayer trophies, they should be optional. You can still go for the 100%, but those optional trophies won't be unlocked.
Sony should do the same as Blizzard had done yearsssssssssssssssss ago: any unobtainable achievment goes to an separated section of the 100%/Plat, called 'heirloom achievs' so player don't get they progression screwed up
The two thing I hate about multiplayer trophies are either the grind or servers getting shutdown. I have GTA 5 on my PlayStation3 and decided to play multiplayer but realized that servers for PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 shutdown in 2021 and that made me annoyed cuz I wanted to get the platinum trophy. Honestly idk if that's RockStar's fault or PlayStation3's gettin outdated but I would like this "problem" changed.
Did this guy seriously just say "I know this sounds weird but I'm just playing apex for fun and forgetting about the trophies". My brother in Christ just do that with most games haha. I have over 100 platinums and am currently hunting for 3 new ones so I am definitely a platinum addict but I only platinum games I like that I can look at like yaay on the trophy list, stop preventing yourself from playing hundreds of highly regarded games just cause they have online trophies. You haven't played the critically acclaimed far cry 3 because it has like one or two co-op trophies like seriously haha.
I've watched your vid of you going through all like 100-200 plats you've got and I'd say a solid 80-100 of them you said you either hated the game or thought it was just eh, whyyy are you wasting your time platting these, you having alot of plats doesnt look good when people looking at your list know you hated alot of them and just did it for the plat, or when they're a load of shovelware games.
I would find your list alot more cool if I looked and saw 20 games that you absolutely adore platted and then only a tiny handful of other plats.
Like we all at some point get shovelware or a cheese platinum but once I had a handful I felt really bad and have spent years trying to make my trophy list look good again, I've got the platinum in every souls game, including elden ring and Bloodborne. And am currently going for one for each letter of the alphabet.
Just play games for fun and platinum stuff you can look back on like man what a great game.
Glad to know I'm not the only platinum hunter with this outlook. I just dusted off my PS3 and now I'm going back over some of the past games I've yet to platinum and just realizing how many have multiplayer integrated into them and now they're just unattainable due to PS3 being played by only a number of players which is frustrating.
Renting their server and pay for it would fix this problem
I wish all mainly singleplayer games had the trophy organisation of Ghost of Tsushima. Taking the multiplayer to an add-on page to the main trophies list and maintaining the platinum trophies list empty of multip trophies. I wish all games had that.
