I have known Peter for almost 10 years now and have done many ultra runs with him in the hills of the Western Ghats. It was an exhilarating experience doing such expeditions with him; he would often take the path less trodden and knew how to make the entire journey full of fun and adventure. One of the most humble and inspiring people out there. There is so much to learn from him.

So happy to see Peter on this podcast. I was part of the Chennai trekking club in 2008-2010 period and Peter was the main guy in it. Such a wonderful soul, totally built for nature and the wilderness. I couldn't swim back then so Peter gave me piggyback swim sprints in a small lake during Nagalapuram trek. I also remember most of us climbing onto his Scorpio car's side rails while he drove uphill on some rocky paths❤
Also reminds me of the time when I was hesitating to jump down from a massive boulder during our walk downhill, and Peter was behind me and suddenly shouted, "Snake! Snake!".. no surprise I jumped down in no time only to find everyone laughing at me😂 😂 (There was no snake, Peter had tricked me).. Such amazing memories that I will always cherish. Thanks Peter! Rock on !

Wow Peter Van Geit!! I always wanted to meet him. A mutual friend of mine told me about this guy when I was on my first solo trip before moving to abroad. He says " Monica you know there's this friend of mine called Peter, he is from Belgium and been living and travelling in India for almost 20 years now. He has something interesting to say about India, even though he is from a European country he says that before travelling outside India, try to travel within India. Because this country has everything to offer from deserts to forests, from lakes to beaches, from hills to mountains etc you name it you've got it. It's like travelling around the world if you're travelling within India." That amazed me so much. Because I was so convinced by the idea that other countries have much more to offer than India. Hence moving out seemed very exciting at that young age but after what he said, everything made sense. I realized how easily we underestimate what we have. Kudos to this man for what he does. He is finally getting the recognition he deserves.

Raveer you and your team need to bring in Professor Jeffery Meldrum for an interview if you want in depth knowledge on Himalyan yetis, and the North American Sasquatch aka Bigfoot. He is very knowledgeable about the anatomy of bipedal primates. Also India has a long history of yetis, from the Ramayan time the Vanaras are yetis. Eastern Nepal has high number of sightings. Assam has a history of yetis locally called Khenglong-po. Even Sri Lanka has red haired dwarf yetis. In Sri Lanka, the word "Vanara" has been used to describe the Nittaewos mentioned in the Vedda legends. Remember yetis are sighted in the eastern Himalayas not as much in western Himalayas. I would not look for yetis in Kashmir, or Himachal. There might be some in Uttrakhand. I've heard from a sherpa that he has sighted yetis in higher elevations above Chakrata, but I know for sure you have the highest chance of sighting yetis in higher elevations in Eastern Nepal, Butan, and definitely Arunachal Pradesh.

I'm a professional mountaineer active in the Himalayas from last 12 years now, i also had opportunities to be trained with our special forces and go on expeditions with them. i appreciate the exploration sense of peter but there are a few things he needs to understand if some of you can pass that over to him, furstly the nomadic tribes that he stays at night with, most of them are really surviving on very limited resources, he may not understand the local languages or conveniently chooses to not share anything with them in exchange for the stay and food since he will to carry that stuff which will slow him down(please don't pay money to these tribal people) but still i think that's one thing he is passing to other people as well which over a few years down may start to impact things on a much bigger scale, these robust tribes have hundreds of years of history behind. also i have encountered a few of his students once who were lost in the mountains totally clueless of what to do next and ofcourse they had barely any ration with them up in the extreme cold luckily our team was coming down the same path and we took care of them, but i would really not suggest people to just take some tips from passionate people and start going into the uncharted terrains that is not responsible at all and may end up fatal. last point to add here is, the Forest department is super active with people killing wild animals though Himalayas are vast and thus people were getting a free run earlier but things are changing rapidly now and it can cause huge repercussions on anyone who gets caught so please don't even think of doing something like that, lets try to travel as eco sensitively as we can, leave no traces behind and please don't pollute Himalayas by eating packed food, playing music or littering around.
