@@WoodLink1 fascinating! Here in the US, it's called a "scroll saw." A bandsaw has a blade that runs in a loop. I first had classes on woodworking in the UK. I used a pillar drill (drill press) and spanners (wrenches). I still ask for a torch when I am looking for something that rolled under a bench.
