I am new to ACC and absolutely love the game but I am surprised at how secretive setups are, with games like F1 people proudly share their setups however with ACC it seems to be some big secret and will only be shared for money
Because they are much more detailed, its really just a money grab and pretty unethical but at this point it’s “normal” unfortunately

@@jamescurrie7678 search for fri3dolf, for example. The times he gets are quite decent. If you are better than me (quite easy, by the way 😄), you can get good laps.

Howdy gang! Excellent stream and I believe the app is a great find.
I only just put about 15 hours in ACC and finally managed 32.825 at Zolder. I think a decisive mindset on either gathering data for consistency or fastest lap is needed to utilize the app.
I'm thinking of not such a drastic time multiplier, going on a fuel load to do 10-15 consistent laps per stint, rtg, tune and repeat. I'm confident the over/under-steer indicator shaves tenths of my lap time.
I'll set a goal for 60% of my laps are .32 flat at Zolder so I can gauge my ability against the LFM license requirements.
Hope y'all find your own interpretation of the app and adapt towards reaching your own goals in ACC. Bless ya Joe for an entertaining and productive stream!
Tbh, sometimes I just wanna enter the car and race and not worry about setups, temps, tyre and all that stuff, if this kind of stuff comes with sims it would make it so easy to focus on driving

Thats what makes racing. I can tell you're into arcade racing and for that codemasters or forza horizon is your best bet. Assetto corsa not for you, unfortunately.
Also believe in Jesus Christ and surrender your life to Him. He's far more important than anything else on earth.
in real life the driver does not set up the car,,,he only gives feed back to the engineer

Trailbraking really depends a lot also on the car. For example, if you got a rear/mid engine car like the cayman or 911, those are great for trailbraking. The heavier the front is, the more rotation you get during trailbraking, making it harder to do it precisely. So we see a big difference between drivers and how they work around that. - Rene

Thanks for the video! I could definitely use something like this to help me out, even if it’s just minimal changes.
I think we need a software engineer for the race engineer. Why hasnt this been built into SIMs for the last decade? How hard is it to pull into pits, gets asked a few questions and then have the SIM just make some changes, go out and repeat?
Harder than you'd think. Having it all be GT3 would simplify it, but even there the cars all have unique features which want a different style of setup.
Don't get me wrong, it's doable, but I imagine that truly correct outputs from it would require a lot of elbow grease and time, and it would need to be updated every time a new car gets added to it, although it would get more streamlined with time.
It'd be a lot easier if you based it on the "setup guides" like "If car understeers, softer front spring" but those are not quite correct and the sim should be able to look at telemetry and make more nuanced judgments.

Legit setups make a big change. I was managing mid/high 2:04s on Bathurst with the 720s 3 days after owning the game. Working on a setup I'm reaching low 2:03s really bordering on 2:02
On zolder i had problems going below 1:38 lol. Car just understeers in corners making me not be able to go on throttle. Made a setup and doing 1:32s each lap. Setups do a lot in real life so it should do that in the game aswell
i remember years ago i had psx 2,,,and there was a gt racing game i had where you had a race engineer who would set the car up as you practiced,,can't understand why more games and sims don't have that,,,because in real life the driver does not actually set up the car,,,he only tells the engineer what the car is doing
I agree with this, I wish we had a sim where we did a few laps and came back into the pits to tell the race engineer what we like and don't like about the setup and based on feedback he adjusts it. Like make a simple list of questions we answer to determine what they need to adjust. is the car too stable or too loose? are you getting too much understeer/oversteer or does the car feel neutral, are you loosing it over kerbs? is the car too slow in the straights or corners? or is it neutral? and how happy are you with the car setup so far? AI in game could easily adjust the car with those few questions to get closer to what you're looking for and be a more authentic experience.

Auto engineer is what I would call the feature
I've been using this app for several versions. It's help for tweaking your setups.
Had just downloaded the most recent update just before your stream.
Really like it.
To be fair you brake way earlier with your agressiv settings than custom one. And that what you should do it with the custom setup to take your corners better and i'm pretty sure you could beat your chrono.
I’m thinking this will serve those who are already better drivers more. It’s going to be reacting to how the car reacts to your inputs. If you have a tendency to oversteer, the app will read that as understeer. It’ll then suggest setup changes to reduce understeer. On one hand, if all the suggestions are followed, it will probably reduce understeer. The question is this, if the driver is still oversteering and the car is no longer understeering, does the car become an oversteer’d mess? Or does might it naturally curtail the drivers oversteering?

Is there an equivalent program for AC?
I wish there was an app that could tune the camber for optimal contact patch when the sidewalls roll over. Everyone just slams camber to the extreme, but is that optimal? Also, what camber is best for tire wear? That's the stuff we need. The stuff no one but an app reading info could tell us. And stuff like what is the optimal spring rate for a track? And optimal dampers? That's what an app really should be giving us.
Now .1 psi change is LESS than .1 psi when the tires warm up! hwat! (that explains a lot, in my tire pressure tunings... no more .2 change for .3 after warm up)
psi change is broken by my version. the tool suggest me to change it upt to 23,4 psi e.g. Do i need to change anything ?

@@ritchieray9607 I use an old pair of golf gloves. They are grippy but light and comfortable to wear. The one draw back is that if im about to crash I cant stop myself shouting "FORE!"
is it possible use this app for xbox series x? I mean like having it on the browser on the console and playing?

I know people are complaining about the McLaren but I've been able to put up personal best on a few tracks with it. The only real difference is traction control is weird and requires throttle control
I bet some people will be mad this program gets out there =) But really nice if its accurate

I did a short video with the New McLaren at Laguna with the set up at the end. Showed 4 laps at race pace from 1:22.6-1:23.1. I was actually on pace for a 1:22.2 before I accidentally shifted on the last lap

This is a great tool, but it doesn’t beat time in the seat tuning.
My ACC engineer worked for a while, now it stays minimised in my start bar. It wont open. Anyone got any ideas?

There's nothing bad about the macca Evo. Presets are not ideal and in most cars it's the same for every track that doesn't have a top end straight.
This app is opening outside any of my monitors and I dont know how to bring it in. Drives me nuts.

THE ONLY THING i could found about this app is that let you know when you are sliding side to side , thats all

What is the ideal tyre pressure? I have heard both 27.3-27.8 and also 26-27. Which one is correct?
I wish ACC had more explanation in the game. It’s really terrible in that regard and not realistic. In reality you would have a team of engineers and other people that can give you all this info and advice.

As of 1.9.4 for cars using the DHE compound (So pretty much every GT3 car in most BOPs from what I can see, definitely the 2023+ cars) it's 27.64 exactly.
There seems to be a curve attached to it. I don't know what the curve is nor what the input is. IRL ideal pressure is constantly changing in relation mainly to FZ and camber angle, but that's not the case in most if any sims. So at least for the reference load and camber, it's 27.64.

set ups ruin this sim. Takes far too much effort rather than just racing
Setups are for the weak! A driver must adapt to the car. It's not the car that you have to adapt to the driver, because if you want to know who is a good driver, you have to compare them with two identical cars; fixed setup forever. 🤟
Not sure if you are joking or not but of course you changing your driving style a bit to the car but you set the car up to your driving style. The difference between a fast and a really good driver is 90% in setup.
i played this game yesterday for four hours and i ended up coming last in every single race. in fact in 4 hours i only made 4 valid laps of 2 minutes something each. After that I deleted it and went on doing better things with my time.
