Being from a country that doesn't really have large statues, it's hard to imagine how these would look IRL from the bottom. I went to china once, and saw my first true skyscraper, and it was so different from pictures and videos, I can only think it wiould be the same with these statues, but when they are of humans, it's a different vide entirely.

It was built by Chinese engineers on Indian soil paid for by India with tax payers money. There is so much poverty in India but the rightwing Hindutva party of Modi thought that this statue of Patel was more important. And if you ask why Patel's statue and not Mahatma Gandhi's or Nehru's, then the answer is easy. Sardar Patel was communal Hindu like Modi whereas Gandhi, Nehru, Maulana Azad were all secular.

You may not know it but you can enter the statue of unity as well. You can reach the heart of the statue using the elevator and can have an amazing view of Gujarat (state in India) from that height 💥!. If you ever visit india, do visit statue of unity as well.

@@TheCynicalDude_ I recommend you watch the "Tarak Mehta ka ooltah chashma' statue of unity episode. It is an Indian serial(one of the longest running indian tv show) . In that episode the makers and production team has shown the detailed features of this humongous statue and you would get to see them entering the statue and going up 🙏

It's mind blowing how people can create such lifelike statues in this scale. Wish Mt Rushmore and the Colossus of Rhodos was here too despite not standing anymore just for comparison. In modern times maybe I can see the work being done but hundreds and thousands of years ago, and they made such detailed works. Incredible

Amazing! But I think there is one statue is missing, Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue. It is a 122-meter tall statue located in Gurita Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, Bali, Indonesia. It was designed by Nyoman Nuarta and inaugurated in September 2018. The total height of the monument, including the 46-meter base pedestal is 122 m (Wikipedia).
I was looking for Garuda Wisnu Kencana. I remember seeing the statue from miles away it must’ve been massive for it to be seen from far away.

just want to throw in that the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue is also missing from this video. Its 122m in height and is in the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park in Bali. My partner and I had the chance to visit it while over there it is truly breathtaking and also has the option to go into the statue on a tour! It opened in 2018 :)

I’m from Myanmar but I’ve only been to Laykyun Sekkya when it was still under construction. It’s so large you can actually go up most floors and the interior is full of images of Buddhist teachings. There’s also a big reclining statue of Buddha right beside it. Would love to go again someday!

GWK beats The Statue of Liberty, which is "only" 93 meters tall. And even though it is not the tallest, GWK is the widest statue in the world with its 65 meters span.

In my country, Indonesia, there is also a statue located in Bali, Indonesia. Its name is the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue. This statue is the tallest statue in Indonesia.
In Hinduism, Vishnu is God and garuda means Eagle which is the ride of god .
