Wonderful guns and incredible holsters. I am portugueses, and we had Lugers. But we made our own holster as far as I know, and even magazines. At least for our 1st contracts(4600 in 7,65mms...)
Thank you for watching, I was unaware of a Portuguese contract, and I will have to look into it further. I am also a leather worker and would love to see how those holsters are made. Also, making your (Portuguese) own magazines is no small task, very impressive, thank you.
Hello again! About the portuguese holsters for ''our'' Lugers, maybe some companies that bought the portuguese contracted Lugers may also have the holsters.Such businesses were done long long ago so I do not know if you can have luck. About the portuguese Luger's magazines they were made by a long gone portuguese state manufactory called '' ARSENAL do EXÉRCITO '' . Such company is long gone, and it is from our monarchy days. This is a republic since October the 5th of 1910. Maybe Mr. John Walther says something about this on his written work, '' THE LUGER BOOK ''. The portuguese and brasilien contracts, are interesting because of the guns particularities. I may tell you something about it, but this text is alreaddy to long!!
@pedrotome9119 I actually looked into the magazine and didn't find that much info, but they are very well made, and their distinguishing feature is lack of markings. (I want one) the holsters I have not had much time to delve into, but I have seen Portuguese holsters for other period pistols also very well made. Thank you for the information. It's very cool
Hello!! Thanks for this video! I love firearms, but I can not own real steels where I am. Not even, all the replicas, I would like too. I like this comparison, and your knowledge on the subject. Are you in Canada? I am in Portugal. Long ago, the armed forces had Lugers. I think many were sold to a company in Canada.
Thank you very much for watching and the comments. Yes, I live in Canada 🇨🇦. The government here is trying to ban airsoft and bb guns as well, so I feel your pain. I think it is the way the whole world is going.
Pedro, you can buy the BB and airsoft versions in Portugal, there's at least one pt online shop that sells them. The non-blowback version is about 100€, and the blowback one is 160€.
I got the holster from Amazon. They are not branded, so I don't even know what country they are made in. But no matter the seller, they all look like the same manufacturer. Thank you for the question. I hope this helps.
Thank you! I was looking at a few on Amazon too, but was put off by the reviews - apparently they smell so strongly of leather that people store them outdoors. And thank you for the very detailed video, thumbs up!
@user-dl1kr5ov1y The only problem I had was a moldy smell on the luger, but the leather smell was just that of new leather. But I'm a leather worker, so I might be slightly nose 👃 blind. Ether way the smell will fade with time.
Stripped the threads for the grip screws. Any ideas on what to do? Also been trying to make wooden grips fit, so far not so good. They also don’t have a tab at the tips for them be slipped in to the frame. So no idea how they will stay in place? Also all the holsters I’ve came across haven’t been the best quality.
I would make a custom over sized screw. If you like, I can make a short video on how. Or you can weld in metal, then drill and tap it. You would have to anil the weld before drilling. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question. Good luck.
You need to oil and lubricate the real luger. I can see how the metal rubs apart when you field stripped it. The lack of oil is also what made the toggle so stiff. Remember, oil your guns or the me will be not happy
Sweet Luger. Thanks for showing the field strip. It's a shame Canada has no respect for world history.
@@JimTempleman You said it best. We need to preserve our history.

Where did you get the new holster, if I may ask? Do you recommend the brand?

Ignore the apart I mentioned together, my brain was braining
Ment not mentioned
My brain still isn't braining
The airsoft one is made of a much more solid material because you can see that the finish on the real one is so weak.
But the real one is old
