Just thought I'd share my experience: First please make sure whatever is listed you bring! I arrived to the centre and the gentleman said that everything listed was not required because I am a nigerian citizen but I was applying with my Italian passport for this instance as there were no recent appointments for a passport renewal. I would still bring all documents specified, I went in they took my pictures and pre-postal order I purchased and I was done in 5 minutes. I don't think it took up to 2 weeks and I received my passport with Visa stamped inside, Surprisingly very easy process which I was not expecting. Also the appointment is not at the embassy which was wonderful as I have not had great experiences there
All of that just for a Nigeria vacation, ones must really want to go there. That can be very discouraging. No wonder most people prefer to visit Europe or North America

It took me 2 applications and still didnt get my Nigerian travel Visa from the UK. I didn't get it on time after 6 weeks and missed my flight because they took so long and it was still refused. I have no convictions or anything i can only assume i filled in the form incorrectly but they didnt even tell me if i did that wrong. In the end i lost my money for visa and flight and holiday. I thought they were just useless. I intend to go in the next 6 weeks and still haven't a clue what i did wrong.

They require a copy of up to date bank statement. I am an appointment on Monday and banks close on Sunday. If I get an up to date statement up to Saturday which is 2 days before the appointment, would that be ok? This requirement is number 6 on the checklist. Also I am unclear what they mean by “ original must be shown”
What you can do as per bank statement is to get it stamped at the bank first for authentication. The reason for asking for original is for your address confirmation purposes
The most recent means, the last statement, 30 days cycle, original means the document that was sent to you, the person is for authentication, original documents has hidden codes for verification purposes.
Express process takes 2 days while standard process is about 6days but due to the COVID it might take slightly longer but you should be given the collection date.

Unless you indicate that you would like to collect your passport in person while submitting your application which they will provide with date and time of collection, otherwise you will have to include self addressed envelope with stamp.
Does the invitation need dated? Will I have enough time to get my visa have appointment August 12 and leaving September 21? What do you do on paper application where it says you need a thumb print?
Thanks Martin for your comment, I wii put the date closer to the application submission date. You take the print out of the online application for submission. If in doubt please get back to me ASAP.

Am not sure if the prices had changed but it Was around 155 before, but if you fill the form online when you get to the payment option select postal order and print out the forms which will show what the fees are. U can also pay by credit card but make sure you register the card first. Good luck.

So long your Nigerian passport is in date you won't need a visa to travel back home.
