I normally dont comment on videos i watch, but Wow, amazing video. You just saved me close to 5500 dollars. Thank you so much for posting this video. I know why shops go for the big bucks right away. It's a business, One mechanic said I needed to rip out and replace the a.c. core, which would be over 5k, i was like umm, I'll just deal with it for now. I just need to find an honest mechanic in the Austin area, theres got to be one out here. Then maybe then I wouldn't have to TH-cam everything, and fix it myself.
Thank You for your excellent video. You saved me a lot of time and money. I was quoted by a National tire/repair Company $875. I ordered a Febi for $150.
Thanks for the video. It seems to be the same on my x5 xdrive35i. This boosted my confidence. I was afraid to try it myself but it seems pretty straight forward. I will attempt this as soon as the new valve gets here. Next I will attempt to fix the frm model myself. Lol I will probably dick it up but I can’t afford what the dealership wants.
Just done it on a old E36 convertible and it was a lot easier to get than yours, mine cost £33 and works fine not all aftermarket stuff is bad or poorly made .good luck bro
agreed! it's still working but now my electronic parking module just went out on me... So waiting for the new part to come in... so be on a look out for another DIY haha
@@Papogator2480 yes but honestly you don't need to. Just swap a each hose one at the time while installing in the new unit. You'll lose the same amount of coolant regardless.
@@jpht.adventures no, not that kind of recall. this is a late recall in regards to that part (heater control valve). they said that it could cause fire. However, there is no ‘solution yet on this matter.’

Beautiful green hat on the cover.🤫🤣

Greetings from Russia. I own the same car. x5 e70. we have a repair kit for the heater valve on sale in Russia.
can you send me a link for repair kit please
Which hoses did you clamp before removing them from the control valve?
The coolant lines so they would spill out while I was swapping out the unit.
@@jpht.adventures You pinched all 3 hoses to the valve? What did you use to pinch it with?

Hi, did you do the bleeding after the swap? I need to do mine, thx
I have a similar problem, mine is the entire passenger side and rear heats and my side and the back couldn't be the same part?????
Hey,
Did you get a recall from BMW on this part# ?? Great work.
I did not, my car was out of the 10yr window for most recalls unfortunately

no, not that kind of recall.

no need to flush the system?
I didn’t have to
You did not show the steps.
Sorry, it wasn't a DIY. It was a vlog of the process
@@jpht.adventures Ok I see.
Update?
The vehicle was sold, but it was working perfectly when I owned it.
@@jpht.adventures appreciate the reply. I’m freezing up here in the north east
