I wonder why BMW ever bothered spending years and millions running Computational Flow Dynamics models on their super-computers, to ensure flow, back-pressure, vacuum, and a million other parameters are optimized along every millimeter of its exhaust. I watch your videos a lot but never comment....To say that I am blown away by this video is an understatement!!! Thank you for posting it!!! I saw the previous video when you took the car in to have the new exhaust mod done at Supersprint with a tour of their facility (great video by the way brought back good memories of my time in the motor industry) and thought I might have missed the video showing the finished product...happy to see I haven't and what a result!! It's easy to make a car loud..but to make it sing...now thats an art....most people claimed that the reason an M car couldn't sound so great was because of the turbos...I guess they never listened to the original Subaru Legacy GT twin turbos rumble sound..it really all boils down to how the exhaust is tuned...this being a prime example...especially by the old passionate master craftsmen which from what I saw of Supersprint, they still apply old principles of exhaust manufacturing...and what a sound from the prototype first edition!!! I agree with your assessment of the finished product..it sounds fantastic even through the mike...can't imagine what it sounds like live!!!!!...I also agree I would have a resonator installed to dampen the full bore exhaust sound with the exhaust valve open...but even with the exhaust valve closed it sounds rich and deep. Would love to hear the resonated version when yours comes in..but great video and great job from Supersprint!!!

Not bad video. Your taste is exceptional! I'm not really into subscribing, but you keep hitting all the right combinations. You are seriously a hardcore car enthusiast. What it takes me many sleepless nights to find, it keeps popping up on your channel. Exhaust are very stringent to pin down. I been at it for days (probably closer to weeks). There are so many exhaust manufacturers. My conclusion came down to SuperSprint and Dinan, because they don't dominate the sound of the engine. I, too, prefer a mix of race sound, but just ever so faintly, because a refine and well controlled noise beats that boy-racer and neighbor antagonizing loud noise. You even found MSS compliant springs for the X3 BMWs. You left me with no choice, but to subscribe.
It'd be awesome to see you interview the older gentleman present in the workshop - I bet he's seen and done some things in his time at Supersprint and previous places... Beautiful video guys - very few out there doing this level of deep-dive on the commercial "here's what we're doing/what we offer" automotive front. Keep going like this - simple, arty, rich content/educating too, well planned - and lots of bhp as ever .>

Fantastic! People say the AMG v8 is so wonderful, but this is just as good. It just needs a decent exhaust to release it's inner demon :) edit** I love the valves closed sound. It's quite rich and "fruity". It would be good enough for me.

I have a supersprint back exhaust on my E39 540i, and it sounds really meaty on lower revs then turns into an angry bull when sprinting forward to higher rpm. But thats not all, when just cruising it remains civilized so you really get the best of both worlds. Supersprint are really good at what they do.
How are you able to run a catless exhaust in the UK and still pass MOT? Would that be a "track use only" setup? I'm in a province in Canada that doesn't have emissions testing, so I would definitely run the catless setup, but places with no emissions testing are not the usual anymore.

Haha cheers John. F56 is pretty strong at Stage 1. Stage 2 won't add much more power and you will definitely need a LSD to exploit it fully. Yes can't wait to take the F90 M5 tuned to Vmax and race some Supercars.
A master piece in engineering from Supersprint and another quality, entertaining and informative video. Just one question Imran, because you say its loud on the cold start in the mornings, does it not annoy the neighbors? As you say the kat's need to be warmed as the revs are high. So do you drive off immediately after starting the engine or wait for the revs to drop down once the Kat's have warmed up?
When doing the decat most people go for a tune at the same time, where we can remove the cold start feature, which is useful for people who are worried about annoying their neighbours. We have now done this to our car.

It's up to the owner, but yes in areas with emissions testing/regulation this would fail.

It has a static rev limiter yes, this can be mapped out like usual.

Better flow on exhaust side of the turbo so faster spool and lower waste gate duty cycle. We will do a video on it soon.
