this helped me so much,, bought a g2 plus with e2 error. did your troubleshooting and got rid of the e2 error..gonna pull the brake lever off now and see of its just the wire or the whole unit.. thank you so much.
Brilliant video.. getting E3 error, but to be honest, gave up after you started removing the white connector bits, I'll call the Guy tomorrow to have a look at it. Watched to be educated. Fair play.
Thanks buddy you helped me diagnose my issue I ordered a new throttle and installed it following your video for help and now my scooter is working again thank you.
Brilliant - huge props on finding and diagnosing the issue so quickly - I'm in awe of your electronics knowledge. They white labeled this piece of garbage to several different companies, but I'm getting an E3 on a newer version of this scooter from a different company. This video is an amazing starting point for my repair. Cheers!
I have not had a E4 issue, but it seems to be pointing to the wheel motor issue. make sure the connections are good and plugged in securely. Hopefully it's not a bad motor or controller....
I believe I shared I was troubleshooting. I should have anyways it's been quite a while. I kinda tear down things on my channel because that's what I do... I never said you had to take all that apart to change the throttle once I found that to be an issue it was pretty easy. Thanks for your comment!
I have the same scooter and the same error code keeps coming up even after I have replaced the whole console. It has the same problem where it just won’t accelerate or go at all and the speedometer just stays at zero even when rolling but the brake actually works a little still. Since I replaced the console do you think it could be a problem with the hub motor? Is there a way you know I could try to fix it or what the problem could be or would I just have to buy a new scooter?
This is the only one I have worked on so I can't say for sure. I have not seen the code come back like that. I would not know other than double check the connections going to the motor. The plug-in connector to the motor could have a bad connection. Other than that, all I would know is to take it all apart and test the motor with another controller etc. Best of luck to ya!
Great fix! Just wondering, how do you get rid of the cover in front of the head light? I could not remove it so I could not get into the detail of the corcuit😢
I was wondering if you could help me I’ve had my go trax scooter for about a half a year everything was going okay till it fell over then I went to ride it then I got an error message so a friend took it apart for me the battery looked fine it had a full charge plus the battery was working however not the acceleterator or the brake light
This is the only go trax scooter I have ever worked on and shared what we learned with it. So not familiar with much else, what error code are you getting? I could see it having the same issue as the one in the video possibly?
How do I replace the red brake lever; knob. I see a spring sticken out and it's e2. I know I need to replace brake but I can't disassemble. Please get back to me.
I viewed both your videos on the G2 before buying one today. After assembly, I noticed that the throttle button moves smoothly over most of its travel but toward the end, perhaps 90% of the way down, it meets resistance. I can push past it but it feels like a mild click action. Should I suspect this should not be happening since your videos never mentions anything like that?
This one did not do that, but this is the only one I worked on and it had throttle issues already! The one I put on was aftermarket so maybe different. Does anyone else here have experience to share that information?
I took it out for a fairly long ride for the first time last night. I noticed that when pressing down on the throttle, it will signal with an "H" on the display that it is switching modes from I presume the lower than 10 mph mode to "H" mode where it can go up to 15.5 mph. There is no mention about that in the manual. It did make me wonder if that bump I feel in the throttle might be related to how it knows when to switch modes. I might use your video to take the throttle control off just to see what that bump is. The other possibility is that something like the bump might have been what damaged or knocked off the hall effect sensor in the control that you replaced.
Depends on what the question is? I shared 2 videos on the only repair I have done on one of these and shared as we learned together. I do not know much more than was shared in the videos.
I wish I had time, I do get asked this often. I do not have a repair service at this time. I work full time+ in a Industrial job and try to have time to edit videos to post. I try to help by posting what I have learned and sharing that best I can. Best of luck to you with yours!
I have a e3 issue on my hiboy s2 pro. Replaced the battery cause it was having issues worked ok for a short while than started turning itself back on after shut of.i put it in to charge take cord out blinks e3. Scooter is only a few weeks to a month or so old. Fml

So I have the same scooter. Nothing happens when I plug it in. Nothing shows on the display and it will not charge. Do you think it's the battery/console/etc
I have not seen that issue to say for certain. I would lean toward the console, but I would take the battery out and check it first and make sure it's nothing obvious. It's fairly easy to pull out since it just unplugs as you pull. At least do a voltage check.
Hey you ever find out what was wrong with yours. I have same problem now. If I hook battery charger toconsole it lights up. No codes thrown though. Been trying to solve for 2 weeks.
@@ThriftyToolShed yeah I’m trying to figure this out for my nephew on two different occasions. They locked up and he pretty much flipped over the handlebars. So you think replacing the throttle could fix it.
Wish I saw this video before disassemble to discharge the board. As was removing the board something touched something and I got a spark ⚡️ hopefully I didn’t fry anything. In the future how would I discharge the board safely so no sparks occur? Thx
Well it's best to discharge into a resistor or even a 120v incandescent light bulb will work. Let something like a screwdriver go across the capacitor (which is across the + &- terminals) will work as far as keeping you from getting the discharge across you but not best practice because it will be a dead short and arc.
great video. I have a brake controller on my g2 (E2 code) that has a need for me to solder the three wires back onto the pick-up coil.(hall sensor) The only problem I have is that I don't know which color wire goes on which of the three prongs sticking out. This is tough to find out! once I took it apart I found the Hall laying in the bottom all by itself. The screw for the brake controller had loosened apparently leading to over-limit and thus pulled the wiring off the sensor.I see know that your hall broke off flush with the body. Mine at least still has an 1/8" of all 3 probes still sticking out at least.cannot find a replacement part.
If I still had this scooter I would look at it. I only have the video for reference now also. Hopefully you can come across some online images that will be of some help. Best of luck to ya! Thanks for your comment!
In the part 1 and part 2 of this repair video I share the only experience I have working on a GoTrax scooter. I basically shared all I have learned on them in the video. Anything else would be just an educated guess?
What is the common reason the go trax loses throttle power? It turns on but the throttle isnt working? Is it because the connectors from the battery to the throttle isnt connected? Please help
I followed your steps and your video worked great for me. But when I put a new throttle on instead of a new console. I now have 0 codes worked just like before and now I can't move at all lol I have no idea what to do now
If you are familiar with the scooter, then you know you have to kick off and start moving really well before the motor will activate and take off. So make sure you are giving the front wheel enough kick start. If that is not the issue, then make sure to test the voltage as shown in the video for the throttle sensor. If all that is good, then I would lean towards a bad console?
Possible the battery. Make sure it's charging! If it will not charge and power on I would take it back or call the customer support! Best of luck to ya!
The problem with my scooter is once you get on it and it starts to screech and out of nowhere the scooter comes to a complete stop while still pressing the go button if you get off of it and let the tire go by it's self in the air it works good no screeching or nothing and it does the problem to everybody that gets on I have the same model what could be the problem?
I did not have that issue with this one to say for sure. If I had seen that issue I would have shared it. The battery could cause that, but the low battery should come on the display so maybe not. The motor or controller could both cause this, but the controller should give a motor fault if an issue is detected. The first thing I would suspect is the controller, but hard to say without swapping parts and simply troubleshooting it. Best of luck to ya!
E7 is stalling fault. No motor rotation detected and high current. E8 is controller error. Controller needs to be replaced. This is the troubleshooting information, I have not worked on these myself to say.
I believe you may have the same issue as described in this video with the throttle to some degree. I think different models will show the 22E for throttle issue and 25E for brake issue. Hope it helps!
It could be that its not sensing the Motor being rotated when you kick start it. Hard to say if its the motor or controller issue. If not already done so you can check the connections where the battery pack plugs in to the motor.
Using this scooter for short commutes is the way to go, as it makes it really fun. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxvyNuxpWiHTNypxG6nyqyf7ywc7Q16PDM Both the levels of speed it allows you to use are very fun, though 20mph can get pretty scary on bad roads. It makes a cool electric sound as it is accelerating. The battery life is also pretty impressive, as I can go anywhere around me within a ~10 mile radius and back home with a full charge. I expected the tires to feel somewhat like a toy, but it is legit, and has pretty good grip on surfaces. Braking on this scooter is also really fun, since you can even do a little drifting if you break hard. The wheels on the scooter are definitely very high quality, as they are wide and well sized. The entire scooter is pretty high quality too. I have fallen on it a couple times because I was being a little reckless, and the scooter still works perfectly fine, with some minor scratches on the sides. I found the brake lights to be very cool as well, since they flash when you brake.
