    It has been a long time since I haven't watched one of your video. I have to say that I was spending too much time watching reviews than actually making sounds. But it's always a pleasure to watch yours. I've been working with the Digitakt and I'm starting to get really instinctif with the Elektron workflow, it is a pure delight. Now I get how you can be so hypnotized by those machines. Keep up the videos and may the force be with you !

    wow, I consume most videos with audio only while doing something else, but this one I had to watch again carefully to see how it's done: some really expert usage of OT scenes! Good job!

    The thing that makes it such an amazing device is that it can really beef up a solo performance. The steps and programming works great for performance.

    IMO I like the po-20 better. It has more melodic capabilities in addition to having already interesting drums.

    • @BoBeats
      @BoBeats  7 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    • @MagickFlavour
      @MagickFlavour 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BoBeats that makes sense. I'd disagree because of the drone feature, but I just realized you can't figure out the chords to them.

  • @brianwredfern

    It works nicely with the volca mixer, I wound up shelving my volca beats, this is better it has swing and even though its virtual analog the dac quality is very high so it sound on par to something like the drum brute in a tiny package. It works perfectly with the master sync on the volca mixer and sounds great mixed with my monlogue and volca keys.

    just a question:
    i would buy the po 20 arcade, i like it for its samples, but then i found all the samples ripped from a po 20 and ready to be imported on the po 32.
    So my question is: should i buy the po 20? or should i buy the po 32 importing the arcade samples?
    In this last option i could also import different sounds of other musical styles i like, this is why it sounds goods to me.
    Which would be the difference from a po 20 arcade and a po 32 with arcade sounds imported? maybe could i lose some features in the second option?
    thanks!

    6 months later, I still pick it up regularly and make a new pattern, or sequence some existing ones and live-jam with the effects and some sounds. There are actually 2 sounds on each of the 16 places at each end of the parameter change nob and more in between.

    • @sprb4725
      @sprb4725 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      highlanderes could you say if it has 32 sounds in total, or more than 1 bank? Thanks

    • @highlanderes
      @highlanderes 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has 2x16 sounds in pairs. When turning the parameter knob, the pair is at each end of the knob, in between it is sort of a “gradual mix” of the two adding more variation to those sounds.

    Po 32 or 33? What's the differences? Realistically I'm thinking to integrate a po in my rig, so not just using it as a standalone device to jam and have fun.

    • @cebo24
      @cebo24 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I advise you the po 33. The po 32 focuses on editing your voice and the po 33 more on editing Musik, any kind of sounds and instrumentms. So if you wanna make some beats go grab the po 33. By the way you can sample your voice of course in the po 33 too

    • @BoBeats

      Thanks mate. The jam I did on the end was like 15-20 minutes noodling on the PO-32, recording 5 x 64 step loops (variations of the same pattern) into the Octa, building the song and so on say 45 min. So around an hour I think.

    For clarification (because meantime lots of stuffs released): Today which basic synthesier is a good choice for beginners (beginners in using these instruments and beginners in making music). The Korg Volca serie is really acceptable in price if you must to use two or more PO. Which another can be considered? Maybe a Behringer Crave or TD-3. Or nanoloop? Something else...?!? Thanks for any info, it is really hard to decide! :)

    • @Niven42
      @Niven42 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the PO-12 Rhythm, the PO-16 Factory, and the PO-35 Voice. The Voice is a little more expensive but uses the base mode samples from the Tonic. Plus it has built-in vocoder effects. If you don’t need that, then get the Tonic. But if money is a concern, get the Rhythm.

    I want to get a pocket operator but I don't know which one (I'll probably use it alone, without linking it)

      The PO 33 Knockout, maybe its the 35... but its called Knock Out/KO

  • @unic0de-yvr

    It was the best at the time, but now the KO reigns supreme.

    Looks like a great synth, but I still think the PO-20 is the best Pocket Operator

    IMO the po 33 (K.O.) is better. You can sample with 40 seconds of memory and there's melodic samples and drum samples

    No it isnt. As a Drum machine with the software its the best from the PO's. But we buy this because its affordable and tiny and for 200€ we can buy a volca Drum + Po16 or Sub.... Po33 and Po35 are much more fun.

      If you take a Legowelt studio tour video, remove the 58029 instances of the word "synthesizer" and ad some melody in the voice = BoBeats

    • @joostc4750

      I was wrong. If your remove "synthesizer from a Legowelt video you end up with nothing. th-cam.com/video/P_9_ZDpazd4/w-d-xo.html
