wow the way you shorten the rope blew my mind. I always would do like slipknots in my rope and it would make it have like 5 loops on it that are almost impossible to untie.

I thought I knew something about wakeboarding after a long time of getting pulled behind a ski boat, then I went and got pulled behind a 2019 Super Air Nautique… let’s just say I landed 1 of 15 wake to wake attempts and possibly have internal bleeding to show for it. I was a lost puppy trying to adjust to a wake that big, we tried everything until the body had no tries left 😕

Maybe info about setting wakes up on different boats (I know you probably don't have access to lots) but g21? etc

Hey Trevor, thanks for the tips. I have a 13 yo daughter who decided she likes boarding over surfing. Shame on her😂. This is a great video for us. Well, she is at the point of jumping into the center of the wake (2nd time boarding). Unfortunately, she took a spill on a landing a 2 ft ish air. She gave the thumbs up. But about 10 minutes later she was tired, had a headache, and wanted to go to sleep. I’m a medic and seen enough concussions to assess a mild one. She isn’t hindered by it, but I want to make sure she’s safe, especially if she is gonna take a few spills learning tricks. I have been looking at some helmets. Is there a certification or stamp I should make sure they have? I just want to make sure I don’t get something that isn’t doing anything. Thanks!

Thanks for the comment! Happy to hear that your daughter is enjoying wakeboarding and sorry she experienced a hard crash. That can sometimes be part of it. For the helmet question. Most cable parks require helmets for hitting their rails and jumps so there are actually some decent water ready helmets out there on the market. I would recommend a google search of Wakeboard helmets and you will pull up several brands that offer some good ones. I hope that she continues to progress and enjoy wakeboarding. An additional suggestion that I will provide for safety when the kids are learning to jump the wakes is that Its important for the driver to always have his/her hand on the throttle. If you as the driver see any bad body position or can even anticipate the fall that is about to occur slowing the boat down before or as its happening can really reduce how hard the rider hits the water. When i am instructing wake jumps I am always ready to pull the throttle back if I see something that will end in a face plant. Not 100% accurate but it definitely helps is some cases and is a great practice as a driver to pay attention too. Hope that helps!
