  • In this video I show you how to find the perfect boat speed and rope length for any boat, whether it's a used boat, a rib, a jets or even an insane wakeboard boat like a centurion!
    Step 1 - Find the speed the boat sits most comfortably at (usually between 18 and 24mph).
    Step 2 - Pick any length and feel it out.
    Step 3 - If it's the wake is curling, and too wide, the rope is too long and/or the speed is too slow.
    Step 4 - If the wake is too mellow and narrow, the speed is too high and/or the rope is too short.
    Step 5 - Play around with different speeds and rope lengths until you find the perfect combo.
    This is a very difficult thing to find, specially for beginners, so hopefully it helps you and your wakeboarding.
    Thanks for watching.
    Dave

    We live in Panama City Florida and have a Carolina skiff we don’t have a ski boat or a tower to put the rope on we only have clips on either side of the outboard that we use for tubing. Our son who’s 9 wants to learn how to wakeboard do you have videos on how to install \ use one of the towers?

    What length do you normally suggest to start at for a non vdrive?

      Pick any length and then try and use the tips from this video to find the right length. It could really be anywhere from 45 feet to 80 feet depending on the boat!

    Hey Dave! 👋🏻 So that kind of boat is called a stern drive (inboard-outboard) bow rider, they throw bigger wakes if you have the bigger 5-5.7liter V8 engine, but also when you toss a ballast bag in there. The true glory of a stern drive is being able to trim the motor up and down, somewhere on a wakeboarding forum, I read that throwing in some ballast, and then trimming the motor up once you get it on plane, gives you a satisfyingly smooth and wake that I love so much. Every boat needs a different amount of trim to smooth that wake out, but it should be 2-4 seconds of holding the button down.

    Dave I’m trying to land my first flip, I’m doing a tantrum. Whenever I try to just jump and go wake to wake I can get the board above the tower but while doing the tantrum I get no height, my board feels super heavy and there’s almost no rotation I just land chest down any tips?

    Thank you for always good videos. My boat is AXIS22 2020, so what's the appropriate speed if I hang 70FT on the full set?

    • @Lbavooo
      @Lbavooo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      probably 32-33km/h

    • @backsso
      @backsso 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Lbavooo Thank you for the late response. In our country, the usual speed for a 23 ft boat is 35 to 36 kilometers per hour, with a line length of 70 to 72.5. Do you think that speed is faster than yours?
