We need a points system that will inhibit a license holder from renewing their license if they get a certain number of tickets per year. Changes need to be made because I feel like a lot of these people just keep getting tickets and are repeat offenders every week or month. People in the PH won't learn until you take things away from them. Driving or Riding and having a license is a privilege and not a right.
I agree on this. In some parts of Europe, they will punch a hole on your license for every violation you make, then if you accumulate a certain number of holes, your license will be revoked.
Here in Cagayan de Oro City there are quite a number of motorcycle riders who will mount the curb, use the sidewalk as an extension of the road (or as a parking space), honk at pedestrians and yell at them for "obstructing" their way. Happened to me twice and both honked then yelled at me, "Hoy! Bagal mong mag lakad dumadaan ako!" My tito who is a lawyer had a different experience, he was yelled at with a line that went, "Di mo ba alam ang Give Way Law?!" 😅😆
Try crossing Mindanao ave, to the other side of that area. Almost all the side streets are already private parking lots. But having to pay php1k for a parking violation won't really do the trick. Unless you do it on a daily basis ( which we know is impossible )

What happened to PRRD program to clear the sidewalks of all encroachments? Still too many extended structures. Those ramps should be removed repaired and charged to the property owner. They do it again, destroy it repair and charge them with added penalties.
I think it's fair to say that it's pretty much in the hands of the City. If they want something cleared, it gets cleared. But if they don't, no one can force it. Just look at what happened a few months ago. That point was proven very distinctly.

Again, if he was wearing a helmet, there's a higher chance of him standing up and walking away with minor injuries, compared to not wearing a helmet. Some LGUs have already started to pass ordinances that say they won't provide medical assistance to riders that have an accident without a helmet.

I've never said it's prohibited or illegal. I've never said someone was apprehended for it. It's simply not recommended, for obvious safety reasons. Especially if it's raining, because that's when a lot more accidents happen on the road. If you want to characterize a rider that doesn't take their own safety seriously, it's typically slippers, shorts, sando, no helmet. My video is not limited to simply stating what violations there are. With or without a law, common sense exists.

Problem here in the filippines is there are too many cars , there are not enough places to put them . Well the sidewalks are there. But some parts are too dangerous to walk on when it's raining - for example those parts that were converted to steep parking ramps. Another problem as highlighted in the video, is when plants are left on the sidewalk, causing them to turn green and super slippery. A lot of these issues could easily be handled by the Barangay, by simply telling people it's not allowed - the very moment they start to do it.

If you want to characterize a rider that doesn't take their own safety seriously, it's typically slippers, shorts, sando, no helmet.

Like, if a motorcycle t-boned your car on an intersection because they disregarded the traffic sign, and the rider dies because the head was bashed in because they didn't wear a helmet, is it still your fault? I mean, sure you could be detained on the spot while they are investigating, but I don't think you should be held accountable for that. Or at least I hope not.

@@GadgetAddict Yeah, there are a lot dumb incidents that involves trucks. Most of it is not even the truck driver's fault. I just assumed they let the drivers go after they investigated the matters thoroughly and proved they were innocent.
Problem here in the filippines is there are too many cars , there are not enough places to put them . Many filippinos think because they have a car they can do what they want , run you off the road even kill you and the lame ass police do nothing . Traffic in mindanoe is insane with loads of idiot people driving .

Let's get real here. Where are the actual walkable sidewalks there? I'd rather have actual walkable sidewalks and get people who are not using them properly ticketed as well.
Well the sidewalks are there. But some parts are too dangerous to walk on when it's raining - for example those parts that were converted to steep parking ramps.
Another problem as highlighted in the video, is when plants are left on the sidewalk, causing them to turn green and super slippery.
A lot of these issues could easily be handled by the Barangay, by simply telling people it's not allowed - the very moment they start to do it.
