Motorcycle taxi apprehended for stubborn passenger

  • A few hours after this clearing operation, the MMDA returned to the same streets and towed some of the vehicles that had already been ticketed and moved in the morning.
Towing has always proven to be a more effective deterrent, since it's far more expensive and time consuming than the common 'illegal parking - attended- ticket, which is just P1000.

Why would you book a motorcycle taxi if you don't want to wear a helmet? 🤦
Walk or take a jeep, tricycle, taxi or grab.
According to the rider, this is the second time he's had a passenger that refused to wear the helmet.
And unfortunately the passenger is also wearing slippers, which is a separate violation.
I hope riders could report customers that refuse to obey the rules, so they can eventually be banned from the app.

"I hope riders could report customers that refuse to obey the rules, so they can eventually be banned from the app." - This might seem sensible at first glance but this can also be used as an avenue for abuse (e.g. wrong, malicious reporting by drivers). This reporting system should be thoroughly studied prior to implementation, if ever.

They are responsible for safety of their passengers and other citizens around the road. Kahit nakapark nga sa labas nakaka-aksidente padin at abala
      - when there's an emergency in the area
      - pag napasok ng malikot gaya ng bata at nagalaw ang brake or napaandar ng di sinasadya
      - fire incident sa sasakyan lalo na pag naiiwanan nakabukas makina
      - parking in sidewalk then sudden unintended accelaration can cause harm sa pedestrians lalo na mahirap makita ang bata sa likod ng sasakyan
To avoid accidents and criminal offenses resulted from their ignorance of the law, dapat talaga No Garage, No Registration

Im guessing said PAKIKISAMA LAW supporters also complain about traffic not knowing they themselves are part of the problem and the worst is accepts it and be one with those causing traffic.

The best deterent for the illegal parking make a very stiff penalty. For illegal parking 15k, for towed vehicle you can claim you vehicle after 3 months and then 500php per day of for the 3months impound. Let's see if they will illegal park again. 😊

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

The tickets would certainly be far more effective if they got more expensive for repeat violators.
Or if that can't be done, then if the Barangay traffic enforcers issued a ticket every single day - making illegal parking prohibitively expensive.

      I agree. BUT
The average TOTAL FAMILY income is 310,000 PHP a year. That's roughly 25,800 PHP a month for an average family size of 4.5 souls.
BUT the AVERAGE FAMILY EXPENDITURE is 228,000 a year for a family size of 4.5 souls... That's 19,000 a month expenses.
25800-19000= 6800 PHP of total household DISPOSABLE INCOME.
      If FINES GO UP.
Pros:. More discipline People will behave and will be more mindful of all laws. Increase in law and order for society.
Cons:. Fines COULD mean families will be unable to eat, unable to buy school supplies, unable to buy medicine, unable to pay for emergency miscellaneous... List goes on.
Thr GOVERNMENT knows this. And because raising fines COULD make the average Filipino family suffer..... It could be a human rights issue.
If it were me, it's better now than NEVER to exercise TOUGH LOVE. So 2-3 generations from now, assuming the masses will bare children at a later age with more financial security... Society as a whole can be more harmonious.

The Philippines needs to make a new law that creates a setback for buildings and residential buildings that makes it illegal to build within so many meters of a road or sidewalk. They also need to make a rule that requires businesses to make parking next to the business available for customers. I live in a smaller province area and if I want to go grocery shopping near me there is only one grocery store out of 4 that has parking if I want to use my truck so most the time I end up driving an hour and a half to an area that has a Robinsons that has a parking garage. Parking a vehicle is such a hassle I end up using my scooter or e-bike for anything local so my car sits in my garage and is rarely used.

    • @GadgetAddict
      @GadgetAddict  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The laws exist. It's just whether or not someone wants to enforce them.
You may remember when FPRRD launched his road clearing campaign, many properties were knocked down because they extended over the sidewalk or road.

i think the consequence for a simple ticket vs getting towed is too big considering they committed the same offense.. violators will not be detered if all they get is a slap in the wrist.. when the authority sees that the fines are not effective, then its their job to increase the ante.. we have to break this cycle

      Generally they cannot.
But honestly I think they made the right decision. Especially because the flatbed was already there anyway.
Even if the police came, their first response would be to try to talk to the woman and convince her.
So no matter what, you're probably going to waste at least 30 minutes explaining everything, trying to convince her etc. etc.

Motorcyclists are so careless and disrespectful, adding very irresponsible and arrogant...
Was just rear ended by one while riding my bicycle past Dona Carmen just on Aug 6th 2023, misaligned my back wheel and bent my brake lever... As well injured my knee. Worst thing is there was a police car with a policeman inside on the other side parked in Petron who had a clear view of the collision but didn't come over... I took his plate number, as "walang Pera daw, galing nang trabaho Lang..."
Later whiles riding down Regalado Fairview some motorcycles actually left the north bound lane and countered entering the south bound lane and one almost hit me head one before moving further into the middle of south bound lane...
They don't fear Govt officials, as ticket Lang or tow Lang...

    • @GadgetAddict

That's the problem. Some riders are so reckless and all they can do when they hurt someone or damage something is to say "sorry".
You'd think they would be more careful if they know they can't afford to pay for anything.
They'll demand "consideration" but they don't give it to anyone else.
      It's a selfish behavior.
