SSJ4 is easily my favorite form in Dragon Ball, not just cause of the desogn or power, but also the reason he obtained it. So many forms now are either handed out like candy or by training over and over. SSJ4, however, required 2 things from Goku. Controlling the great ape, which he had never done, and remembering his loved ones. It wasn't the thought of fighting or the desire to improve that brought Goku back to himself. It was a happy memory of him spending peaceful days with his family and friends. As for Baby, he is easily one of my absolute favorite Dragon Ball villains. He's a villain with actual motivation beyond just being a vicious killer. He succeeded in actually conquering the Earth and made all the Heroes fight each other. It's hard not to like a character who can do all that.
My favourite thing about GT is the stakes that the Baby arc has. Not only is Earth in trouble because of the Black Star DragonBalls but Baby has also infected and turned everyone and most of the allies Goku has against him. Compared to Buu where he just destroyed and killed everyone which is terrifying, imagine seeing everyone you love turn against you and root for your death it’s equally scary and “nice” alternative then just pure destruction which most villains tend to do. Also the tuffle planet looks super dystopian as Goku and Baby fight which adds to the atmosphere and the dub music also feels (at least to me) matches the vibe of the entire arc as well. SSJ4 also looks metal as heck, its design feels powerful and emanates a feeling of “This is it, the pinnacle of power our last hope” vibe. GT is dope 😎
A cool concept design that gets looked over in GT is that all the main villains in it are reproductions of the past. Master Piloff and his gang are Goku’s oldest enemies and start off the show. Baby is the reincarnated hate created by the Syains seeking revenge for what they did. Super 17 is tied to the Red Ribbon army and punishing Goku for never truly finishing them off. Omega and dragons are created due to the over use of the dragon balls in the past.
I enjoy GT all the way through. Despite Goku being a kid, I enjoy the Baby Arc and the Omega Shenron arc. Overall, GT is really underrated and I found it interesting to watch back then.
I like both Baby’s Super Forms because of the narrative behind which was a organic version of Baby’s design. It was mean to show that the more powerful Baby becomes in Vegeta’s body, the less the body resembles Vegeta and more like Baby, symbolizing the more control Baby has over Vegeta. Additionally, I like how he was written in his own arc was his involvement with the Great Ape.The placement of Great Ape is important in the Baby Saga for an additional reason: you see, in the Saiyan vs Tuffle(Baby’s race) war, both sides were equal with neither gaining the advantage, however this changed when the full moon of Plant Plant/Vegeta comes play as it only appears once every several years. This let the Saiyans transform into Great Apes which was ultimately was the deciding factor in this back and forth war. The Great Ape carries this theme of “History Repeating Itself” and Super Saiyan 4 Goku vs Golden Great Ape Baby was essentially a challenge of who could take that deciding factor from the last conflict and use it better in this new conflict, to which Goku was able to win the challenge with Super Saiyan 4 as he wasn’t tied down by negative feelings such as hatred and was strengthened by his love for his friends and family, where as Baby was only able to achieve Golden Great Ape and that’s it because of his hatred inhibiting him and tying him down(thematically speaking). The Great Ape is the main thing that controlled Baby’s life as it even gave him PTSD when he saw Goku turn into a Golden Great Ape himself and he essentially becomes what he fears and hates the most: a Great Ape. So yeah, the Baby Saga is one of my favorite sagas in Dragon Ball, not just because these reasons but also becuase it introduced my favorite form of all time: Super Saiyan 4! I also think Baby is a very relatable character as when he infected anyone, they identified themselves Tuffles, and when Baby decided to infect the entire universe, meaning turning them into Neo Tuffles, it meant that Baby wanted his race back. However, as the arc progressed and he was getting pushed back by the saiyans, Baby slowly began to become more and more twisted and drowning further in his hatred, losing sight of his goal, resulting him trying to destroy the protagonists by any means necessary, even if his infected subordinates got caught in the crossfire.
Baby’s creepy af. A parasite like the movie Alien, except he takes over your body. That image of him popping out of a newly controlled Vegeta’s cheek was beyond unsettling. The idea of an Alien using your body as a host is terrifying af. Baby was a prick.
That would be cool and all that but I don't think the ritual is necessary anymore, I mean Vegeta got ssj God and it is said that he didn't need the ritual to get it

I wish Vegeta had gone into space with the trio, having spent most of his life out there under the Frieza Force he could've been the character that drops lore about certain planets or just nelps better navigate the universe. Imagine the realization Vegeta has on Imecka about where they were, leading to a story about how him, Raditz, and Nappa got into serious debt and had to be bailed out by Frieza or something like that. Not to mention the jokes regarding his serious nature conflicting with the trios absurd antics at times, or his fear of worms on the meteor.

People think GT isn't possible but... if Super still ends at Z's peaceful world saga, then it's still possible, because GT is canon to that 5 years later. People also say God is superior in strength when really... no it isn't, or at least not that much. It's just Goku with God Ki, his power level doesn't increase all that much, it goes above SS3 sure, because 3 couldn't handle Beerus. However Goku is battling with Beerus moments later in base SS1 form, despite his God form dissipating. Simply because the God Ki flows through his veins now. Maybe that's a part of why SS4 can happen, it uses a small amount of God Ki. Why 4's fur is red, then ascended 4 Gogeta's hair is red along with his fur. Just a theory, but plausible I think. Especially with Daima on the horizon, think this will be a similar if not the same explanation. Everyone, not just Goku, being shrunk to their younger selves. Is GT bad... I can't say I haven't watched since I was a kid, and admittedly yeah I joined the heard, and it is fun to make fun of when I was a teen. As an adult though I've come to appreciate the good with the bad, and the bad with the good. Nothing is perfect just as much as nothing is without sin. GT had good moments, SS4 is the coolest and most unique design Toriyama has made for Saiyans to date, Baby saga gave us that. The concept of the shadow dragons, SS4 Vegeta and Gogeta super cool, the touching relation between Goku and Nuova that is his grandpa's last gift to him, the 4 star ball. The way Goku goes out too, it's fitting for the franchise to end. If he just died, then they'd use the dragon balls to wish him back, if Earth's in trouble, if he died of old age, then just use them to de-age him too, there's so many loopholes, there was no other way to end the juggernaut of a franchise. It felt poetic. So even if it's a branching timeline, and Super has its own ending not tied to Peaceful World Saga and GT... I hope it follows GT's example with the ending at least.

His hair also become shorter again even though it makes no sense. Hair can either grow or fall off, they can't get shorter. So there was always some kind of magic involved.

I think you should cover the original Dragon Ball manga run and then of course the Z portion of the story. Showing actual panels of the story for the new viewers of Dragon Ball to be introduced to the original story and actually be able to digest it better instead of watching the original anime.

I disagree. I like the idea that SSJ4 was so strong that it even overpowers Shenron’s wish magic that turned him to a kid. If he became adult again afterwards, you could no longer make that inference that he is actively overpowering Shenron in that form.

I disagree. I like the idea that SSJ4 was so strong that it even overpowers Shenron’s wish magic that turned him to a kid. If he became adult again afterwards, you could no longer make that inference that he is actively overpowering Shenron in that form.
