I just bought one for 6k it's mad good, you really feel the weight of the engine through the corners but it's deceptive as you can bomb.round corners with it and it just takes it
Great car and fab classy colour ! 👍 I've got a 2009 w219 CLS63 AMG in Iridium silver with the 6.2 m156 engine and it is an absolutely fabulous car, the only downside is it drains batteries ! - In very cold or in very hot weather... I am sure something like the air conditioning comes on whilst the car is parked and locked and this then drains the battery where I have to use the metal key to unlock the car because the remote won't work due to no power in the car... It also says "visit workshop" on the dash in red... as the secondary backup battery is dead too ! - I also have a 2010 w212 E63 AMG saloon with the same M156 6.2 engine and that car never drains the battery like the CLS does... so I wonder what the differences are between the w219 and w212 ? and why the older car drains the battery after sitting parked up for 1-2 weeks ?... Before I got the w212 E63, I used to have a 2003 w211 E500 5.0 and that car also used to drain batteries just like the CLS does... Could it be the air con or the alarm ?... or possibly the head unit ?, as the w211 and w219 had similar head units for the command sat nav system...
@@BITTYBOY121 Thanks for the compliment! Your CLS63 AMG sounds amazing, especially in Iridium silver with that legendary M156 engine! I’ve actually had similar battery issues with the CLS too, especially in extreme weather conditions. It’s frustrating when you have to use the metal key because the remote doesn’t work due to a drained battery. I also get the “visit workshop” message when the backup battery dies. It’s interesting that your W212 doesn’t have the same problem. It really makes you wonder what the difference is between the W219 and W212 when it comes to battery drain. I’ve also considered that it might be something like the air conditioning, the alarm, or maybe even the head unit, as you mentioned. If you figure out what’s causing it, I’d be really curious to know! This response acknowledges the other person’s experiences while also sharing your own, making it a balanced and engaging reply.
@@V8med You're most welcome - Yeah these older mercs are lovely but no one likes coming to their car at the airport after 2 weeks holiday to find their car won't start LOL ! The w212 E63 is an amazing car, it holds the charge very well for weeks if not used too often and it handles amazingly well... I did have an issue with 2 things though, the first was when you switch it to sport or sport+ it automatically defaults straight back to Comfort once you turn off the engine and restart it again (whilst the w219 CLS 63 and w211 E500 used to just remain in Sport mode all the time which I liked), as when in Comfort the car takes off in second gear making it heavier to go forward compared to Sport where where it just takes off in first gear. I also had an issue with the over the top very restrictive traction control in the w212 E63 which I didn't like, but found out that putting the car in dyno mode via the secret menu in the dash sorted it and the car not goes forward like a bullet ! 😈😈😈 - I hope you get to test drive a w212 E63 with the mighty m156 engine - It is lovely and that sound is something else ! 👌 - Take care man and drive safe 👍👍👍
I just got 2008 cls550 and the battery definitely has unusal battery drain even a few days of being stood, i might try to lock doors without activating alarm to see if it helps@@BITTYBOY121
I would prefer the M273 5.5L V8 because: 1. it has only 8 spark plugs instead of 16 in the M113, 2. it is more fuel-efficient, 3. it has more power. In the video, it shows that the car has 225,000km, but that is because the speedometer was replaced with an AMG speedometer. The car in the video actually has 400,000km, which I think says a lot about the engine. Nevertheless, the most important thing is whether the timing chain has been replaced and if the car has been well-maintained. If both can be confirmed, both engines are reliable.
M113 is generally considered more reliable engine but as the creator mentioned fuel efficiency, more power and less spark plugs and the better sound is delightful and not to mention it can be tuned up to 450hp with better intakes and ecu tune and an exhaust mod. 60hp with stage 1+ with naturally aspirated engine is not common. It is closest u can get to amg experience and for a lot cheaper maintenance. I personally owned GL550 with the same engine
@@ep_487 The CLS’s are actually easy to maintain because the engines are reliable. The problem arises only when the car has been mistreated by its previous owner in its earlier years, which can then become quite expensive

Which would be the better engine? This or the 5.0 m113? Talking about reliability and durability. Not speed.

Does the car have any type of body kit? And if has what kind? Love the car btw an absolute beauty!

Exhaust setup?
The exhaust is original, but sometimes the engine ran rough, which is why the sound was like that.^^
