Second what cowboy said. It's quite the opposite, the G36 is a giant turd. It feels like an airsoft gun and starts literally melting if you shoot it too much. There's a reason H&K refuses to release a civilian US export G36, it would ruin their image in the US market. Truth is, H&K hasn't made a quality long gun since the G3.
@@Psykam uhm no, it has been proven that the issues with the G36 were down to the german MOD buying the cheapest batch of ammunition on the market, wich turned out to be faulty. That has been proven in court btw. There are no issues with the G36 like your described.

And if you get this close that you can count the ammo in a magazine of your enemy...well then quite something would be gone wrong. When the Mag is halfway empty its useless anyway because your can´t see the rounds anymore

To be honest it works perfectly for what it was originally produced and it was meant for usage in Germany etc. It is lightweight because of the Polymer body and has the requirements fullfilled hence it was adopted as the Service Rifle for the German Bundeswehr. Of course taking the heat in Afghanistan it deemed not that reliable it seems. That's why we are currently adopting the HK416A8 into service and first Units already received them. G36 weights 3,6KG and the HK416A8 4,6kg I believe because of more metal parts.

And was subsequently used to justify the aquisition of a new service rifle, wich was again another major political fuck up by the CDU.

I believe there is a magwell conversion for AR15 pattern mags. Showing off your ammo count may be a strategic disadvantage when you're running low
