    The hybrid system doesnt use the 12v battery. The 36v battery in the boot is boosted to 42v system voltage by the inverter in engine bay. It has a dc-dc converter in it. Also the inverter has some serious capacitors in it. Recommend you get some HV gloves from Blackwoods or similar.

    Many was the time I spent in the back seat of one of those things on the way home after a night out in Japan. Drunkenly giving the driver directions back to my place. I had enough basic Japanese to do that. As well has gestures and hand waving etc. Taxi drivers over there were good sorts.

    I imported a black GBS12 with the fender mirrors last year. Probably the coolest and nicest cars for the money. The 36v hybrid battery often fails and i used 3x 12v scooter batteries from super cheap in series. Way cheaper than a $2000 battery from Japan.

    Mercedes's new line of engines (I3/I4/I6) all have that same starter/alternator system like GM used to run. And the accessories that would be on the front of the block, are now electrically driven (so AC isn't belt driven).
    They call those engines a Mild Hybrid too - probably wouldn't be hard to make it a full hybrid.

  • @emotionalcontentmediaunltd2267
    @emotionalcontentmediaunltd2267 ปีที่แล้ว

    Im not gonna comment on the car so much as the alternator/motor. They are the same thing, literally. Its just how we use them that differs. But, as in this car, you can also combine them into one thing. So one way it can charge and another way (spinning) it can be a motor. Pretty interesting idea. The batteries must be in series to get 48v. What an odd voltage for this as well.
