Brian thanks for checking it out!!!! It is an amazing place! Although... I do prefer what we have over this way by way of the Seasonal changes and the big commons. 💪🏻🎣👍🏻😁
That is cary, and awesome... i fisb the same spot at fhe same reservoir in NY, but dont get up there very often. Do you fish the left, or right side of the island, pr straight at the sandbar? Tight lines brother!!!
Not many 1700 acre lakes in the troy, NY area, a little bit of leg work on google maps i'm sure you will find it. It's been a little tricky up there as of late, but I have managed a few good ones out. best of luck on your angling journeys. 🎣👍🏻
joel can i ask you a question about clipping up please ? I'm a beginner so I'm trying to get the straight , if i cast out with a lead weight and marker float and find a spot i like i clip the line on to the spool , reel in, then with marker sticks wrap around the sticks , remember how many wraps then transfer that number to the rod I'm going to fish with then clip that line to the spool , ok, so i cast out hit the clip let the lead go down and I'm fishing , so then do i take the line off the clip because if a fish bites the line won't come off the reel, right? if a fish bites and i land it do i have to go through the process of wrapping around the marker sticks overtime the rod comes out of the water? i hope this makes sense and i know its long winded, many thanks for your help.
azaz z no problem for the questions, this is exactly why I created this channel, I will be doing a video on this for any one just like your self that may have questions. But yes, it sounds like you have got it all figured out, Step 1. Cast out with marker lead/float set up, find the area that you want to fish to, Step 2. Reel in the slack of the marker float to the lead, (if you are only using a lead) then no need to do this) Step 3. Before you reel in, Clip the line on to the line clip of the spool. Step 4. Reel in, measure out your distance sticks or use two regular bank sticks, ( you can get a perfect distance by laying your rod on the ground **carefully** And putting one marker stick in to the ground at one end and one at the other. Step 5. Place lead or marker set up at one of the two marker sticks, and from there count out the wraps until you reach your line clipped up. Remember your number of wraps. From there transfer that to the rod you are fishing with, (make sure your marker rod and fishing rod are that of the same length) . Step 5.5. If you are fishing In to deep water, I would suggest adding a few extra feet to account for the lead (once it hits the clip on the cast) as it will swing back towards you, this is normal for deeper areas, if you are in shallow 4 to 8ft depths I would not worry about this. Step 6. Repeat the same process you just did with your marker rod but only this time on your carp rod you are fishing with, once you have counted out how many wraps, clip the line in to the line clip. reel the line back on to the spool and you are ready to cast out to your spot. Step 7. Once cast out, remove the line from the line clip, if the line is left in your line clip this will end badly with the fish tearing off with your rood and reel. I’ve seen it happen! So be sure to take the line out of the line clip once you have cast out. To recast to the same spot, nothing is as accurate as using marker sticks unless you are dropping rigs in from a boat, so yes, you would have to re count the wraps to get that same rod back on to the same spot. Only takes a few moments tho. I will do a video showing the process of this and how it can help aid you and others in fishing accurately. 👍🏻🎣
@@JoelHarber-CarpAnglingUSA thanks very much , you are a gentleman, tbh there are quite a few videos on youtube about feature finding and clipping up etc but there is literally none about the small details like this , I'm sure the anglers making the videos might think its common sense etc but when you are new to carp fishing its a lot to take in and you want to make sure you are doing EVERYTHING correctly, btw today i made some ronnie rigs based on your tutorial , many thanks
azaz z I think some times assumptions are made that the “smaller details” are a given. But I will at some point do a video on the topic. Glad it has helped you out! Best of luck on them rigs! 👍🏻🎣
@@JoelHarber-CarpAnglingUSA No problem , What state do you live in , I lived in Chicago for 11 years , came back to the UK in 23' , Hate it here , coming back in May 24' , Bringing my Carp gear this time , Hoping to fish Dale hollow in September , Maybe i can pick your brains a bit when i get back ..
I’ve actually stopped fishing now. Long story but… I’ll be happy to help with info if you need it. Dale is nice. But there are many waters like it all over the USA. Just have to find them. Good luck with your return to the us. Hope you get into a few good fish once back over. 👍🏻
Great Vid Joel!! 👍😀👍

Been fishing it for 20+ years at this point. No side is better. Just depends on how
You fish it. 🎣👍🏻
