@John Doe a lot of people dont have VR or condition to buy it... it should be in the original game, at least is a great idea! and i repeat and ask u to give me ur opinion too, this build planner is a lazy brain tool!!! lmfao
Speak for yourself, this is a feature me and many other have requested for quite a while now. Reading your other big reply, it really just seems like you want the game to be tailored specifically to your own selfish needs. KSH has made it very clear what kind of things they want and do not want in the game(such as force fields, lasers, shields and etc). Yet these can be implemented via modding - with some already available and really well made. If you're so desperate to have them and they don't already exist, make it. Modding for SE actually isn't too bad. As for the build planner - maybe it could be renamed "Component Checklist" or something, but IMO it's pretty obvious what it does just from the name.

if I see this correctly the free part this update is nothing more then adding adding something moders have done years ago ( i have to admit the Build Planner seams more polished then easyinventory) and the " premium " ( probably "DLC") part is more engineer skins, emotes we already had with mods and grid skins ( wich if i remember correctly KEEN told us would never be added. I can only hope the bigger part of the community dose not by any premium stuf and dlc's so even keen will get that we as a community don't like what the do lately.
So basically because modders did it first they can't? No that poor reasoning for not buying a dlc. Also you don't speak for the community you speak for your self and your own opinion
i kinda agree with you on this one OP. either way, any update to SE is a welcome one as it means they have not dropped this game off the tall side of a cliff.
One hand, I want to support Keen Software House for the games they are programming. On the other hand, I don't want to support them for creating multiple DLC's that are just textures for easy money.
That's already available in vanilla. I have to lower my 9900K to stock speeds to keep SE from triggering thermal throttling. I can run every benchmark perfectly fine, but SE does something that generates WAY more heat for less CPU load.
@@docferringer I can run it on my i5-8400 just fine. It's cooled by a Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo, no water cooling or something. The heat that is produced by your CPU is dependent on the amount of work it has to do, so it can't produce different amounts of heat at the same CPU load.
@@jonavanderpal Yes it can actually. A modern CPU is subdivided into areas for floating/vector math, onboard GPU processing, video encoding, cryptography, and so on. CPU usage is calculated based on what comes in to the CPU and what goes out, not the in-between steps. Entire sections of the chip can be idle without affecting the usage statistics that Windows shows you. Different synthetic benchmarks test different parts of the CPU, the key word being "Synthetic". A real-world workload can sometimes be more taxing on a CPU because it engages more areas of the CPU at the same time compared to a synthetic benchmark. More sections of the chip being active at the same time means more power is consumed, which means more heat. I hope that clears it up.
The new skinning options are in the paint menu. Took me a bit to figure that out, as it does not seem to be mentioned anywhere. Top of menu check box is for color, bottom check box is for texture. You can paint both at once or one or the other. If you want to re-texture a whole ship, make sure the top box is not checked.
"Fiber" and "NextGen" engineer skins looks bloody amazing. That end teaser was great as well. Showing some love for console :D. I really like the armour skins! Sure, there were mods for that, but now they're actually integrated into the game properly. Definitely appreciate that. Build planner sounds useful, but I'd like to see if we could convert blueprints into this type of view as well; it'll make building massive ships a hell of a lot more manageable. Small grid cryo is nice, but I'm always in singleplayer, so it's essentially useless for players like myself. Bugfixes are expansive as well, so that's always great.
New suits!? Clean paint!?!? Carbon fiber!?!?!? Digital camo!?!?!?!? SE on Xbox !!!!!!???? My heart can only take so much excitement !! damnit keen take my fucking money!!!💰💰💰

The pack is actually worth the money if your into that, gotta say thanks for not forcing the small block CryoPod into the pack. I might actually get this one Not the skins tho, they are WAY too much I just realized, what happened to the camo pattern for the heavy armor, it's not the same as what's here, but I do kind of miss it (I was gone when it vanished)
It's all very nice, until you realize that about a month ago there was an update that actually made the default armor texture with even more grunge then it already had. I had a bad feeling at the time but they could not possibly sell fancier armor later... right? Today:
Sadly there is a Performance issue after placing a certain amount of blocks. No matter weather they are in reanderdistance or not. Please change so no resources are used for something that is out of sight. Instead save the Status and time, then if a Player gets in renderdistance calculate as Delta time what happend meanwhile. (Like processed ore in the meantime etc.) It's just unplayable having more than one base, even on different planets. Realy destroys a creativity based game so hard.
alternatively save the Status and time, then if a Player gets in renderdistance it iterate over missing frames of that Delta time, do a 'catch up' or 'streaming' indicator for that base.
I don't like long comments and I don't know much, if anything, about how to make a game but I do have some programming experience and although I doubt that it's much of a priority, I want to suggest a solution to the issue with using projectors for blueprints that are multi-grids. The problem, as I understand it, is that the rotor or piston head is not inline with the main grid and the projector needs to be part of the grid it is projecting. What if instead of trying to project grids onto the rotors and piston heads with the projector itself, the rotors and piston heads are given a hidden function to act as their own projector. Once the rotor and motor is welded to "functional," status and the motor for that rotor is part of a projection, the motor, rotor and projector work together to determine whether the blueprint has an additional grid on that rotor and if so, load that grid onto the rotor. The rotor is like its own projector but the blueprint it projects relies on the main projector connected to the grid. If the additional grid has a motor and rotor with another grid attached, the first rotor works with the second motor and rotor the same way the first rotor and motor work with the projector. This works around the problem of multiple grids being projected to potentially occupy the same spot. Since the blueprint comes from the projector but the rotors and piston heads act as their own projector, it would be like projecting a single grid blueprint into something that has already been built. Again, I'm no game maker. But I thought if it might help solve the problem, I would put it out there. Since I play survival a lot and like to build things from the workshop, its a shame when I can't build it sometimes because of this issue. Could be that the devs may have already thought of this and maybe they are trying to get it working or found a problem with it.
Zlaté České Ručičky! Well done KSH!!! Since I was playing the game for first time I said: Oh, that´s impressive. Now after 4 years I am saying: Oh, Wow! I again fall in love!
What i feel we want most rn is 3 things, some kind of energy weapon, just anything to add more variety to combat and more realistic and interesting collision physics, also perhaps a top speed higher than the speed of slow Edit: also aerodynamics, re entry effects that kind of thing Second Edit: more advanced and powerful thrusters, also please, make it so that we can have merge blocks remember what grind they used to be so we can detached merged ships and have airtight seals
This DLC looks much more impressive than the decorative one! I'd love to purchase it to use in-game, but still... For a game that left early access, SE still doesn't seem that stable. I still run into many problems playing: Lag-spikes when players join a server. Abrupt crashes or BSODs. Even the Keen logo cinematic doesn't play properly! As much as I love this game for what you can build and do in it, it's frustrating to run into these problems. I'm not sure if it has more to do with the game or my potato PC, but I think you folks at Keen may need to work more fixing bugs and other problems before you can call this a finished product. Only when this game runs smooth and stable, will I be completely comfortable recommending it to people and buying the DLC. Until then, It's a gamble.
Funny. It is by reading your commment that I see the SE is not anymore in early access. I really though it still was still having all sort of problems when playing... I should redo my review with a thumb down now...
I use a mixture of both the golden and ME skin but now that I see them carbon fiber suits I might ditch them. Those skins are making me really want to buy it. I fully support the DLC, they need the money to continue development. Sorry for the paragraph.
I was expecting something more from all the hype you tried to build around it. Build planner is nice but i guess i should just have lower expectations next time
I thought I was going to be able to design ships and import them or sit at a console and design a ship before building in game. Then I saw that and said...this is a que system.
@@vazaruspaytonas7017 You can basically do that using creative to design a ship and then importing the blueprint into a projector in your survival world. I really want to travel between star systems, even if its just loading between worlds and dragging the player and grid data of whoever is travelling.
I remember when the game came out years ago, and it ran more or less flawlessly on a gtx 770; now it chugs on a 1060. Keen get your act together and clean up your game.
I bought the decoratives pack, but I won't buy the skin pack, because it is more expensive (proce is still considerably low) and features NO interactable blocks. It looks really great but for me it's not worth the money.

@@bladeviridian7853 Confirmed. The large grid pods still have the old look. EDIT: Although...you can use the rotor trick to get the small grid pod on a large grid. One cool side effect of this is the new pod design would look badass slowly rotating on a platform.
Well, nothing wrong with giving us ways to support the game further, that's just fine! BUT: Don't make it too many small fragments of DLC, it could become a bit confusing or look just bad in the store, especially for new players. This would add an extra element to the game and better battles or faster base building and better design considerations
You mean like Sektan's various suits that probably dont work right now?
@@Skellitor301_VA Yes, but they also serve a purpose in game rather than being purely aesthetical

I Hope to see that too
Give the award to the person who designed the Build Planner!
The build planner! YES! Been years in waiting, a quick way to extract the components I specifically need. Many thanks!
I would like this DLC more because it only adds skins for players and ships, but it is the second one added in a short time. I don’t want to have to pay for the best content each patch. (I am considering paint skins better than small sleeping pods and a build planner)
When I saw build planner, I got my hopes up for some kind of design tool, but meh...
yeah, this build planner is a lazy brain tool, creative still being the build planner...
@@Dealman15 its more like a critic than my needs. lot of good ideas come from good and bad critics so i hope u understand my point of view. and i wrote: "This is my personal opinion from my 3 years of experience in game, 1729 hours played. thanks for the attention. ". of course there will have a lot of others opinions, i accept ur opinion with no problem man but dont judge my point of view like that, im not being selfish here, its my opinion and people can think similar too. maybe past decisions can change depending on players opinions so i gave them mine. about new things, why they cannot make it like the options u have in the advanced config? ideas bro, thats my objective here and they, i think, want to have so many players as they can have playing their game. modding is a part of the game that already told u when u change for experimental mode: "U can have issues" it tells u, so maybe if its part of the game u will not have issues, it can all be an option like a dlc or wolves and friendly fire are. than u talk about build planner, i made a critic and u gave the solution lol perfect example of my objective. so thanks for discuss, maybe they can take some ideas here. cya
@John Doe Not bad that. Now if we could get a similar tool in-game, that would be awesome.
I really really want ONE FEATURE: Make the To-Do list so you can add all blocks from a projector. This would make building that much faster and more fun
That ending was perfect XD
I remember when I was still going to school, it was miserable but every thursday update's morning will be less depressing.
Watching this again, from the future... or is it the past, since anyone reading this will read it after I've re-watched it?
Anyway, love going back and watching these releases over the years. This game has come such a long way since I started playing nearly 6 years ago as of this message.
Keen, if you're going to do DLC character skins I'd like to see some military officer style uniforms without the backpack and helmet. Maybe a few more faces and races as well.
oh get out of here with your racial diversity. You people ruin everything i swear lmao
@@halfestevan1 at least allow me to shave my character. I dont like its face
Heh, love the tease at the end. You guys have fun and I do hope you'll eventually release enough small grid components to make small grid ships looking sexy with their own windows. (I don't mean Glass panels, but windows mounted in blocks like what you've done recently, doors, and airlocks. in the future.
The Small grid Cyro on it's own will make Small Grid ships more viable for doing long-term missions on a challenge. Thank you!
Awesome! Thanks for the update! ❤️ Build planner is such a welcomed addition
Please can you convert all blocks for small ships! like the small ship mega mod pack! The community love our small exploration ships
OR if you could make a block that officially connects large grids to small grids (merge block) so we can make more detailed interiors for larger ships and not use Rotors
Hm.... not that happy. With more than 1k hours already spent in the game I feel somewhat obliged to buy, but at that rate that get''s quite expensive pretty fast.
But only the camos are paid content
The new block and mechanics are all free
I know. So what is your point?
The dlc is 6 dollars. It’s not expensive.
@@-nightraider-1169 the second time in a few months and two times 3,54 EUR for the suits.I said at that rate it get's quite expensive pretty fast, meaning overall. I wonder how I even have to explain this.
if I see this correctly the free part this update is nothing more then adding adding something moders have done years ago ( i have to admit the Build Planner seams more polished then easyinventory) and the " premium " ( probably "DLC") part is more engineer skins, emotes we already had with mods and grid skins ( wich if i remember correctly KEEN told us would never be added.
What you think is not what the community thinks
i kinda agree with you on this one OP. either way, any update to SE is a welcome one as it means they have not dropped this game off the tall side of a cliff.
What I mean is that they don't give credit to the mod authors what they have never done even when they are copy pasting the mods code
And I believe they shouldn't add functional blocks via dlc because you can't use them if you don't buy the dlc
One hand, I want to support Keen Software House for the games they are programming.
On the other hand, I don't want to support them for creating multiple DLC's that are just textures for easy money.
Fiber Skin: I suppose these are excellent for exploring alien ruins underwater and dodging giant seamonsters?
And they are NOT in the pack.
I think they ll be the raiders favourite skin. And i dont see fair the pric of only a simple skin
Nice. I especially appreciate the clear line between free gameplay updates and paid cosmetics.
Finally a build planner! This will save so much time
Loving the featured IMDC builds!
OMG, they are working on API to keep coffee warm
@@docferringer I stand corrected. Thanks for the explanation, it was quite interesting!
Good.bot explain You if You writte "skin" at the Good.bot chat
@@simplementepersona Nice. I never knew that.
I like the smal cryo, but you should really consider adding doors and similar things for small ships, they're much needed
My heart can only take so much excitement !! damnit keen take my fucking money!!!💰💰💰
alright..now to fix the hitboxes from the thrusters!
This game has the best building/engineering mechanics around right now and a pretty decent aesthetic style.
If only it gave me a reason - any reason at all - to actually play it.
The pack is actually worth the money if your into that, gotta say thanks for not forcing the small block CryoPod into the pack. I might actually get this one
Not the skins tho, they are WAY too much
I just realized, what happened to the camo pattern for the heavy armor, it's not the same as what's here, but I do kind of miss it (I was gone when it vanished)
Omg, I love you guys ;D
New character models would be nice, like a robot and maybe some humanoid alien. The cinematic story potential would be crazy.
Omg that buildplanner looks AMAZING
It's all very nice, until you realize that about a month ago there was an update that actually made the default armor texture with even more grunge then it already had.
I had a bad feeling at the time but they could not possibly sell fancier armor later... right?
Today:
MIND BLOWN!!!!! KEEP IT UP GUYS!!!!!
Awsome update with the build planner!
Still waiting for hotkeying blocks on remote grids by using antenna's tough
Sadly there is a Performance issue after placing a certain amount of blocks. No matter weather they are in reanderdistance or not. Please change so no resources are used for something that is out of sight. Instead save the Status and time, then if a Player gets in renderdistance calculate as Delta time what happend meanwhile. (Like processed ore in the meantime etc.)
It's just unplayable having more than one base, even on different planets.
Realy destroys a creativity based game so hard.
alternatively save the Status and time, then if a Player gets in renderdistance it iterate over missing frames of that Delta time, do a 'catch up' or 'streaming' indicator for that base.
That would make too much sense.
I really would love some reentryeffects or aerodynamics but this is cool too ^^
Awesome! Already bought it - it's.... aww man, that camo O.O Finally fresh stuff to support you guys!
Zlaté České Ručičky! Well done KSH!!! Since I was playing the game for first time I said: Oh, that´s impressive. Now after 4 years I am saying: Oh, Wow! I again fall in love!
What i feel we want most rn is 3 things, some kind of energy weapon, just anything to add more variety to combat and more realistic and interesting collision physics, also perhaps a top speed higher than the speed of slow
Edit: also aerodynamics, re entry effects that kind of thing
Second Edit: more advanced and powerful thrusters, also please, make it so that we can have merge blocks remember what grind they used to be so we can detached merged ships and have airtight seals
Nice. But...can we get...mayby...windows and doors for Small Grids?
And free
very well done! I waited for this some moment xd
Yes! SE coming to XB1! It's a dream come true 😍
New gameplay mechanic? New AI? New weapons? Nah, add skins and block from mods.
It sometimes baffles me as to how oblivious keen seems to things. Notably game design.
5:13 very nice skin good Job✌️
OMG what's that EPIC soundtrack !!!!

Love the end!
I bought the decoratives pack, but I won't buy the skin pack, because it is more expensive (proce is still considerably low) and features NO interactable blocks. It looks really great but for me it's not worth the money.
Exactly, you only have to buy it if you want too
thank you for update, great game
Hmm, they show what is effectively a UNSC Paris class Frigate in the vid, and I’m like sweet, Halo reference. Then the Xbone clip at the end happened and it all made sense.

awesome update
now get rid of the damn girders on the armor and I will love you forever
but seriously, this update is brilliant, if you want to expand the designing of ships even more you could try to allow us to design ships in projectors somehow and save them as blueprints THEN actually go about building them, so we wouldn't have to design by cheating or by going in other creative worlds

@Nathanaël Benamou damn........
@@bladeviridian7853 Confirmed. The large grid pods still have the old look.
EDIT: Although...you can use the rotor trick to get the small grid pod on a large grid. Place a large grid rotor, grind the top of the rotor off and replace it with a small grid rotor head. One cool side effect of this is the new pod design would look badass slowly rotating on a platform.
4:10 that pilot is me btw
Well, nothing wrong with giving us ways to support the game further, that's just fine!
BUT: Don't make it too many small fragments of DLC, it could become a bit confusing or look just bad in the store, especially for new players.
Maybe include a bundle with a small discount, including every current and future dlc. The "DELUXE Version" should be just that, I guess. With an updated price of course. It would be much more convenient for the user and could look better.
Would make too much sense.
@@woofcaptain8212 you really are just here to shit on keen aren't you
Probably should have released the first couple armor block skins for free, or at least just the clean variant, especially considering how new to the game it is. Simple patterns don't really seem like they fit as a paid DLC to me, and I personally would much prefer it if the pricing were saved for more complex patterns, like something that changes the entire texture comepletely, and not just the colorable layer.
I think the clean variant comes free with the update.
