- Pierre Cochereau performs one of Louis Vierne's "Pièces de Fantaisie" in a recording made in the early 1970's. Cochereau was titulaire at Notre Dame from 1955 until his death, at the age of 59, in 1984. In the first 84 years of the 20th century, the organ bench at Notre Dame was occupied by only 3 organists: Vierne, Léonce de Saint Martin, & Cochereau.

j'ai toujours un plaisir fou à jouer et écouter cette oeuvre de Vierne !!
6 days ago I was in Paris and I visited Notre Dame.
I was so lucky that someone was playing the organ.
The sound is so beautiful.
Amazing..
I cant find a word to express what I feel..
super Tempo...
Wow. Amazing. What a genius Vierne is. Cochereau is also amazing because when I listen to this video, I am thinking about Vierne, not Cochereau. Thank you sooooo much for this video!
so beautiful someday I'll be there
hadesluis23 did you ever manage to see it?

I'm so sorry for what happened today... It goes slowly down :-(
THE ORGAN SURVIVED! Somehow...

It is immensely sad.
So sad to think that, with tonight's catastrophic fire, we will never hear this magnificent instrument live again.
@Teressa Dy what are you talking about??
@Bill Wilson how do you day that?
Say that
Variation in speed turntable.
It’s lost, you’ll never hear that organ again.
The Duke the organ has been found undamaged by the fire.
HaHaVids ya I heard, I wrote that as the fire was blazing and assumed
burnt down today what a horrible tragedy
An utter disaster of unimaginable proportions.
perfect music for the opening of a film while some names show up on screen.
Anyway, I love how those chords are so connected.
