The thing with soft nibs is, that they are not flexible. When you write with normal pressure, soft nibs give you the feeling of a soft car suspension while gliding over the paper. But if you try to flex them just a little bit too far, they will bend. That was the explanation of the japanese dealer when I bought my Pilot Custom 743 with a soft medium nib. And I love it!

Yes, you are right. I face this issue with my Sailor KOP. However, I havent faced this issue with Pilot Custom Urushi

Have a blaack parker with gold nib 19k 750 from 1995. Runs very smoothly

@@Soon2berich it is soft...but I do get a scratchy sense at times in the flow... probably because it is old and my tinkering with the nib has caused it....
