For free public access beaches, you have to just keep your yes open as you’re driving on Calle Costera Sur. Look for hidden roads or paths within the trees as you’re driving. These harder to spot roads (some I’ve seen are dirt while others are paved but need a lot of work) are usually between the main roads and gates that lead you to the beach clubs. Over the years, I’ve found some really nice beaches between beach clubs that the locals use - they become easier to find once you start getting closer to Punto Sur and away from the heavy tourist-trafficked part of the island. I found a really great one last summer on the other side of Cozumel, as soon as you pass Punto Sur and begin to go north - on the Atlantic Ocean side. Definitely less rocky on that side.
We really struggled to find those beaches but next time we will keep an eye on them as we have seen very beautiful spots there in some pictures. Thanks for watching and sharing this insights! Saludos amigo 🙏🏼💯
We've missed you so much guys! 🥹 January hit us with so many surprises, including the dreaded Dengue Fever - hense the radio silence on here 🤭🤭 We hope you've all had a wonderful start to the year and we're excited to be back to posting regularly again 🫶 Who's going to The Cozumel Carnival next week?? 🎉👯♂
Geesh sorry you have been ill. I have been enjoying your videos- thank you for the great work. We leave tomorrow for Playa and now have lots of info, thanks to you both !
I just left Playa a week ago after spending 10 glorious days there. I thought about a trip over to Cozumel, but being that I am a solo woman traveler I was hesitant. After watching your lovely video, I will put it on my to do list for next trip in October!
Hola Susan, awesome to hear that you had an amazing time in PDC. Yes, Cozumel is a lovely place, pretty safe, and with tons of places to explore. We love that our video has convinced you to visit this beautiful island 🏝️🙏❤️
Hey Terry and Hazel 🥰🥰 We're so glad we got the whole way around the island - it's so different on the East vs the West 🌴 Thanks for tuning in and we'll see you in the next one 🥰
Love the Suzuki jeep! My mom used to drive one. Great video. Love that you support local business as much as possible. Cozumel seems very laid-back. Would love to see more video's on eco-tourism and nature conservation in the Yucatan. Much love to you & Ted xx
Hola Cindy 🫶 Oh my gosh it was sooo cute, and so much fun to drive - Geovanny and I would love one of our own 🐸😍 Ya, we love to support local where possible - especially when the owners are as fun and friendly as the owner of La Casa Del Indio 🥲🫶 Thank you so much for the idea, we'll see what we can find and plan some content throughout the year around eco-tourism 🙌 Ted sends a big lick and we're sending you a big hug 🥰
We just got here for our honeymoon and we went directly to the coz roasting company due to your video. Peanut butter iced coffee was amazing, was just too hot for the regular. Thanks for the video
Awww, that’s so sweet I hope you guys are having a fantastic time in Cozumel. Oh definitely the weather has been soooooo hot, but nothing refreshing that a swim in the Cozumel waters 🤭🫶. Thank you for watching and commenting, and of course congratulations on this new chapter in in your lives 🙏🏼🤭🫶
I’ve done the jeep and I’ve done a scooter . I don’t recall how much I was able to haggle for the jeep, but I was able to haggle down the price of a scooter to 17 bucks a little over a year ago. Either vehicle is a great option for Cozumel
Hola Ben 🤗🤗 I'm sure Cozumel is a ton of fun on a scooter - and for $17 for the day? that's not bad at all 🤩🤩 Geovanny and I have never driven a scooter /bike before, so I think we're a little apprehensive but Cozumel would be a great spot for a first time rider 🛵
@@ForTheRoadTravels it was a learning experience for us, as well. Once we got away from the city and started driving down Calle Costera it ended up being much better since there’s very little traffic and you can really take your time learning how to operate those scooters.
Thanks for that tour. Well done. I’ve done that excursion several times and I highly recommend it. Many good memories. I have advised many friends to take that trip while visiting PDC, or even while visiting Cozumel on a cruise boat. It is Not like driving in a bustling city like Cancun, Puerto Vallarta or Manzanillo. Very relaxed. DO IT !!! Anyway……seems I won’t need to go to Cozumel any time soon, ‘cuz you’ve already taken me for the 2024 season.
Hola John 🤗🤗 We're so glad you enjoyed coming along with us 🙌 Oh my gosh we totally agree - Cozumel is just such a laid back vibe and definitely worth scheduling a day visit for anyone looking to just have an easy day here in the Caribbean. And I agree, driving in Cozumel is just an absolute pleasure 🙌 Sending you a big hug 🤗
So nice to see you guys 😊 I always enjoy your videos because you keep it real. I'm always on a budget and also like to support local businesses. The restaurant where you had lunch is exactly my kind of place. Will definitely bookmark this for future trips. I am craving to come back - my last trip was October but there was a heatwave so I hid most of the time 😂. I'm hoping to come back Apr or May. 🙏🏻 And this time i will visit Playa del Carmen. I hope everything is OK with you both and look forward to your next post ✌🏻 ✌🏻
Aw, thank you so much, we always thrive to show our authentic selves. Yes, we love sharing the local business there is where we impact the most as tourism. Last year summer lasted so long, and this year winter has done the same 🤭 not complaining weather has been increíble at least for us. Everything is going well, trying to find the balance with my full time job and For The Road, and we are excited for the upcoming content we are creating 🙏🏼. Thanks for our support Kate 😍🫶
Someone has been practicing their Spanish 😉 that car is so cute!! Perfect for touring the island. We didn’t know Cozumel had crocodiles! Shop local! We always try to do so. we saved that spot for next time!
Hello beautiful friends 🤗🤗 Hahaha yesss, I really have been pushing myself to speak to more locals and DuoLingo has become my best friend in 2024 🥲 Oh my gosh we loveeeed the car - you literally couldn't get a more perfect island car 🐸 Maybe we can all do a Cozumel day together and dip some little toes in the water 🤭🥰 and then go visit our friend for another round of those shrimp tacos 🙌

For a fun time try watching the Fat Tuesday Parade. We had a great time there last year but you need to plan on staying for the night. BTW @13:36 - LOL!
We've never heard about that, thanks so much for the tip - we're actually headed back this weekend for the Cozumel Carnival so we'll have to stop past to check it out 🙌🤩 Hahaha, we love meeting friendly people on the streets 🥲🥲
If you do stay this Tuesday night, the 13th, for the parade I strongly suggest earplugs. It can get really loud since the parade doubles back on itself and you can have 5 floats blasting music in your area. The parade goes up and down Av Rafael E Melgar 2 times. Hope you both have a great time and keep up the great work!
