And this is extremely hard to do when you don’t have the funding.
Finding angel investors for your startup and a good angel investors network is paramount to gaining financial momentum for your business.
Having gone through the process of finding angel investors for my own startup business funding and eventually becoming an angel investor myself, I have a ton of tips for how to find the right business investors for your startup.

I really enjoyed listening to your advise. I have a business that is operating for a few years now and I need guidance and investors to move ahead in the right direction. I am extremely passionate about my business and I know it can be lucrative over the next 5 to 10 years and beyond. Right now I restarted the business after covid and I need to find the right investors for me. I would be willing to have a meeting where I will talk about my projections that if done properly will take the business into the millions. It would a great investment and I am willing to work at it with some training or advice given.

Is there any reason to be concerned about the amount of details that we share with the angels?
I understand that just an idea is really of no significant value. But, if an angel has the expertise and the team to be able to go after the same problem that I am trying to solve, how much info is enough info to be shared safely?

It’s a great question. Truth is it really depends. You’re never going to be 100% safe from that happening - but the likelihood of someone doing that is lower than you’d think.
My approach is to start slow and as we build mutual trust, share more. And I keep a list of things that I think are truly secrets that I won’t talk about or dig into just so I have a game plan when I’m going into conversations.

Glad that you took out time to answer. Would the same hold good for accelerators? For a first time founder where the product is a marketplace and not a SaaS product, would it make more sense to go with a start-up accelerator over angels?
@@nelsongodwin9477 You can do both. It doesn't have to be one or the other. Just make sure you choose a credible accelerator. Not all accelerators are created equal.

After being in the Software patent industry for 3 years I honestly won’t recommend being to secretive about ideas 💡. Of course a balance is key. But there’s so much opportunities in open source technology available now days. It has a great track record. But I’m willing to be balanced if investors don’t like it.

hello sir, thank you for this informative video! i was wondering if it'll be okay to start my llc's structured like a umbrella company AFTER getting funded by an angel investor? or do i have to get the llc structured first? part of the money, i was going to use to use it for educational courses on managing a holding company as well as courses for starting and operating the specific business that i will be building.
1/ Focus on one idea and get to product market fit.
2/ Investors will want you to establish a C-Corp focused on ONE idea that they're interested in funding (not holding companies with multiple unproven ideas)

Investors typically want to see a C-Corp.
Starting a business with a new product for FBA. Need an investor for start up. Where do I start? C corp,S Corp, LLC? Angel investor or seed.
Talk to investors first. If they’re writing you checks, the rest becomes a lot easier. Also talk to a lawyer.
I already have my pitch running but unfortunately, no interested angel investors yet. Not sure if because of the amount that I am raising (not that big) or the pitch itself. Hope I could use this video as a guide or someone could be a guide for building and strengthening my pitch specially that I am a newbie. But anyway, great video keep it up.

What if they took your idea and execute it right away? They may be your direct and indirect competitors, they have the resources to execute it immediately. Any thoughts on this?
They are going to do it anyway once you hit the market. I do believe stealth works if you’re building on a secret advantage. But there aren’t too many of that in software.

It’s not a must today. But it sure does help strengthen the story around the bench strength of your team.

Not necessarily. This is a broad question and there is no broad silver bullet answer. It all depends...
I like your strategy but there can be a downside to that. Some investors will listen to your company's unique position then share with their mature startup in to take to market before you get there.
That’ll happen anyway after you launch. Shouldn’t stop you from entering the arena.

Raising money is always a frustrating aspect of building companies. But it’s not the only frustrating part. It is certainly a rite of passage.

What if the product you’re doing, nobody is doing it? How do u search for that group?
If NO ONE is doing it in any shape or form, it may be for a good reason. The market may not be great.
