I am a wrestler from Germany and tried to make some for a persian wrestler from old oak beams. Now that I have your instruction I shall try again and suceed. Thanks so much!
This is a literal Godsend! I bought a lathe almost 2 years ago for the express purpose of making meels! I am in an absolute state of shock that these videos came out when they did. I bought the templates the same day you announced them on your channel. Expect many questions and comments as I go down this path. You have created a monster, Sir. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Incredible Australian ingenuity. No one outside of Iran can do this, except this Gent. Excellent video, great instructional voice over. All this while living under extreme medical Marshall law.
Paul, that was absolutely fascinating, and the end product.. well..wow! Those are the most beautiful meel I've ever seen, the finish you got with the blow torch is stunning ❤️👏🏻
Hi Chris, Thank you, I'm very happy you enjoyed watching the video. I've been swinging these Meels regularly for past weeks and they were well worth the effort.
Hi Gavriel, In a word 'NO'. Buying meels in the west is a real HIT and MISS affair. I bought a set of Meels in Tehran (5 pairs) back in 2014, they have all lost weight because they were made from green wood and have dried out over the years making them lighter. Meels currently exported from Iran have the same problem, they are made from timber with a high moisture content that dry out and split which requires repair, plus they are very expensive to buy and ship. Western made meels do not have the correct proportions and the handles are incorrect, making them difficult to swing. I'm sorry if this sounds negative, but I want to give you and honest opinion.
Thanks for showing us these details Paul! Is there a particular type of glue you use for the glue up? I've learned a lot from your videos about all the different styles of club/mace swinging that no one else has covered. Please keep up the good work.
Could you put the characteristics of your lathe, brand-model-voltage-motor power-distance between tips, etc. Or the minimum requirements of the lathe, to be able to manufacture the Meels and the Joris? Thank you very much in advance, you do a great job with the clubs. Greetings from Spain.👍
You need a lathe that has a minimum of 1000mm between centres to make Persian Meels. To make Jori you would need a lathe that has 1200mm between centres. My lathe was made by Vicmarc in Australia, and it has a single phase 240w motor, with three pulleys.

Hi Conner, Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have regarding making Meels, I am sure that you will enjoy it.
Paul, you are the Sultan of Meel, the Guru of Gada, the King of the Club. Thank you for sharing your passion with all your disciples!
Wow, thanks C Bo, I feel honoured at such a title.
Thanks for sharing. You've been instrumental in popularising club swinging in this century.

Hi Randy, I use Titebond III Ultimate Wood Glue - Exterior/Interior. It does the job very well.

How much?
Sweet! May I ask about your Shena boards? Where may I find patterns and measures?
Hi Sam, I don't have a shena template drawn up at this stage. Sorry
