Great review Aaron! I actually sent my W1 back as the W2 is a huge upgrade with having 1 cable, it's rechargeable battery and it get closer to the windows edge. Living on the water with a ton of glass, this little bot is a time saver, not to mention it's just fun to watch it clean without streaking. Thanks!!

Yeah it's a blast! Great use case there, I'm sure. Did you ever try putting Windex in it? I was thinking of trying to mix that with water

@@MakeItWorkTech reading the instructions, it is NOT recommended to use any sprays or liquids. While they didn't write why, my guess is that that would make the window glass more slippery.

@@georgej.hunziker8464 yeah that would make sense!

Hello ! Thanks for the clear review. I'm about to get one, but I'm concerned about how high the device is. Indeed, I have a railing in front of the window, leaving exactly a 10 centimeters (3.94 inches) gap between the window and the railing. In the official documentation Ecovacs states heigh is 7.7 centimeters, so my question this including the handle?. Thanks !

How do you think it would work on bathroom tiles? The main reason I want one is to clean the bathroom tiles and shower screen. Also, how loud is it with the suction going?

I don't think it would work bc it wouldn't be able to maintain suction
It's about as loud as a robotic vacuum

Aaron, great overview! Could very well be a game changer for those who live next to busy arterials. In these cases windows need to be cleaned much for frequently (at least twice a year).

Ah that's a great use case! You can see ours can go for a while without cleaning haha

Great review. You only add water, not windex?

i'm hoping one day that a company will engineer an auto-retracting window robot cleaner that will go into the base station on its own when it's done cleaning. the base station would have wheels so it'll move the entire station to the next window and then deploy the cleaning robot to climb up the window. once it's done cleaning the windows on the floor, the entire hub can return to its charging station. right not as it stands, this isn't very useful to me as I have a massive 3 floor home. taking it off and putting it back on would just get annoying for me.

How do you stick it on the outside of windows that don't open (or don't open wide enough)?
I'd probably use it if I got it as a gift, but I wouldn't spend $600 USD on it.

You can't unless the window opens enough!

Probably best to pay a company to do it at that point.
