Yes... the dust and basic cleaning really do make a world of difference! Everyone thinks our home is so "nice" and I really think it just means cleaned and organized hahah
Quick tip for cleaning windows and mirrors: mix white vinegar and some water in a spray bottle. No streaks and no harsh chemicals. Plus, you can use it for cleaning a bunch of other things too.
For exterior windows and glass, use some dish soap in hot water, wipe/use a squeegee, then use the vinegar spray to get a streak-free shine.
Just remember to stick to the middle of any mirrored surfaces and don’t go near the edges or corners because vinegar (and most cleaning products) will eat away the mirrored surface and turn edges black!

There are pretty ceiling fans ,but I agree most builders use the cheap ugly ones. I have high ceilings in most of my house with ceiling fans n the bedrooms and living rooms. When I moved in I replaced the builder installed ceiling fan in the living room with a white modern looking one with a light and I love it. I live in the south where it is hot and humid and we need those ceiling fans.

I’m lounging in my ceiling fan cooled bedroom right now. There’s no way it’s ever going anywhere. That said, there are some really unattractive ceiling fans. Gotta find the right one. There are some really nice designs available nowadays.

I’m sorry Arvin, but as a woman “of a certain age” in the humid heat of Louisiana who resides in a two story home, I have my ceiling fan on 24/7. It is not builder grade so there’s that. Lol
I removed the one in the dining room and it looks so much better there now, but heat rises and it gets freaking hot in the bedrooms

I also need a ceiling fan in every room, they transformed our lives in our small, sweltering, top-floor apartment. They are reasonable sleek and modern so they're a bit more neutral than the old types. Floor fans just don't cut it.
I live in south Louisiana. We have a ceiling fan in every room and they are always running. No way could I live without ceiling fans and floor fans are even more of an eye sore

I have that little LG darling vacuum. It has added a new, very easy, dimension to cleaning. I love, love, love it. No cords, no constructing before you use, no pulling apart, “packing” away. It is grab it, use it, pop it back. It is also quieter. I have told SO many people how wonderful it is and now they are buying it.

I love this Chanel . I literally had taste in hood decor since I was a young girl . I used to tell my mom matching bedroom furniture looks tacky and now she sees it. My home is very affordable but looks like a million dollar home. Decor is neat and I renovated with new flooring and realtor been popping left and right asking if I want to sell it hahaha

Just had a brand new house built, high desert. I have nice modern ceiling fans and they actually help to make my space look more livable, casual and certainly more comfortable. I spend more money on lighting (it’s the jewelry of the home) than I should.. plenty of places to put chandeliers.. entry, dining...

You’re young, you live in dry heat. Wait till you’re a senior, living in the south, with 100% humidity, that ugly old fan along with central air, is a necessity…😉❤️
I know what you mean. Senior in Florida. I have air conditioning, what a blessing, and I find the air conditioning plus a stand alone fan in my bedroom does the job.

I'm far from a senior, but the humidity...I need my ceiling fan on nightly, along with the A/C being lower than a politician on a campaign trail.
I will never ever get rid of my ceiling fan! lol. We replaced it with a new modern one and it’s nice to look at but still functional. Smaller bedrooms specially. We need our floor space. Love that vacuum!! And yes dust is the worst .
Okay I grew up dancing and worked at my studio teaching + cleaning as my job, and that spray way just took me back to cleaning studio mirrors OMG

I feel like you can get a nice looking ceiling fan that looks modern 😅 it might not look as nice as a chandelier, but it won't be distractingly ugly like the brown fan from 1992 😆😆 Especially if you have a smaller room, a chandelier is going to look like wayyyy too much in my opinion... But to each their own 😊

The thing with white walls that people often don't get is that you have to pick the right white. White ain't white. My daughter's bedroom is painted 'white' at her request. Her room has one window, which is south facing, so it means fairly constant, but very cool light (we live in Australia). Her white walls are actually pale pink, but because of the cool light coming in through the window, the walls appear white (except the darkest wall, which appears as a pale lavender). A cool toned white, or a pure white, would give the appearance of very cool toned blues. That would not work at all in our cool climate, where we want a cozy white, not a cold white.
Yes!! I’m in Australia too, have big windows in my room and my ‘white’ is actually a mix of light grey and light pink 😊
True that! I have water views and it makes whites look pale blue. I got 3 sample whites before getting it right!
@@louiseguizelli5552 a friend of mine painted her lounge walls a very pretty pale olive green, but failed to take into account her neighbour's bright blue house. The reflected light has made half her walls a very unfortunate shade of baby poo during the day, and she is now searching for a new colour, and remembering to test them ALSO on the walls with the blue reflected light. An understandable but time consuming mistake for someone painting their first home.

I keep a large spray bottle of isopropyl alcohol for my windows and mirrors and use a microfiber cloth. Works like a charm.

Naw boo, them ceiling fans are necessary. Especially if you have tall ceilings. I have 12-16 foot ceilings on the second floor. My ac would run all dang day w/o the fans. Fans have come a long way...but you do you. I’m gonna keep mine.

Sad part is functionality and design most of the time don’t go hand in hand..we need a ceiling fan in hot places as its just not easy to carry around a fan with us to every room.

New sub here. Had me when you spoke of simply white. My house is gradually turning SIMPLY WHITE. Just had foyer done downstairs and working on upstairs. Dining room off foyer is newly done in black above chair rail. White crown and black ceiling. Simply white below chair rail. I’m LOVING the contrast sooooo much.
