    Awe man...a whole lot of goodness in this video Pete. My lawn is going thru heat stress as I type and it happens to be on a Milorganite regimen, so I’m glad you’re testing it out and sharing with us. I’ll keep my lawn watered good and keep my eye open for an update video notification. BTW, that impact sprinkler is all kind of awesome. Thanks for everything Pete. Bless

    I live in Colorado. EVERY season is rough for lawns! We just went through almost a month of days in the lower 90's with humidity levels in the single digits all day. The lowest reading my weather station picked up was 1% one morning! Couple that with the wind and things dry out very fast. My water bill for this last month was $140, and I only have a total of 1,000 SF of grass!

      CTUgangsta that is impressive, what besides humic acid do you think is the cause? How do you get thick dark green turf that doesnt need watering. Like to know what the other ingredients are just to understand it more.

    • @michelledelaney4271
      @michelledelaney4271 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brian Allen excellent point sir. While he tries to be sincere, his claims cannot be considered unbiased. Fact is, I can’t even get Milorganite right now because it’s bought up as soon as it hits the shelves.

      @jeffwilliams6101 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You better start doing your homework Michelle. The "academy" fertilizer is not his product. He isn't really selling it. He pushes us members towards it because it has proven itself over years of him using it. He is a sincere dude that believes in everybody having the best yard they can. It you aren't a believer. Keep using Milorganite. People buy that because they have access to it in big box stores. This fertilizer is not as well known or in big box stores. It will dominate Milorganite. 💪😁

    • @brianallen140
      @brianallen140 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Brian I clearly wasn't speaking to you unless your name is Michelle. I don't know what the "you told me huh" line is about. That makes no sense. Nobody is crying so don't be a jackass. Everybody on this site gets along fine. But we all strongly believe in this program too and I am simply defending it.

I also need to pick your brain on other things that I think you could be of great help with and I know your a busy man but wonder if you could make a service call to the farm and look at the deficiencies I’m having and come up with a plan to correct. Pete, it's a good thing that you don't have to pay your water bill for the well water that you use on your lawn. That could become quite expensive in the harsh summer heat and little or no rain.
    Question - By putting sooo much water on your test plot to try to revive it and letting your sprinklers even run overnight, aren't you doing some damage to the test plot and possibly creating a fungus-friendly area with so much moisture plus the heat and humidity?
    By the way, I agree with other comments here that that was one helluva big boy sprinkler you were using there! :-)

    Good gawd! It's like you called the fire brigade out to spray your yard and they broke out the heavy artillery. Do you think the humic acid plays a large role in the soil's ability to hold water and reduce heat stress? I gotta say watching that video where you stuck that soil probe way deep down into your yard was quite impressive and sparked my interest into researching humic products.

      I feel it does...it's the main reason my lawn soil is not compacted

    Pete, can you do a detailed breakdown video of your truck layout in this video. Dual tank set up from what I can see, but curious to know more about how to set one up and how you use it. Can you run glyphosate in one tank for concrete and gravel weeds and run turf products in the other for spaying grass areas? My concern would be cross contamination and not getting the hose assembly clean enough to do that. Just curious how I can do it. Im guessing two completely different tanks and hoses would be in order to do that.

      Oh year we use 2 different tanks for sure. I do not put round up in tanks that spray lawns

    Loving the Milo-Academy updates! Incredible difference. Milo so overhyped IMO. Curious to see how it does next few months. Get ready for more heat.. Expecting long duration heat wave for Philly-NYC areas starting next weekend so I imagine NC stays hot and dry.

      HomesliceDrummer one bag is labeled for 2,500 sqft. His test plot is 4,000 sqft. He put two bags in the hopper, that should fertilize 5,000 sq ft. If you need to double bag rate to get results then you are proving the point that milorginite is a low quality fertilizer and not worth using unless you like throwing your money in the trash.

      HomesliceDrummer there’s a shortage in box stores because this time last year not as many people knew about it so the stores didn’t order enough. And also because Allyn Hane, people like to jump on bandwagons. If you go to a turf supply store like site one or green resource they most likely will have the 50lbs bags.
      The point is not that a lot of people are buying it. My point was that if you have to double bag rate then it is a poor quality nitrogen.

      Demand and results are different. Give people a chance to realize the hype after trying it for a yr or 2.

    What variety or blend of fescue are your plots, .... or what do you like best?
    Also do you ever fiddle with wetting agents to help in summer?

    • @GCITurf

      yes i have tried wetting agents... there is five different brands of fescue in my test plot

    Pete. Really would have liked an explanation on why you believe the two test plots are reacting to the heat differently. What one section is deficient of vs. the other. Thanks.

    • @GCITurf
      @GCITurf  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      they are reacting different because of the difference in nutrition thats in each of the fertilizers being tested

    Was that a fire hydrant you used to fill up or some kind of high capacity valve you have on your system?
