Very interesting seeing this done with the horse being held on his back. I have never even heard of it being performed in this manner. I guess even us real old guys can learn new methods. Thanks for the lesson. Good to see those young boys recover and start their new journey. I appreciate you taking the time to create these videos and share your experiences with me. It takes me back to my glory days as they say. I look forward to your next one. Keep Smiling and Stay Grateful
Do you castrate according to the luner signs on the farmers almanac? We castrate all of ours in the last day of knees or first day of the feet. They never bleed and make better geldings.
One of my favorite episodes of the cartoon, King of the Hill where the family visits the family farm. Peggy, the mom, said that she was made to castrate her horse. Im actually watching that episode right now. Thank you for sharing.
Great question! We always geld our horses unless we want to keep one for breeding stock. An example of that is shown here on a video we shared a few years ago: th-cam.com/video/KomX-fV3kZA/w-d-xo.html

It was new for us and seemed to work great. Glad you enjoy! That's why we do this, for people just like you 🤠
I can't imagine doing this procedure with the animal standing.

Is there a particular method you use to select which are castrated?
