    This is how we, martial artists, communicate, sharing knowledges and skills. Not claiming one is the best and bashing another.

      Martial artist knows how to communicate with fellow Martial artist...
      I always emphazise to my students:
      👉Modesty
      👉Respect
      👉Etiquette (outside and inside the Dojo)
      👉Learn (from other art) -theres no perfect system.
      👉Defend NOT Offend.

      Bullshit, a true martial arts expert would prefer to prove his abilities in real fighting/battle rather than just keep talking without being able to prove the technique that he/she learned.
      Challenging each other between martial arts expert has existed since ancient time, so if there is a martial arts expert who can only talk, most likely he/she is just bullshido master.

    For those of you commenting say which one is better have lost the message of this video. You don't need subtitles to visually see that these two men uphold a mutual sign of respect. Martial arts come from different parts of the world, with different purposes behind them. The most important thing is etiquette, not solely dojo etiquette within the dojo. A Sensei teaches his/her knowledge and wisdom from their own experiences and tries to input that information into their students minds to remember and learn that. Upholding respect is learning new things from others, who may not do the same style as you, but being able to learn new things from others makes you a more broad minded martial artist. I, myself studied Shotokan Karate for over 25 years, and I never refer to myself as a Karateka. I am a Martial Artist, Karate is my foundation, as I have the most knowledge in this area, but it doesn't mean that I cannot adapt and learn new things from others. So please, when you know another martial artist, don't defend your martial art, but discuss and exchange knowledge with each other. Oss.

      My god finally someone who think like me, I practice taekwondo since I'm 6, (I'm 19) and growing up, my master always told us "You may practice taekwondo, but be always open to something new, the more you learn, the more complete you become, the better you would be", each month or 2,we invite several martial artist from every style, and we learn new things. I love it. (kind of awkward cause I don't know if what I wrote between the "" really means what I wanted to say)

    • @Marco-iy7lt
      @Marco-iy7lt 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@specimenskitz your teacher sounds like a wise man and has taught you well. I'm glad that he brings other people to your classes and learn something new from others. Even literally altering a move with a twist or move it in different angle, just by a few millimetres can dramatically alter a technique. As long as you can compare it, learn from it and utilise it, that makes you a better martial artist, with a broader knowledge that can teach others in the future. You know, only yesterday, I read something that I will give as advice to you...When you want to learn something, learn it as if you would teach it towards others. By doing it that way, you become more focused and interested in getting it right and passing that knowledge on to others and when you are actually teaching them the specific thing you want them to learn, you are also educating yourself, going through the process of steps yourself. Apply that through life and I am sure you will learn quite a lot.

      @@efeonobrakpeya9883 I practice taekwondo since 13years, and was thinking kind of the same, don't know if I stand a chance against mhuay Thai fighter as experienced in his discipline as I am in mine 😅 But we've got way more kicks than them, wich make us more "complete" with our leg, also TKD vs MT is speed against brutal power, for me it can go either way :)

      @Renzo Wesker My ambitions are to add mhuay Thai as a complement to TKD, but first I need to finish school😅 And yes I know that, where I train we invite other people to try a new martial art once a month, We invited a Mhuay Thai "Master" (IDK if you call it master in this discipline) and it was crazy to spar him, like he was hitting hard as fuck (we did it with a full body protection), impossible to beat for me😂

    I cant understand french but I am a karate practitioner and its so good how both martial artist practice and exchange techniques and not brag which art is better. I think this a new step in breaking the boundaries and letting other arts share their knowledge.

    Voilà une vidéo qui doit ravir les karatékas, comme pratiquement toutes les vidéos qui mettent en relation les deux disciplines, c'est une fois encore une écrasante victoire du Karaté aussi bien sur la technique que sur l'efficacité !!!

    This is a great video, as FMA (Filipino Martial Art- consist of Arnis/Escrima/hampakan, panuntukan, dumog and sikaran) instructor, i'm still learning from other art as well,
    I studied Karate, Taekwondo, Muay Thai and Aikido besides FMA. I also want to study Hapkido if i have a chance.
    Being a martial artist is being adoptive to every situation.
    Sorry for my english, it's not my 1st language.

    That's not real TKD, that's the sport version. The REAL TKD has hand techniques and blocks in ADDITION to kicks, not kicks 100% of the time. I'm a 1st Dan who's master is a born and raised South Korean and I guess that was to my benefit because he taught us the real deal. Hell even us black belts had (I say "had" because I don't go there anymore, 7 hours away in college lol) BJJ in our curriculum. Real TKD looks a lot like the Karate demonstration (TKD was developed from Shotokan) and not what you see in tournaments and in the Olympics. I wish the real TKD was a lot more prevalent, but unfortunately others aren't as lucky as I was

      The most part of Tkd clubs are concentrated on the "fight part".
      Those clubs forget Hoshinsul, kibon, hanbon.... and very technical poomse also.
      There is not a lot of "Traditional" club nowadays.
      (Sorry for mistakes. I'm french 😅)

      @adandyguyinspace5783 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I understood you perfectly and you're right, a lot of TKD places are just for the sport. Since the place I went to is largely traditional we did Poomse, hoshinsul etc.

      There’s a small handful of places that still practice traditional TKD. I’m fortunate to train under Grand Master DA Yun who trains the Korean army. His style is geared for practicality and survival in the original Chang Hon style of TKD.

    I like how the karate guy moves when he's getting ready for the kick. He looks like he's done a lot of sparring. Knows how to move in a real fight; something that was really missing from the McDojo I went to.
