Whqt is the reason why it does not work? How does reheating fix it? Just curious
The chip is "connected" to the board by metal prongs and contact points on each, that melt together at high temperatures, and connection solidifies upon cooling. Because these connection points are so small, sometimes the contact points become fractured, and must be "reflowed", or in other words, reheated at those same high temperatures to reestablish good contact between the chip for wifi, and the logic board of the ipad that it connects to.

If anyone is interested the melting temperature of solder is between 180-210 degrees celsius. That's roughly 400 degrees fahrenheit. The flux used is a mild acid that cleans the surface of any corrosion. A lemons juice can also be used (old school fix), its slightly less acidic. Typically, you would have to clean off the flux after soldering since it is an acid. Curious to see how long it will last..

is flux Needed, or can it work sans?
@@jamesdavison6394 Without flux it would require a lot of heat to melt the solder. This will effect other components and probably melt their connections and possibly a cold solder joint. Then there are the impurities such as carbon that will corrupt the contact area.
Think of it this way. The flux cleans the area and acts as a medium to carry the solder from one point to the other point.

Sir same yan sa issue ng ipad mini ko nag reset network na ako ayaw pa din papagawa ko sana mahal ng singil 2500 to 3k pesos kung reheat lang nman need at hindi kailangan palitan ng wifi ic ganun ba talaga presyo?
pag reheat lang after 1 week balik parin sakit nyan😁para isang gawaaan lang dapat reball talaga ang ic kasi nag cocold solder yun

I have IPad 4 generation, with same problem. I changed the WIFI chip and still the wifi does not power on.

I bought it last September pa kaso nawala na ni baby ung hard copy na receipt pero napicturan ko naman resibo pwede pa kaya un sa warranty sana at meron dun 1 ye warranty keme

Hi what caused nyan po?kc kabibili ko lang sakin then di ko nagamet ng ilang days at iniwan ko sa house ng mom ko,ending nalowbat then pagka charge pag open ko grayed out na wifi then lahat na ng basic ts nagawa ko na pati hard reset un pa din,error msg is *verification failed-there was a problem connecting to the server* PLEASE HELP

pagawa mo nlng po sa technician,,tsaka dpat pag magrreset kau ng phone or ipad sure nyo na malakas signal ng wifi nyo.restore na po yan via itunes.😘

@@luismaka Jajajaja no manches, el irepair no te sirve paro lo que hizo en el video, que es resoldar el ic de wifi, o hacerle reflow
