Jack! As you can see I'm watching some of your older videos and this one is just... INCREDIBLE! I'm sorry I missed it the first time around. Both beautiful and stunning. I'm amazed at how you could foresee this from that root ball! Well done, my friend!

It took me some time too Rebecca, at least an hour playing with different orientations and trying to imagine what might come out of that uneven twisted mass of root and wood. Thanks for watching 😊🤙🏻
Who would have thought that something that looked like a basket of snakes would turn out to be something so beautiful but that goes to show what a true craftsman can do that's really great work Jack. James
Jack get yourself a mechanics leather glove for your left hand. It protects against heat and woodchips and still gives you great tool, control and feel.
Cheers Paul. When I first dug this root ball out the ground and sprayed the soil off I thought “ wow, the possibilities, I could do so much with this” I then stood at the lathe with it for about 2 hours like a Mexican stand off trying to work out how to mount it to get any more than a thimble out of it.. it was one of the most difficult pieces iv had, from a planning point of view. I appreciate you watching 👍🏻

I can't even imagine what the vibrations of turning these odd shaped pieces do to the bearings in your headstock or the stiffness and tolerances in your banjo and tailstock. You must go through a lathe every other year. But with the projects you make and the TH-cam views, it is well worth it. Keep up the good work Jack!!!
