CLARIFICATION: For those criticizing our male interviewees for their answers on sharing sex videos in private group chats, we can unequivocally state that they were not referring to sharing non-consensual spycam footage. Rather, they were referring to sharing widely available adult content and did not fully appreciate the magnitude of the situation. That said, they still stepped up to provide local insight for our global viewers and should not be criticized. It's extremely difficult to conduct street interviews in Korea (and other Asian countries) because people tend to be camera shy and reserved - we typically spend over 6-7 hours just to be able to secure around 10 sets of people. Please be respectful of our interviewees who were willing to step up to the plate and offer their honest opinions.

So because it's tough to find people to interview, we should turn a blind eye to this? The women hadn't even given their consent to the filming and these videos were distributed to others, which is gross and disturbing. Their view point is disturbing and we have the right to state that. You can disable the comment section here, but people will keep talking about it on twitter and Instagram anyway.

They said what they said. If there any missunderstanding then i think we know where to fix. criticizing doesnt meant that people disrespecting them, its just people dissagree on their opinion about what you potray they say in this vid.
Do your best to potray what you believe they are. If you fail so, then they (i mean these a specific people, im not generelazing) maybe what they are (with what they believe and value interpretated).

A lot of Korean (steamy, romance, sexual films?) include or involve RAPE scenes! Sometimes more than a few in a single movie.
You rare see it, if at all in any western/Hollywood movies. Maybe change the culture of movies because it makes Korean women look submissive and desensitize rape.

Spy cams crimes are so bad in South Korea that there was a public march against it a few months ago. So many men have done it or don't care that's why these men you interviewed don't seem to think there's anything wrong with what they were saying. Besides even thinking about consent do people think about how many women are forced into the sex trade due to debts, blackmail, or even just to make a living. There can never be any excuse to exploit someone's vulnerability that way for fun. No matter the context.

Your video is dangerously MISLEADING and potentially ethical. It also risks smearing these interviewees and the general impression for the Koreans. The way you set up the interview does NOT make a clear distinction between spycam footages with legally distributed porn or footages shot with consent from both parties. No wonder I was so surprised why the woman said that "both men and women take this lightly," which in my knowledge is totally the opposite. Korean women march on the street regularly to protest spy cam porn, which is widely publicized in the Western press. Korean women are fully aware of the issue of the danger of spy cam porn. I appreciate your effort, but still, you are creating a dangerously skewed representation.

In some ways in Asian/Middle Eastern cultures how one is viewed by the community trumps what they are actually doing in private. My ex would tell me about being at parties where men would be drinking. Then for some reason the Iman or someone really religious would show up and everyone but him would hide the drinks. He told me I'm an open book I'm not going to lie about it. i think some of this plays into it. I'm not saying it is right but it happens.

Freakin dumb people here generalizing all the Korean men thinking we all do these despicable deeds. Why does Asian boss always translate weirdly and cause conflict and misunderstandings? Where do they get these morons in the videos? They don’t speak for all of us. Asian boss always intentionally does these things regardless of any country if you see their negative videos. They always edit videos like this. And people talk as if this shxt only happens in Korea. Like it doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world like in America or Europe where they also roofie women and rape them , take pictures or videos of women when they’re vulnerable and blackmail them afterwards etc. I’m not justifying the accused celebrities or any person who takes action in a similar matter. As far as I’m concerned they can all burn in hell. However some comments are fxcking absurd talking about morality and shxt, generalizing Korean men and thinking this only happens in Korea. Thanks a fxckin lot asian boss. By the way don’t believe the dumb fxck feminists in the comments talking trash about Korean men.

I live in Korea and I will 100% say these men do not care and come off as aloof about the situation and that seungri is unlucky only because he is a celebrity, but otherwise what he did is fine because in Korean society that is the case.
Prostitution in Korea is huge and business and businessmen are a big part of prostitution. They do not care about these issues because in Korea they are not issues just a way of life.
People that romanticize Korean culture due to the squeaky clean image of kpop groups have no idea the corruption, prostitution, and general lack of respect towards women in Korea.
Please educate yourself on the issues in Korea, especially prostitution and the domestic violence rates.

The amount of people who were like "ah yeah but he's a public figure, he shouldn't do that" and "as a guy we have strong sexual urges and may want to share videos with our friends" is astonishing.. These men need to be taught a lesson in human decency and the law
    .
    .
Edit: I wasn't expecting this many responses and perhaps should have chosen my words more carefully.. After seeing Asian boss pinned comment I feel I should regard these men (and all their interviewees) with more consideration of their circumstances.
It is clear from Asian Boss own comment that I (at least) have misunderstood how these men intended to come across and apologise for being too quick to judge them.
I do however hold my stance that people who share illegally obtained footage of people engaging in sexual activities without the other person's knowledge or consent as well as people who are okay with others sending and receiving such content are immoral and should be taught through the law about their illegal actions.
I appreciate Asian Boss hard work and apologize if comments like mine make it harder for them to do their job so this will be the last thing I say on the comment thread.
I encourage conversation and discussions regarding differing opinions to continue but please try be considerate and refrain from just cussing each other out.. I feel like that is very counterproductive.

Some of the answers actually made me sad. People think celebrities shouldn't do bad things but commoners can; that's totally a false way of thinking. Regardless of who's doing it, it's still wrong. This is not a matter of being a positively-viewed public figure, it's about being humane.
Everyone's right, in this case, women's, should always be respected and protected no matter what. I hope people can realize that if a celebrity looks bad when he does something, then it shouldn't be justified when commoners do the same thing.

Asian Boss, why didn’t you ask the men about their views on sharing Sex videos of girls WITHOUT their consent ? The question should have been phrased in that way and emphasised. As someone else commented, the recording is not an issue if both parties have consented to it. The problem is that the videos were recorded without mutual consent, hence the girls who were involved are victims. This could have led to informative conversations about women’s rights in Korea, and I, for one, would love to know the Korean men’s views on that issue. I notice you only asked the women about how they feel regarding the victims, and not the men. Why is that? Hate to be the devil’s advocate, but I was somewhat disappointed by the interview tbh. It didn’t tell us anything we didn’t already know, it didn’t manage to capture the seriousness of Seungri’s crimes (and has instead led interviewees to conclude that he is only suffering because of his celebrity status and not bc of the fact that he had a hand in drugging, raping women or filming hidden videos of women, not to mention the police corruption and bribery issue) and it didn’t flash out the bigger issue which is the treatment of women in Korea.
I still appreciate the video, but you can do better than this.

Sammi K. N strictly in my view point that conversation wasn’t had necessarily because of the Korean club culture. Getting black out drunk and drugged is not uncommon unfortunately in many high profile Korean clubs. So possibly why it wasn’t highlighted by the participants was because they feel it’s something although bad “it just is”. We have to take into account different culture norms when assessing these values... I have a western mindset so at first it was hard to get over that fact, but like someone else pointed out this is the culture of the upper echelon business men. If this scandal is carried out and investigated thorough many more celebrities, police officers, and higher up business men will be implicated and based on the “class” mindset and money throwing going in behind the scenes I don’t think any larger issues will be addressed unfortunately.

The 4b movement in Korea was sparked by the 'nth room' and 'the Burning Sun gate' incidents. These involved cases of drug-facilitated rape, sexual enslavement, and pornography production involving women, infants, and teenagers. The nth room, in particular, was notably large-scale. Over 250,000 Korean men paid membership fees to access child pornography in the nth room. And the entrance fee was 'molka' of their own mothers, sisters, daughters, and co workers.
The feminist organization 'Flame,' infiltrated chatrooms to expose the Nth room, cooperating with the police, but most perpetrators received lenient punishment or were acquitted, shocking Korean women. Subsequently, over 50k women gathered, demanded stricter penalties for sexual crimes and protection for women and children, staging over five large-scale protests, yet only merited a single-line article. Moreover, women participating in the protests faced murder threats and intimidation both on-site and online. Subsequently, in Korea, 'femi' among men is used as an insult targeting women. Women who identify as feminists or are perceived as such by men (e.g., not wearing makeup or having short hair) risk public assault by men. Therefore, Korean women quietly chose the 4b movement.

A lot of Japanese people come to Korea but the purpose of some of them is not sightseeing. It is said that Japan invented Spy Cam Porn. I saw Japanese men repeatedly arrested for installing spy cam in Korea.
Japan still uses the Rising Sun Flag. The Rising Sun flag was the flag symbolizing the Japanese army during the period of Japanese imperialism. The flag does mean Hakenkreuz for Asians. These prove that Japanese people have little moral. And Japan is very famous for their Porn Video. We should prevent Japanese Porn culture from breaking our social morals.

And i’m sure there are people who have greater power and still haven’t been caught yet. Humans are born to be bad from the beginning, it’s just that society and the system of rewards and punishments gives us a reason to be “good” human beings. Fun fact: in medieval times women were thought to actually have a higher sex drive than men. More insatiable and to receive more pleasure from sexual intercourse than men. It was also believed that women had to have a orgasm to conceive (which was actually bad.. No one believed rape victims if they became pregnant.) This idea of a woman having no sexdrive or not enjoying it as much as men originated in Victorian times but obviously it's still ingrained in some modern minds.

I slept with korean men, and like half of them always asked for filming (which I didn't accept) and didn't understand why it was such a thing here. Now I know why.

Maybe it’s a good idea to legalize porn. I think they will be more chill about everything in life. 😂 it’s weird that they want to look so innocent, but with the closed doors they are more kinky than a lot of western people.

@@katielee7364 It's illegal but that doesn't mean it isn't available. There is Internet censorship in Korea, they block porn sites. You just need VPN to access.

    Sharing porn is not illegal
but sharing sexual videos without consent (REAL "tea" CONSENT) is illegal

No, porn is illegal in Korea. Some think the fact Porn is Illegal increases the sharing of non-consentual porn.

The content isn't with sharing the video. If I say I want to film my spouse and I for our own enjoyment it shouldn't be shared because my spouse feels like bragging. That's not how that works.

We must protect BIGBANG from Japanese people. Japanese people pretend to be nice, but they hide the truth. Japan still uses the Rising Sun Flag. The Rising Sun flag was the flag symbolizing the Japanese army during the period of Japanese imperialism. The Rising Sun Flag does mean Hakenkreuz for Koreans. We should be aware of their real faces.

It all good about sharing until you find your sister's or another female family member's video being circulated. Then all of a sudden it hits home. Besides it be extremely disrespectful to the woman they are with even if it is an one night stand it, also, can be easily leaked to the internet and end up all over the world. A man who shares videos of his own sexual encounters is basically a lost cause.

@Harmon McCraw This is not sympathy but his life has basically ended at 28. He has to walk through the rest of his life existing. That will be the punishment for the harm he made.

I don't understand why men have to imagine that it's a family member in order to realize it is disrespectful. It is harmful to someone's reputation beyond repair. Everyone has sexual desires, let people act on them without fear of them becoming public and ruining their lives. You should refrain from recording and sharing sex secretly because you respect the people around you as human beings in their own right. Not because you can imagine what it would be like if they were a family member.

Life tobelived Tbh having a broken reputation isn’t enough, I don’t understand why people can’t see that. Learning law, we all know the rule of law in which no one is above it. He committed a crime, he need to take responsibility of it and be prosecuted instead of being let off just because he’s a public figure who’ve suffered damage to his career. It’s the same as if someone is caught red handed doing illegal things, being fired from their job in the office wouldn’t even be counted as a punishment. He has to face prosecution
