I started out in post acute care. Its hard but I like it because it's a little hospital. We work with vents and trachs, we do bladder scans at bedside, start ivs, give blood products, bronchoscopy, etc. My first week, I thought that i was going to quit, that's how hard it was. But after being here for abt 6 weeks now, and on my own, BY CHOICE after 3 weeks of training, I really love this stressful job. I graduated 8/3/23 and took nclex 8/11/23 (i didn't study) and started working as a nurse 9/12/13. Good luck to everyone who is in pursuant of this career.
Congratulations... Of course... We don't know each other, but, credit needs to be given.. You will be blessed... Keep focused.. Ask God for strength, and always be compassionate towards the weak🙏💙
@Diaryofaqueen777, ooh I believe it! 12 hours ain’t no joke. Are you wearing compression socks! That helps when you’re standing all day. Plus comfortable shoes. Hope it gets better.
Hey guys, I am very happy this would be my happiest Christmas ever after passing my Nclex RN on my second attempt yesterday with great help from Dr Luther. I wanna say a big thank you may the almighty bless you for me
@@xKouture if you find a good routine for yourself and make sure you are getting rest after work somehow I’m sure you will be fine. Many people in different fields do those 12 hour shifts and they make it work. 😊
Hello, I start floor training tomorrow as an LPN. Can you do a video on how to effectively communicate with the doctors concerning the patients. Thanks a lot! 😊
First of all. Make sure you HAVE ALLLLLLL your eggs in row. Meaning nurses do something a few times before calling a doctor. Never call them with looking for something, not reassessing your patients after you did a intervention. Makes you look dumb. Always recommend when you request something that is within your scope
I just took my NCLEX , currently waiting for my license to come but can you do a video about charting and taking notes on the patient and where did you first start working ?
@queenvana324, congratulations! I work I’m outpatient so the charting is completely different from the hospital. I first started working with my license in a LTC facility. Then I came over to the asthma and allergy clinic.
@@nurseitnakia3490how long did you work in LTC facility ? i’m brand new and i’m in orientation at a Skilled nursing facility they have competency test for LPNs which I didn’t know you have to do that before you start working on the floors. Did you have to do that aswell?
@hplifestylelessonsandfun9131, aww thanks so much! I love my career! I pray I can continue bringing more things throughout my channel. Thanks for watching! 🩷
I want to be a nurse my challenge is my pre reqs lord science isn’t my strongest subject. I feel that if I’m not good at science then maybe I am not smart enough to be a nurse. 🙏🏾
@kaylahood1000, aww don’t say that. Science isn’t my strongest subject either but that didn’t stop me, so please don’t let it stop you. If nursing is your passion, then go for it!
@missunique5414 I can’t stand science! The only class in science that I liked is pathophysiology. We have to have it though. Have you tried to find someone who is great in it to help you?
@@nurseitnakia3490 yes. I have a paid tutor so I’m going to keep pushing. He’s great. I just have to put the time in. Thanks for the encouragement and reply😊
Good video I passed my boards and got a job but it’s part time 8 hr shifts 😑😑 I have another job offer it’s full time but it’s 12hrs I have a young child whose almost 10 and 3 older kids that could help me with her getting ready for school… I don’t know what to do I want the 12 but I know it’ll be challenging. The pay is 32 (12hr) compared to 29… I’m just nervous about it 😬… classmates saying go with the pay 💰 and others say stick with the first job then go to another once comfortable…. I dont know 😓😅
@Peachlaila30, first congratulations on passing your boards! I know it’s hard when you have smaller children. The best advice I can give is do what’s best for you and your family. Majority of the time when the money is good, there’s “extra” work for you lol. Let me know what you decide. 💜
Ty I’m taking this 8hr position they added some more days for me so I’m working 5 days per pay period which is cool it’s 11pm-730am so I’ll be ok I’m a work a few months and give this job a try 😩💯

I’m 7 months in 8 months post grad. Man, the worst part has been how hard my body has been beaten up working 12 hour days.

Currently in school for this. Im honestly excited for 12hr days . 😭 lets hope i dont eat my words

I had a trainer who was impatient with her trainees. As if she hasn't started from the bottom herself.

@ThatssoMimi, congratulations! I really enjoyed the program and I’m not finished yet! I will definitely do a video on that.
How’s the program going?
