The absolute biggest of thanks and all of my gratitude to Chris Brewer and Meinl Cymbals for making all these videos and my dreams happen!! This was one of the funnest and most special days of my life. Thank you to everyone for your kindness and for taking the time to watch!!! I'm very much looking forward to doing some more videos in the future!! Please let me know if you have any questions about cymbals/ techniques/ anything! I'll always do my best to respond ASAP!! I love y'all 🥹😭😍🫶
Hey Bryce! I've seen you play variations of the fill at 3:15 quite a bit, (it's sick af) I was wondering what is the sticking for the first part between the snare and the floor tom? I'm a huge fan of some of the sort of fast gospel choppy fills you do and wanted to start incorporating some in my playing.
@ethanchariandy5137 one of my favorite stickings!! It's just a Paradiddle-diddle with the 2nd hit being an accented snare hit. So RLrrll. This particular sticking in this video is RLrrll RLrrll KK RL KK RLRLRL! Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time to watch! I appreciate you!! 🥹🙏🫶
Absolutely love all of your drum videos. What would you say the best pedals are to learn heel toe. I just can't do it on the roland ones i have. I also do know where my hi-hat needs to be placed as the base of it is interfering with my left pedal.
@@Hextest123 thank you so much!! I appreciate you 😭 I would say any direct drive longboard pedal is great for heel toe!! Also, getting a 2 leg hi hat stand will eliminate the hi hat/slave pedal issue 🙏🫶
Each of these Bryce videos have shown me that the drum parts he's written are even harder and more technical than I already thought they were. Absolutely incredible stuff, really hoping we get more Bryce in the future!
@@apocalypseapliar lol. There is no album version because there is no album for this song as its a one off single, and even if it wasn't the album still isn't out
Amazing. You started using heel-toe, I noticed? Seems to be the most efficient way of getting to super high speed. Moreover, having both like having fingers and push-pull for your hands. Really creative and great dynamics. Thanks. :)
I used to make similar faces on my drummer's kit during practice breaks, but it was because I suck and was joking.....Bryce is a BEAST & fucking MEANS it!!!
I always use triggers in metal or I find that the kick doesn't really cut through, the kick mics are blending with the trigger for the ultimate kick sound 🙏😍
@@Hextest123if you compare it with his live performance. Hes really good but there isnt a single mistake and it sounds like its 100% on grid. But I could be wrong
@@krystof7059 not gonna lie, those videos especially welcome back 'o sleeping dreamer. I find it difficult to believe that anyone can play something like that flawlessly. But I also give it the benefit of the doubt as I am under the assumption that meinl's videos didn't use those techniques when filming these. Happy to be corrected. Regardless though. I can't knock the sheer talent on display. If I could play even 10% of what these guys play I'd feel like a god.
Every extreme metal drummer uses triggers so the kick doesn't get buried in the mix. I'm using the double stroke technique here, just like Austin Archey, John Longstreth, Aaron Stechauner, Spencer Prewett, etc. One stroke hits when you drop your heel, the 2nd stroke hits when you pull up your heel. It's a very effective technique for having to play very fast double bass for long periods of time 🙏

The sheer joy that is on his face is awesome. What a player!

As someone who's charting this song from the album for a game, can confirm. The album version has even more fun little things in it.

I don't think he writes drum parts. It's Chris writing the drums
@tomatomtom4921 Chris will write the general idea but then Bryce will work his magic on the details
Thank you Meinl for this masterpiece, hopefully there will be more of Bryce!
Always take the time to watch all of Bryce’s videos. Such a genuine personality and slaps the hell outta the tubs.
I love this guy so much the joy he gets from playing these insanely fast metal blasts and makes it look effortless love it bro!
Seriously one of the nicest people I have ever met! Bryce and Meinl are like butter and tortillas! 🔥

Drumming personality: Labrador.
I used to make similar faces on my drummer's kit during practice breaks, but it was because I suck and was joking.....Bryce is a BEAST & fucking MEANS it!!!
I see mics in the bassdrum, so you're not playing this with triggers? If so, the double strokes are sounding incredibly powerful!

He used to smile a lot!!.. Now he’s just doing math 😂
This one was hard hahahaha 😅🤣🙏🫶
