I'm from Birmingham and use this route often, the stray cat problem is a nightmare to be honest. You can't move for them sometimes. That's why sometimes the trains bypass barnt green because if they opened the doors the train would just fill up with cats.
In real life Birmingham New Street Station is one of the busiest outside of London handling on average 1200 trains a day. So i wonder what DTG were thinking making Birmingham New Street look like a quiet wayside halt when in truth it's anything but quiet.
They most probably hoped (or maybe even planned to, who knows) to fill the station with rolling stock from other DLCs but don't have anything suitable at the moment. DTG is of course too cheap to make train model just to decorate the neighborhood so the best we can do is to wait for new exciting DLCs (for the new exciting price) with 172, 390, 350 etc. (the big IF)
So Daisy who helped produce the sounds and source reference material, lives by me at Bournville and she has the cat/s. They ain't bad, I have 2 cats and I get very sensitive about it. I like your channel so be reasonable lol 😉👍 Good review though, I live at Selly Oak. The failure to add Soho services and the depot itself has really fucked me off.
@7:35 on the bit about the station cats, I don't know about other stations but Manchester Oxford Road, one of the main Manchester terminals is well-known for its station cats, lots of other UK stations have them as well. They are generally there for mousing purposes, its cheap pest control.
Personally I do quite like this route, even with your entirely correct constructive criticisms. Yeah, Birmingham New Street is quiet, and we really need the 170/172 but I do overall enjoy it. Just needs a few tweaks here and there
On the topic of cadbury chocolates, they are my favourite british sweets and probably one of the less likely sweets in britian to cause diabetes after consuming
9:17 Hopefully not for long, because if the WCML (Euston - Birmingham) is announced after the leaks, DTG will hopefully layer in AI only services for the class 390 and 350 services, and the same the other way round, layering the 323 on the WCML South around Birmingham
I personally quite like driving this route. It might be a tad small, but the services are pretty nice to do. For the empty Birmingham New Street, I'd suggest adding the 390 and 350 as static stock, as the 170s have been retired from WMR a few months ago
It's pointless to create an entire trainset that are static only and not drivable. The only way the 390 and 350 could come is if they made a wcml South but afaik, they only have an avanti license for use in creators club
Today IRL there is considerably reduced service north of Birmingham new street. 2 Tph end at Four Oaks and 2 more continue to Litchfield Trent valley. Staff shortage? The usual service levels extend south with 2 tph ending at Birmingham new streeet
There is however a growing number of station cats being employed by Network Rail staff all over the country. So you are well off with your assessment of why DTG has included whisker-less cats. Just a nice friendly touch, nothing to get mad about.
Personally, i think either the 172 or 196 should have been added, as they both operate fast services from Shrewsbury to Hereford on this line, calling at (on the map) on the Bham-Bromsgrove section (as you mentioned), calling at Bromsgrove and University only.
9:32 is where your wrong because actually in the pause menu you can see a junction going west of Birmingham if you spawn a 323 and go to free cam you can go out of boundaries if you keep extending out of the map more and more you will be able to see soho T.M.D though the problem is I think that only ai drives up to that area you will also see 323 at the unfinished soho t.m.d being out of service I think the best time to go to see the out of service 323’s at soho tmd is if you spawn at Birmingham new street and set it like 4 to 5 am (fun fact) : the camp hill line between Birmingham and kings Norton is actually part of the map
It's much better than the tsc ones. Plus it's using real recordings. It could have been much worse but I like it given that I've never ridden one before

Making trains is not easy
I’ve never been to New Street and it not be like an absolute madhouse. Like you say, probably only places like Kings Cross/St Pancras are more chaotic

my guess is with trains sim world 4 the routes will go up again in price
Nope. The regional bundles which just have 1 route are the same price
The 323s traction motors sound unforgiveable

They should do the Bham London Euston route via NEC Bham Intl
BNS looked better in BVE4!!!
